Just so that I understand, is that package just a diff of a pre-installed TT updated environment?

Sort of. I had to do a few tweaks to make it install dot net 8.0 the first time you run the game. But yeah overall its just the files from the installer extracted. It will automatically update as normal.

Hey I have a solution for you if you have the steam version of renegade. Go into desktop mode. Download this file

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/14GemV6x33iVC-1_JmRfjwUuArt-pG7L1/view?usp=drivesdk

Extract and then copy the files.

In steam right click renegade and click browse local files. Paste and overwrite/write into all the files. Then you can go back to game mode and the game should be good to go. Once you open the game it will automatically download a few updates to get to the latest scripts version. Just click through the installer that comes up.

For controller settings there is a profile I made called Renegade W3D Hub. You can find it in community layouts.

Please let me know if this worked for you.

  3. Has anyone managed to get the latest version of the launcher to run on a steam deck or normal linux. I tried the commands that mrfry suggested on both the steam deck (arch linux based) and an ubuntu vm but no luck. It still crashes on launch.

    winetricks -q dotnet48
    winetricks -q dxvk155
    winetricks -q d3dcompiler_47
    wine reg add "HKCU\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Avalon.Graphics" /v DisableHWAcceleration /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f

The good news though is that Interim Apex itself runs great when I manually copied the files over.

Can we remove the fixed V-SYNC limit to 300? The reason some people select V_SYNC off is to have more FPS and the limit to 300 on servers w/ more than 15 people will easily drop to below 100 when server gets populated.

What's the reasoning behind this if we already have the option to cap VSYNC in game when needed?

The physics actually start to glitch above 300. Especially when the frametime ends up being 0 in some cases because of the way its calculated. With Vsync on its actually just whatever your refresh rate is. With it off its now just up to 300. Most games cap their framerates at 300 so its not an abnormal practice.

  5. Damage buffs are fine. Just do it like IA where the building must be alive to research the upgrade. If it has already been upgraded and the building dies the upgrade stays. If you aren't familiar with how the IA upgrades work I recommend joining and playing on a map with a Communications center. There is one on right now actually. The next three maps also have Comm centers.

i also have a problem with low fps sometimes in APB. im not sure its because of my cpu either (4 core, 4gb generic intel cpu, but can handle Dawn of War 2 no problem and C&C: Remaster with decent FPS). It actually was working just fine when i first started playing a path beyond, which is...strange to say the least. may do more extensive testing

Can you test it in IA? It will give us a better idea if your issue is scripts 5.0 (APB, AR2) specific or occurs in 4.x (IA) as well.

I blame China for all the world's problems.

But I also put blame on our government for going a bit overboard on the lockdowns... I agree people should distance themselves and not create large crowds needlessly, but shutting businesses down for weeks on end was just too far. More or less, people need to use damn common sense and not be smelly fucking cavemen, then we wouldn't have had to deal with 1.4 million cases, and a very possible total economic collapse.

If we didn't have the lockdowns we probably would have 10 times as many deaths by now as we have had. The economic fallout would have been much worse and we would likely need to lockdown now for much longer.
