  1. Go ahead I guess? It's already a bit annoying having to completely overlook Pokemon because of how long it would take to train them, so I wouldn't really get in the way of a relatively minor cost reduction. At most, someone would save what? 2 Pokecoins if they had three different Pokemon they wanted to try and train before the game ended that could all learn that one TM? Edit: Yeah, they'd only save 2 poke coins then, since they still have to buy it the first time.
  2. It's a hidden message the GM left for everyone to read in the first post of the thread...
  3. Well, on the plus side it was a level 30 NPC, so the odds of having to fight multiple battles in a row isn't as high.
  4. I regret to inform you, but I'm allowed to speculate about game mechanics all I want.
  5. To be fair, it's worth stating that might be multiple NPC trainers at a location, so in order to clear that location you need to beat them all. IN that case if you're lucky, you might actually get a choice to leave after beating this guy instead of continuing on, and your progress would be saved for the next trainer.
  6. Because it's what I would have considered doing for exploring locations. If everyone could pick a location it would have been a single encounter, but since only one players actions need to be resolved, that means you can have multiple encounters possibly.
  7. Plus, you might run into traps, that would apply a random status effect before your next battle.
  8. Unless there is something special about it. There's a pretty large unknown variable in terms of what happens when a location is investigated, especially if a rocket member investigates a location.
  9. By the way @Jeod, why do you want to investigate Route 34 instead of any other of the four locations?
  10. You should probably wait until you see what you actually get out of the investigation, and what you lose for failing it. Rather than thanking somebody for what's probably the equivalent of throwing you under a bus...
  11. It depends on the presence of a NK mainly, which was completely lacking from the last game, but for the most part, I suspect that failing an investigation or a battle should result in the player's Pokemon fainting to keep those two options balanced out vs. each other.
  12. This is a game isn't it? It has rules that everyone follows and are in place to make certain it's actually balanced to each side?
  13. You mean you want to investigate today, fail the investigation, and force us to do the exact same day action on another day...
  14. The only way it could happen is if you keep your current vote....
  15. Are you saying you intention is to battle today?
  16. And you think you can beat me with one of your weaker Pokemon?
  17. Didn't you plan on using one of your weaker Pokemon in the first place in order to do the investigation?
  18. I can battle someone else if you don't want the items.
  19. Not much, really it's just waiting and seeing if anything happens this first day. Most of the actual constructive stuff happens based on what night actions players use, hence why day one is generally so boring and you can't get much done.
