  1. Here are the newest concepts. We've changed some of the details for a few of the characters, and we've updated the camouflage for all of the units as well. We also had to make a new Minigunner concept to accommodate the change in camouflage. Let me know what you guys think about all of this and give me any suggestions you have for making the concepts more true to their TD counterparts. EDIT: I just noticed the GDI Minigunner has black straps and pouches. I'll get that corrected ASAP.

  5. Here's the concept for the Technician. I'm thinking the color of the pouches and the bag for the GDI Technician need to be changed, but let me know what you guys think.
  6. Keyword: "prefer". Not forcing or starting drama. We accounted for that we have no word or control over what somebody's launcher can do. I'm not looking at that part of the quote. I'm looking at the part where OWA says, "We are willing to remove APB from our launcher if the developers request it, so we only ask that you give us the same liberty."
  7. Well pretty much all of the C&C community knows what happened by now, and that means a lot of people are checking out both sites to see the aftermath. So while it won't be a permanent thing, for the moment there will be a lot of publicity for everyone involved. Reasonable or not, I doubt it came down to "we have no other choice."
  8. Honestly, I think the split is going to give both sides plenty of publicity.
  9. The Calico M951 is the weapon used in the Minigunner image as you can see in the following video from Calico. For the Nod Minigunner I would suggest the M16A2, but if we're restricted to the list you've provided then I think the AK-74 would be the best choice (The AK-12 didn't exist at the time and the M4 was created only a year before the conflict). I can't really give an opinion on the Commando having a weapon that isn't a sniper rifle, because I've only focused on what he was like in the original game. If you're interested, my sniper rifle choices are the OSV-96 for Nod and the M82A1 for GDI.

  13. I'm a little disappointed by TS, but only because it never reached its full potential. There were so many amazing things they planned to add but never did.
  14. ACK, you wound me. Nice models though. I like the integration of the cutscene material into the lower level of the refinery.
  15. Well since the Minigunner is essentially the base for every unit we planned on using his model with face and equipment changes for different classes. I should probably think more into what we'll be doing in regards to the characters.
  16. Do you mean like how you spawn as a rifle soldier in APB/TSR and have to purchase another infantry unit in order to play as it? Or do you mean actually buying the weapons for the character you're playing as? What are you talking about? I'm still "gauging the response of the community," because we're still making things for the game. This game exists for the sake of nostalgia, so their opinions on the things that we make should be important. But like I just said, I'm going to press our artists to take their work to Polycount so they can improve their skills. Am I not allowed to have our artists post on Polycount while I post here? I'm confused as to what isn't getting through.
  17. If my intention was to learn how to improve the quality of our work, I would have had our artists post here themselves. In addition to keeping everyone updated on our progress and trying to recruit new members, I'm here to gauge the response of the community and to get advice on how to make our assets look more like their C&C counterparts. That being said, I will press our artists to take their work to Polycount so that they can learn more about what they're doing.

"If you haven't already, I would recommend you take your work to polycount.com and gather some opinions on your work. The users there can be very harsh at times, but they give good advice. This is just a suggestion, not a requirement, but if you want to learn more, polycount is one of the good places to go." Also, I listened to and respected your opinion and advice whenever you gave it.
  19. And I'm hoping that history will not repeat itself, the collective "reasoning with" I received on that forum was little more than childish berating. Well if things continue to go as smoothly as they have been, you won't have to wait very long.
  20. Here are the updated versions of all three concepts.
  21. Nod has the Obelisk and the Turret, the GDI has the Guard Tower and Advanced Guard Tower.
  22. The entire flamethrower will be green when we actually model and texture him. In hindsight, it should have been included in the concept, but I was more concerned with showing off the character rather than the weapon. EDIT: I've relayed the changes, it would probably be easier for the texture artist to have it all consolidated into one reference. Expect to see the updated version soon.
