  1. I'm pretty sure this is already part of the gameplay, but the difference between the both of them (in terms of DPS, ROF) are not very obvious apart from the RPG trooper having that projectile drop. I can't say much in regards to the Strela vs Redeye though, since I haven't played air maps long enough to make a more educated opinion since the release of Delta.

  2. Right now when you hit a tank's rear spot it does more damage vs the front. But what if instead we let the damage directly pass through to internal health? This way if you keep on hitting its rear, a tank can be destroyed without even depleting its armor. Tank battles will involve much more flanking, spinning and attacking from the rear.

At the same time, probably integrate tank module damage and...wait a minute, this isn't World of Tanks! :v:

So basically what you are suggesting is to make shots to the rear function the same way as infantry armor, where a good chunk of that damage is dealt directly to the health while their actual armor is just slowly being chewed away? I'd think it's definitely something to try out from a tank vs tank (or anti-armor infantry e.g. RS/shock/volkov) standpoint.

However, for units that aren't specialized at dispatching armor (e.g. ranger/APC, riflemen/captains), how much of a damage bleed should they be capable of doing? I don't wish to find myself as a MBT that (literally) got my ass handed to me because some machinegun unit was able to destroy my vehicle quickly and easily as a side effect of this idea.

  3. Might it be considered cheating if you use a skin texture that enhances the visibility of units? Say, you turned Heavy Tanks into a bright neon pink so that it stands out against the background on Wasteland...

It could be, but it is entirely dependent on the server owner's discretion on what textures can or cannot be used when joining their server. MP-Gaming for example did not allow snipers to be retextured, and their sniper scopes should not appear translucent outside of the scope itself.

With this texturepack, I made sure every unit's house color (especially ones with multiple camos) did not appear oversaturated, that way they do not stand out as easily as their differently colored variants.

  4. Looks awesome, cool idea :)

It was originally V0LK0V's & Kicken's concept to turn all the units to their blue/red house colors. BigCheese256 somewhat expanded this concept in Cold Fusion/Nuclear Winter by using a different house color (yellow, green, etc) and applying it to an entire side's arsenal. By the time Gamma came out, I basically combined the ideas of V0LK0V, Kicken and BigCheese and made the texture pack to what it is now. Just some credit where credit is due.

  5. Well, I do hope some changes for coastal influence are in order, but what is this arty problem everyone is talking about- I've only played on the map twice, and I have not seen the problem- is the allied arty able to hit sovs from in base?

The "arty problem" in Coastal Influence is moreso the allies being able to attack parts of the soviet base from across the bridge, without much need to traverse it. So in the event of the bridge getting destroyed, the allies have the siege advantage. The soviets, on the other hand, are not able to hit the allied base from their side of the bridge.

  6. I always thought snipers, especially in Renegade were too simple to use. All you have to do is point at someguy's head, click, and b00m they're dead.

With snipers as they are now in APB, you actually need to take into consideration other factors like you would an actual sniper such as bullet travel time, drop, and inaccuracy (though this is moreso the work of RNGsus in this regard).

Especially now that APB has support for higher hitscan thresholds (> 400 m/s projectile speed), I find the changes done to the snipers more justifiable for what they are now.

  7. If you want to play your games at higher framerates but can live without the extra eye candy, you can probably get away with a Nvidia GTX 750 Ti

The one I linked goes for $110, and your power supply meets the minimum power requirement to run (300 watts).

This card should play old games (like TSR or anything W3D for that matter) at the highest possible settings while more modern titles can be played with slightly lowered settings.

  8. I go by DRattman on WoT (NA), and I've been playing since 2012. I enjoy playing mediums and heavies and I am a total shill for the Russian Bias, with the T-34/-85 being my outright favorite tanks to play. I also own a number of American, German, and Chinese tanks and am going through their respective medium and heavy lines.

I haven't played WoT in months though, as I usually play the game in binges/bursts whenever I feel like it. During my last binge, I've been mostly playing my mediums and bought myself the Easy-8 and A-43 in the process. It was also during this time that I began to adopt a more conservative style of gameplay, including playing a support/sniping role. As my last most recent performance statistics show, adopting this playstyle has served me relatively well.

  9. I have TWC here in my area, and up until last year I was paying $70 monthly for 30 mbps down/5 mbps up. Since then, TWC rolled out massive upgrades and now I get to have 200 mbps down/20 mbps up at no extra charge. What's good is that the speeds are mostly consistent even during peak hours, sometimes dipping to ~180 mbps download, but I'd say it's a good tradeoff sometimes since the upgrade is completely free.

  10. @Pyryle: So its a coffee type of response? OK, theres the answer. FINALLY! Now, drink your coffee, and (perhaps) smoke your cigarettes. Then get back to work. It is how society functions, and you ARE, the solid citizen (of society). You are the "concerned" (whitebread) citizen.

    I gladly will.

Smoking crack? Meh, you end up losing alot of product that way. Best off not cooking the yeyo, and just snorting it. The whole lighting technique is annoying, half the shit gets melted and sticks to the pipe. You should come to me for your needs. No tricks, I promise. Only killer product.

    Your product sucks.

Well well, it looks like you are the cure now. Which makes sense, you were the guy who cured APB by wiping up some awesome band aids, back in your hey day. Or was it the other guy, Pushwall, or something that did that? Regardless, have a drink already you old bastard! Its on the house.

The Cure, as in that 80s Goth band? Also, Pushwall and I collaborated closely for the past 2 public versions of APB, so it was not just him "or something that did that". Anyways, free drinks are always welcome.

Now papa, do not concern yourself with "transportation". That effort is futile. Don't have another heart attack on us, you senile old fool. I've now taken away your crack pipes. If you want that Columbian bride in white, get it from your greatest son (me), and use your nose on it. Do NOT cook it. My recommendation.

I still say it sucks, and being a shill for your own product is not helpful. NOW GO TO YOUR ROOM!
