Strike
connecting to our old server. We have stopped using this server a week ago. By default you should connect to the new server to fetch the launcher updates. Can you give me the output of the following command in "CMD" (windows command prompt) nslookup w3dhub.com
danpaul88
You should also try typing ipconfig /flushdns into the command prompt

Wyld
Here is my Hosts file: # Copyright (c) 1993-2009 Microsoft Corp. # # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows. # # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name. # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one # space. # # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol. # # For example: # # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host # localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself. # 127.0.0.1 localhost # ::1 localhost 176.31.21.179 www.w3dhub.com
Einstein
I had him to add that line for troubleshooting just FYI. Didnt want anyone to be confused by the random hosts file lol
danpaul88
The launcher uses secure.w3dhub.com, not www. Also editing hosts files leaves you vulnerable to future IP address changes since it won't pick up new address from the DNS
Wyld
Wow! changing that line from www to secure fixed it! I'm In!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Einstein
Yeah this definitely isnt a fix, just a workaround until whatever gets fixed (ISP issue maybe?). You'll want to remove that edit some day. Glad you can play now though
RainOff
Can you explain in detail what exactly needs to be done to fix this error? Where and how should the www / secure path be written? Edited June 7, 2021 by RainOff
danpaul88
This was a one off fix for a specific user. If you're using Windows 7 and getting this error check this; https://w3dhub.com/forum/topic/423659-running-the-launcher-on-windows-7-enabling-tls12/
