Help W3D Launcher not doing anything

I downloaded W3D launcher and I have renegade from Origins. When I run the launcher it just prompts me to pull up origins and open Renegade through there. I obviously dont remember my login and password from ages ago. I thought this was just supposed to Direct Connect me instead of bringing me through Renegades menus?

The origin version of Renegade breaks direct connect completely just so they can shunt you into origin. You can fix it by installing the latest TT patch for Renegade, which restores the ability to direct connect;

I updated the launcher but its saying I need a serial number. I bought it off Origin how would i find the serial number?

 

Also its saying I need Windows XP Service Pack 3 or greater?

@aRGHathol Hi there, just checking back since we haven't heard from you. Did you get Renegade working?

You will need Windows XP SP3 or newer for sure. Hopefully you have at least Windows 7 or Windows 10. Its a happy accident that Renegade still works on XP systems. Our other games such as Red Alert: A Path Beyond will require you to have Windows 7 SP1 or newer in order to play.

To answer your question, Yes! The intent/purpose is to be able to direct connect to the many various servers via our launcher.

If you have not already, please download the latest TT scripts/engine (version 4.6.x) from the link that danpaul provided. You may also try re-installing the launcher just for good measure, but this should not be necessary.

Please report back if you get it working or not, and we will do what we can to get you up and running!
