Okay, how does everyone feel about this solution to the level problem: When a pokemon faints, you get half its levels to distribute to other pokemon. So for a level 10, you'd get 5, a level 20, 10, etc. You can break up these levels however you want across pokemon too, so say you had 10 to distribute, you could send 5 one way and 5 another. The level cap would still be 50, but you'd also still need to reach an "effective" 60 to evolve twice, for pokemon that do so. I'll also publicly reveal that every 10 levels is what gives you a chance to learn a new level up move. How do we feel about this? If the change is made, Jeod would retroactively have 5 levels to distribute.

Gen 8 needs a literal chicken that is the magikarp of the sky.

Before I played Moon, I went through the trouble of breeding a Skarmory to use from the get go at level 1 in my older games, only to later learn that Skarmory was native to Alola, which kind of defeated the purpose...

Now, if we talk about Poke Go... for January community day, I had a 100% shiny rate. I was snowed in, but managed to still catch one, and it just so happened to be shiny...

My only other shiny (aside from poke go) was on Pokemon 3D. It's not even a ROM, but a stand alone program from PC, so sadly no way to transfer it to the bank. Was a Geodude, and like, the 10th pokemon I encountered in that playthrough.

I caught a shiny magikarp the day after I decided to upload Crystal's red Gyrados to my pokemon bank, figuring even if it's the only story shiny, it still counts as a shiny. It was the first ever shiny I got legitimately, after years of play, and I feel as if my luck was wasted on getting a duplicate.

Eh, that's an acceptable answer. I'll let you live, for now TBH I don't really fish either, and when I do, I'm typically looking for shiny magikarp (I have great luck with it).

Retaliation has been eliminated from the game.

You're just going to have to do your thing and hope for the best. If anything completely unfair happens I'll compensate the relevant parties, but you should keep your IC thinking separated from OOC.

Rule changes should not affect decision making, and will be adjusted to prevent gaming the system.

I've been considering something like this. I've called it the Exp Share plan. There are still a few speedbumps and stuff though so I've not settled on anything just yet. My self imposed deadline is hammer tomorrow, so there's plenty of time. I'll probably brainstorm in the shower later or something.

It wasn't an age thing, it was more of when we were younger kids our parents didn't want to buy us gameboys for fear we'd fight over them.

Since we're off topic already, here's a question for you lot: Numel or Charmander? I'm playing a romhack of Heart Gold where you can catch any pokemon (from gen 4 or earlier), and I can get both a Numel or a Charmander early when looking for a fire type. Charmander is obviously awesome, but Numel is also ground type. I was originally thinking of getting a Charmander and a Phanpy to cover both those types, but with Numel I could do it in one pokemon... hmmm....

TBH I really easily came up with a good solution... but it just so happens not to work with other balance choices I've implimented. However, this gives me confidence that I can macguyver it before hammer, so for now I just ask that everyone remain calm
