  1. I did get the original disk version to work I just had to "patch" the exe to get mine to work, but this origin version seems to run better, I just set the RA2.ini to my native res, seems to work fine, game did hang during the second allied mission, have to figure out how to avoid that. I'm planing on doing a let's play soon.

Disable Origin functionality, try installing Bibber's fixed TUC launchers (since this release is ripped from TUC), run the game in compatibility mode for Win98 and as admin.

    If you want to record:

    - if you have Windows 10, run the game in 16-bit colour mode (Compatibility tab in Properties) and use the -win parameter to run it in a window.

    - if you have an earlier Windows, manually set your desktop colour to 16-bit and use the -win parameter to run it in a window. Here's how: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/faq/id-1865158/change-color-bits-windows.html

What works with RA2/YR: XSplit, CamStudio, Bandicam, Hypercam

    What maybe works: OBS

    What doesn't work: Fraps

So how does this work? When it says "download now and it's yours to keep", do you actually have to fully download it, or can you just leave it in your "my games" like any other not-installed games you have?

I think you only have to click on Download Now the first time so it appears in your library, and then you can cancel the download. It's what I did.

And if I uninstall it at some point, do I still own it like I would a game that I paid for?

    Yes.

  2. of curse mac is not supported. This is just easy to say...

But it's not easy to develop things specifically for Mac, an operating system that very few people have, let alone game on.

the black hand luncher from the past was working very well as renegade did.

Renegade never had official Mac support. It was only ever made for Windows, and there was a beta version of dedicated servers for the Red Hat distribution of Linux. That is all.

Parallels is too expensive at the moment for me.

Must be from the price you (over)paid for the Mac :p
  3. Granted, but now you are confused by thermodynamics and behaviour of fluids more than you were with vectors. Good luck doing puppy eyes to the professor ;)

I wish Skype didn't suck so hard and didn't remove all my contacts by accident/bug.

  4. Granted. The patch, however, somehow holds some secret and unfinished Apoc Rising data and assets visible to everyone. Everyone hates both TSR and AR.

I wish I could obtain copies of some very rare games I find interesting.

  5. The final cutscene of TibSun Firestorm is pretty weird. Kane was in that tube and I couldn't even understand what Cabal or Kane said.

    He said...

My...my...my... my vision has permeatated. My... my...your...my plans have followed a path unpredicted by the union of Nod and GDI. Your...my...power... our directives must be reassessed.

Kane was probably cloned there as Einstein says. He couldn't survive after what happened in Ts or Td. His brain is like a computer or something like that. He saved his memories.

In the complete and final canon, Kane is an alien. That would explain how he was present in the events of RA1 (through the almost-canon Soviet campaign), in Tiberian Dawn, got Ion Cannon'd, returned in TS pretty damn wounded, got impaled by McNeil and then recovered in Act I of Kane's Wrath, then onwards in the storyline. Clones weren't quite an idea by Westwood.
  6. Thats some cool shit OWA. The first Halo Wars was pretty fun, but I noticed that it got reduced in scope as it went thru development. At first, the devs boasted that you could build a huge base, complete with props and guys training in the back of the barracks and shit, workers and soldiers moving around, alot of ambiance and visuals - it was a living, breathing base you had.

The finished game only presented a bare bones base structure, no props, just solid structures.

The game is still fun, but dayum, it looked much more impressive before the final product.

Probably because Ensemble Studios was inexplicably announced to be closed once Halo Wars was finished, so they probably no longer cared about quality, and just wanted the game out anyway.
  7. Tiberian Sun Kinda got a free versions with a bunch of new stuff added into it. Sadly it doesn't seem to work on my Computer (Windows 10) i just get a critical error upon loading. But hey! Two free RTS games.

If you guys know off any other free RTS or RPG games share a link.

Get the game from here instead: http://tore29.com/tsins/TSinstaller3-beta10r5.exe

    Patch it from here: http://cnc-comm.com/community/index.php?topic=3438.0

  8. I wish to be an all powerful genie.

Granted, but you can only do three actions (granting other people's wishes or otherwise, this includes speaking) before you vanish for eternity.

    I wish I could pilot a fighter.
