Try using wwconfig in the IA directory. It should support more resolutions. I actually want the configuration button in the launcher to just open wwconfig.

What projects can we expect to see from you in the future?
Also ask him if we can get a high quality stereo version of Act on Instinct without the lyrics. The official soundtrack only came with the lyric version if I recall correctly.
I'd also love this song without the ingame sounds.

Make sure if theres a scripts.dll inside your leveledit edit directory that its updated as well. Sometimes on actual map export it uses that one for the parameters. Also make sure your defenses have sightdownmuzzle checked in their preset and have valid sight ranges.
I'll get back to you on what to do for the repairpads and silos that aren't capturable.

Hi Trunks,
Zunnies scripts were removed from the scripts project back in 4.1. For the repair pad use db_captureable_repairpad and db_capturaeble_repairzone. For silos use db_captureable_silo and lastly use db_capturable_object for defenses or other neutral structures. Those function similar to zunnies old scripts.

stock renegade engineer/technician game mechanics. It encouraged teammates to work as a team.
And both teams were almost identical, with the only truly noteworthy differences being that one team gets a stealth tank/stealth infantry while the other gets a big points sponge and a better rocket soldier. Not the most interesting dichotomy. If we make technicians/engineers into omnirepairmedics here then that means we basically have to rebalance the game from scratch again because the unit balance is currently built around only one team being able to repair tanks in the field and heal infantry in the midst of a firefight. And it'll likely boil down to both teams becoming identical again save for availability of phase tanks/mammoth tanks and become a Renegade clone and that's not what this is supposed to be.
The points bug regarding the Mammoth is fixed actually in scripts 4.x. That was an unintentional points calculation error that westwood made.

Yeah I am not a fan of changes that actually reduce the ability to perform teamwork. That's actually one of the reasons why I liked the stock renegade engineer/technician game mechanics. It encouraged teammates to work as a team. I liked the fact that the vehicle/building/infantry repair was all rolled into one unit. It was a necessary change in my opinion since one player can't control 100's of units like in the RTS.

I think this is the same guy who shot me through walls and killed me while being dead, as seen in APB Madness 3. There's gotta be something to it...
The W3D Engine uses client side hit detection. Its very likely that lag caused you to see it that way but on his screen and on the server it likely was perfectly legitimate.

I don't see the harm in giving this a spin. The unit clearly needs a boost in some area before it becomes more commonly used, outside of the few maps where terrain allows for gimmicky tactics.
Friendly fire for everything.
I'm normally of that opinion in other games, but on W3D, with the horrible network code, I would say that friendly fire from everything would just result in a lot of team-kills due to latency, rubber-banding, and de-syncs, and it might even make all of those things worse due to adding extra load on the server to calculate additional damage.
The Damage is calculated on the server no matter what. It just blocks it (sets damage to 0) if friendlyfire is on. This is because a lot of scripts still call their damaged functions even when friendlyfire occurs.

Changed the topic tile since it's about more than friendly fire now
Currently the shockwave damage is 34% enemies/17% friends, can adjust that to a more favourable ratio of 40% enemies/15% friends, or 37.5% enemies/12.5% friends.
Another thing that might be hindering MADs is the bug that they turn neutral a while after deployed - making it hard to defend them since you can accidentally hurt them, but on the other side of the coin, denying the enemy points for killing them. I've already asked jonwil to take a look at that.
What script are you using. I can take a look at it as well.
I think the big issue with a lot of tanks in APB (and reborn) is that its not possible to repair them in the field for one of the teams. Its actually worse in reborn as the mobile repair is a vehicle so you can't take it with your tank without a second person. I know this how it was in the original RTS but keep in mind that Tiberian Dawn had no mobile repair unit at all but renegade did. (in the rts no one really needed mobile repair as TD/RA was just a spam as many units game, which you can't do in W3D) That's one of the big reasons why something like a MAD Rush doesn't work well.

It shouldn't be possible to flip them (the titans) intentionally at all if you ask me. Cause all you'd need to do is hit it hard enough with a fast enough moving vehicle and boom, problem solved.
You can usually stop a titan from flipping if you walk towards the tank trying to knock you over. Its actually pretty difficult to flip a titan on flat ground. It has really good armor. Its one of the drawbacks of using it but the positives far outweigh this one Achilles heal. (pun intended). Also keep in mind that some of this is just how the renegade engine works with tall vehicles. It actually used to be like 10 times easier to flip them. They are quite stable compared to before.
I was just thinking though and I might code up a deploy key that makes it dig its claws on the back of its legs into the ground but doing so makes it immobile. It might be a good compromise. Could probably add a slight rof increase and recoil reduction as well. That would be especially useful for the 120mm shell version.
The new abrams tank is on the server now. The 36inch mammoth is no longer as powerful against structures (a technician can outrep it) but received a buff against tanks to compensate. Its turret however now rotates slower than it used to.You guys BETTER use that model that Abrams Kaskins made for his other mod....... as for the Merkava, it looks a bit like the 105mm Bradley except on a "lower riding" chassis. Looks good though. I just really hope the mod gets a stable playerbase where its not 1v1, 3v2, 5v4, you get the point.... despite every unit having a counter, it really balances gameplay too much..... and most unit counters can be easily destroyed or killed by the units it counters. Small games tend to be unbalanced as hell, mainly due to the fact, not a lot of people are tactical about ther attacks, and since teamwork is nonexistant in the world of C&C, uh
....... yeah... it makes things difficult...... especially when i try defending the base agains a 120mm Tick Tank, or a 36 inch mammoth...... it cant be done.. Dont get me started on the railgun titans tho.... and yes, i've tried flipping them..... its hard as balls to do it..... just out of sheer boredom, me and mask played a round on the Ultra AOW server.... since nobody was on any server besides rencorner at the time, i was using a light tank, and later a basic bitch stealth tank to flip pver a titan, yeah it started flipping..... but the damn thing is a weeble wobble..... i dunno if its because of them using the previous version of IA, but i remember clearly it was simple to tip over the Weeble Railgun...

Hey I am opening this thread so we can have a topic to discuss changes being worked on and to take feedback on ways to improve ImperialAge. Right now we are testing a new model we are working on for the GDI Merkava IV. It has a full articulating suspension.

How does it differ from OpenRA? Will it try to be actually similar instead of going its own direction like OpenRA did?
Our goal is to recreate the Red Alert engine as close as possible in C++, with the hopes of making the games main executable replacable with our compiled binary. Some people have mentioned that this is in in fact created in spit of the OpenRA project, but we have different goals (mostly personal as I started this project sometime in '07/'08). I speak with the OpenRA developers form time to time and we hope to help each other in the future.

Hopefully this project has better performance than OpenRA. OpenRA really starts to lag even on modern hardware which is pretty rediculous considering the original game could run on a pentium II just fine.

Our mod ImperialAge has quite a bit of units from all three games, and a few from Red Alert 2 as well.
