  1. Just going to point out what the GM said here. about investigations.
  2. Fair enough, I'll just keep with the option that I consider more likely to actually benefit Town than the unknown variable.
  3. We could possibly have characters with an advantage that improve's there odds of completely an investigation now, but assuming you're only going in with a level 10 Pokemon and no items, it should be a safe bet that you're going to fail the investigation. And I consider that to be rather obvious information that doens't need to be verified, after all a new character isn't going to be ready for most of the encounters in a game until they've actually leveled up some.
  4. That's part of why the odds of losing a Pokemon to an investigation should be higher than 50/50. My assumption would be Orange expected us to partake in investigation with Pokemon more around level 30, and we'd also have healing items to help them recover from status effects on top of that.
  5. What make you think your odds are 50/50 at game start?
  6. That's still one out of three strikes in that case though.
  7. The problem would be if whoever we sent to investigate lost their Pokemon to the challenge though. If they fail the challenge and lose a Pokemon, that's probably not something they can easily recover from, and the only thing we learned is we need to prepare more for the investigations. Which alternatively could also be determined by preparing someone ahead of time, then going on the investigation and figuring out they could pass the challenge.
  8. Yeah, I'm not that confident that any better suggestions could be made for day one. ##rocket Shade939 ##nominate Retaliation
  9. I do prefer it to an investigation at the moment. Because even in the worst case scenario a Town member losing would still get items.
  10. I'm pretty much convinced that in order for it to be a viable option for balancing, investigating a location has to pose some serious risk to whoever undertakes it. Since the alternative choice would be to have two trainers battle each other and one of them lose a Pokemon.
  11. Nope, I deny any and all charges of being a member of team rocket.
  12. Feeling confident about dealing with whatever dangers might be out there?
  13. Hugh, surprisingly enough I think i'm actually against investigating a location today. It's useful to figure out what actually happens when you investigate a location, but at the moment I don't think we'd be prepared for any sort of danger that might be present there at game start, so it seems might be a suicide mission at the moment.
  14. Fair enough, I don't really think challenges would serve that purpose you'd want to use them for in that case.
  15. It depends on what you want to do with it, but it's easy to abuse that mechanic if it requires a majority vote to stop it.
  16. If they have enough time to veto the challenge though. There at least needs to be a time limit to give players a chance to veto a challenge.
  17. With the exception of challenging a player which seems to overrule everything else?
  18. Well, I like it. I wish we could catch Pokémon in these areas also, but there's definetely a good arguement to have an alternative day action to forcing two trainers to fight each other. Might be annoying if those two two choices end up interfering with each other though, and basically prevent us from using one of the options, so it doesn't actaully end up effecting game play.
  19. To be fair, it did create a rather epic sounding ending though, where a Prince of the Empire revealed a hunting rifle at the very last moment before ending the threat of Yuri and cementing his future rule of the Empire. Still, the gun did manage to become the focus of the entire game and needed to be nerfed so it wasn't the deciding factor of who won, and the other mechanics could be more prevalent.
  20. Unless players don't get rewarded for winning battles, I don't think a rival system is really necessary to convince players that they should engage in actual battles though.
  21. This is still a pretty powerful Town setup, and Town should be weakened so it's not as easy to clear Town players. The only two Town players that couldn't prove their role this game were the missile subs. And even then they could still be targeted by the Sub-Pen.
  22. If it makes you feel any better the vortex didn’t disappear until it teleported another three Soviet vessels after the game ended.
  23. I would have enjoyed mocking the foolish mortals who thought that destroying a device capable of distorting time and space itself was a good idea.
