To be fair, he's in the same boat. I can confirm his alignment or see he did an action which makes him a liar. Either way, it's progress.

If you've got a way to guarantee my safety I can do that. I don't have any reads on you, which is both a reason to investigate you and also a reason not to trust you.

He's the only option I've got at this point. To get a lynch off of me, I'd have to provide a better lynch target. That means making enemies with mafia. So... I'm hoping Retal's protection works like he claims.

It is, not counting my revenge action (which I assume counts as a visit). Maybe I have more one-time actions like vent, but mafia doesn't need to know that right now.

Either Orange does nothing and I see his alignment or he's lying and I get an action read to prove that.

There are some people I'd expect to be willing to believe me/test my claim. Others are flip flopping way too easily... This just makes me think Orange is the other mafia more.

My strategy has been to subtly hint I can do something useful during the night (i.e. get information) and that I will side with whoever helps me survive. But if I straight up give away what I know, then I lose what's my main tool to stay alive. Obviously I wasn't going to out and say what I knew, I'm not town. But I also didn't want to hint at it too much. So I did hint at the possibility of Shade being targeted by mafia and a TP, but I didn't push it because that would reveal I actually knew something.

That's what I've been trying to hint at. I either need to toe the neutral line all game or end up picking a side. But I have no way of protecting myself and I don't "mechanically" win by dying.

So, first the juicy info. I have an ability I can use during the night with a one-phase cooldown (I've only been able to use it during N1). This ability is called Stalk and allows me to stalk a player and see what "tasks" they do. If they do nothing, I study them and learn their alignment. If they perform any actions or pass any items I get info on what they are capable of. Actions give effects and target it was used on. Passed items give me the details and who it was passed to. The purpose of this action is to learn information so I can help whichever faction I end up assisting (if I do). N1 I stalked ChopBam to see what he would do. He is one of the players I have a harder time reading (not enough content for me to work with), so I chose him first. He targeted Shade and his action was a stealth roleblock. This is why I was suggesting the idea of Shade being targeted by mafia and a third-party (Louis or KY). I see no reason for somebody to just use a stealth roleblock like that as town. I have my concerns and distrust of Shade's gambit. But Orange appears to have bought into him checking alignment/character, so mafia may have as well. That would make him a prime target to kill, or to just block since they have a stealth role block. Player Reads: OrangeP47 (town or mafia, no hard read): He has contributed to the discussion during the game, as always. But his discussion reads to me as somebody looking for opportunities to push cases, not to hunt scum. One of the players who has claimed no ability to do anything at night. Killing_You (town with a gambit; or TP/mafia): I don't believe his claims so far. He's either pulling off a town gambit (not likely). Or he's making a fake claim as TP or mafia. I suspect the latter given his actions and how the game is playing out right now. Category 5 (town): Killed Louis with a daykill. He seemed to legit be aiming for mafia, so I don't know how he could be anything but town. ChopBam ( mafia): Used a hostile action N1, has not contributed much during the game. Seems to be one of his mafia metas. As explained above, I strongly suspect mafia given his actions. Mojoman (no read): Used a day action to protect OrangeP47 on D1. I haven't paid close attention to him, so I don't really have a read. Anon_Kat (Shade 2.0?): No meta or anything else to go off. Just because of the apparent game balance, I suspect a two man mafia team which means he most likely wouldn't be mafia. Retaliation (likely town): Has been open and honest about his actions (i.e. visiting Irishman). And since I'm now siding with town... ##vote ChopBam

Maybe? But if I'm working with town my biggest threat won't just be the scum reads I have. Anyone can come up with a read. Exactly.

It will give me night BP? If so, give me a couple minutes to get back to my computer and type up my reads and info. If it doesn't work and I die due to a night kill, you're my likely target for revenge.

Even so, I have no reason to play along with that and take any risks with him.
