  1. We can always do what the APB Thief does, steal 50% instantly, that's what happens in RA2. I just thought this would be more fair as he can do many other things in the enemy base.I'm hesitant to preach RA2-lism for many reasons, but it's not to difficult to visualize what kind of balance/imbalance we'd have in a game of 10-14 players. I'm all for testing both methods. Gives the spy a good opportunity to stay in the refinery and defend the hack node. Better yet, throw the hack node thing into the APB server for a day or two and let technicians and golden wrenches fix it. That'll give you more data for balance testing, won't it?
  2. Is there a timer on that? What if nobody is at the base? Soviets could be planning a massive attack on the Allies and the Spy uses the time to hack the refinery. That's a poor risk/reward mechanism, but that's what testers are for.
  3. I'm not going to do Death Note. If Verti needs time to set up a new flavor mafia game I'll host a simplified intermission game with an open setup (which means everyone can know the roles in the game and what they do, but won't know who has what role). It'll help some of the new players get a feel for the basics before joining the big leagues.

  7. If I were to design a complex version of a game with the DeathNote flavor I would create an introduction story to show the basic concepts of the flavor. Deep flavor knowledge wouldn't be necessary for the game since a flavor game shouldn't be designed around canon flavor anyway. That would give certain players a big advantage over others. On the other hand, I'm more than willing to leave the complex game designs to Verti who has much more experience than I do when it comes to flavor games. If Verti feels overwhelmed with the demand for flavor mafia games I could GM some standard mafia during the down time.
  8. That's EXACTLY why I am complaining We (mostly me ) found last scum as early as D5 but could not remove him from the game by any means we had for the last 3 days and technically lost. It just feels wrong, I admit. Idk, maybe Cat5 can explain it better. You could have lynched me. I just made you think you couldn't.
  9. Just as the poll says, I believe a mafia game themed around Death Note would make for a fun game with a lot of role possibilities. What I have jotted down for it right now is a simple version, though, and nowhere near as "complex" as Verti or Cat5 games might be. Thus, the poll question.
  10. I say crazy things, and with the way this game went I would be called crazy for suggesting this. But I would also be correct and it would make the discussion shift away from the vortex, which is what scum does not want.

  15. Verti, any interesting "what-if" alternate timeline scenarios you could tell us about? Like, what would have happened if Nodlied had been allowed to come back via Soviet Engineer? What power would Moonsense have gotten if he'd been resurrected?
  16. Thanks Verti Serious question for everyone. Any interest in achievements for mafia games? No real meaning. Just as worthless as Steam or Xbox achievements. But still fun to achieve.

  18. Thanks for fixing the link. May I have my big red text title now? This was an awesome and fun game, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading all the docs. Also, I am 100% satisfied with the game ending as it seems like a "true" ending out of four possible endings.
  19. I did have an action. It was ##Dismantle. I had to use that to change into a Spy, and it meant that for one night I would not kill visitors and Snipers would see me using it. That's why I chose to wait until KY said he'd used his Sniper ability.
  20. Like I said I don't understand how scum changing roles to gain a nightkill ability seemed impossible.
  21. Bottom line is, by pushing something that was out of the realm of possibility into the realm of possibility, I made what was actually possible seem impossible. That's the objective of playing as scum, no?
