When I was between 6-8 my friend brought over red alert. I thought it was cool to watch but I didn't understand how to play it at all. Fast forward to 2004~ and I saw a copy of RA2 at another friends house and borrowed it. I got really into it and one day I saw the expansion at the store "bundled with TS and renegade" so I bought it. Never really played TS but I did try renegade. Of course renegade never worked well "ati rage pro" graphics card. Probably a Pentium 2 processor
but I could play the first mission. In 2005 my parents bought us a new pc. Was a Pentium 4. I ended up getting a lot more games, just as KOTOR and Jedi Knight. I also got into this Petz game for a little bit and found a lot of custom content for it which eventually lead me to realize that the same may be true for other games. So I discovered mods for RA2 and that rabbit hole lead me to search for mods for every game I had Including renegade. I found apb in late 2005 but didn't play online until late 2006
Looking back, I'm not sure why I didn't play online at first? Maybe I didn't know? Maybe that was in the time window where the project was basically dead and there were no servers? Not sure. Probably so, because I do remember the first time I saw some activity and some new stuff. Man thats all a blur now.... Sorry for the paragraphs guys, I don't know the meaning of "brief" obviously
There was definitely no server when I first played. I hosted a game and someone actually joined and told me the game was moving to battlefield 2 engine several months later I checked again and found the conflict area's server.

I play in 2560x1080
I don't think I had to do anything special for that

Take the hard drive and ram out of the laptop and see if the screen comes on when powering it on If it does, add either the ram or the hard drive back. When it stops working the last part you put in is bad. If it doesn't work from the beginning it's the motherboard or CPU. You can then follow the above advice but honestly I'd just start saving for a new laptop.

Ive discussed this on a networking forum. The problem was with people who used teamviewer accounts and didnt secure it properly. This included the use of poor passwords, lack of proper organisational policy (especially for those who use group/business version).
I use teamviewer, i have a teamviewer account, a teamviewer service running in the background and i was not hacked because i didnt share the account/devices with anyone, i had everything set up with authentication properly.
It is only partly teamviewer's fault, humans are flawed and its actually really easy to trick people.
Well yeah I think that is most of it. But the fact that it happened to so many people at around the same time does make it look like something more.

Logmein works pretty well too, definitely more expensive then free though

Oh him... He was unbeatable. I used to think he was part cyborg.Yeah, if you count of all time I'd say: a1ph4riu5
I think he was all around the best player, or at least top 5
Oh, I once took down his volkov with a single rifle solider on ridgewar.
One of the two biggest highlights of my APB life
What was the OTHER one?
Killing Cuddling's allied sniper 3 times in a row with my soviet sniper.
You know back when the soviet sniper had the accuracy of a musket and the firepower of a pellet gun.

I feel like all the good players I'm scared of aren't around anymore, as far as current player base goes.
Silverlight, because of the above reasons.

Oh, another thing about the Mirage tank...you know how in APB and TSR vehicles almost never come to a complete stop? How will you get the Mirage tank to stay in tree form if it keeps moving around, or will there be a brake function to keep it in place?
I haven't had that issue in it.
This is usually only an issue for wheeled vehicles.

Not sure what you mean by dial up, sounds like your trying to use the phone as a hotspot/tethering?
I would tether if possible, it should be more stable
I don't know how TS is but when I play yuri's revenge over a lan connection about 50% of my games have at least one player booted, haven't played online as much though so I cant say about that I assume the networking in the games is quite similar.

Didin't filefront change hands several times? I remember the original owner buying it back at some point? I guess that didn't last...

I have a few things from apb/renegade on filefront, I do wonder how many communities are trying to download everything from filefront now...

I feel TWT and Bonsai are too similar, so unless there's something else really attractive and unique about TWT, it's not worth the remake.
I think TWT is much better then bonsai, I mean what exactly do you mean by similar? Gameplay? theme?

Looks like I'm a little late but here is what I'd love to see come to delta
1. RA_Ivory_Wastelands.mix (base layouts heavily modified, no cliffs.)
2. RA_NorthByNorthwest.mix (probably my favorite apb map, honestly feel like it could just be ported as is though.)3. RA_Alpine_Lake.mix (needs a lot of work but it's very nostalgic for me.)
4. RA_ShallowGrave.mix (expanded lake? River with a bridge coming over one side of the map?)
5. RA_Volcano.mix ( I don't know why but I've always liked this map even if the volcano is just a lol hill.)1 -
This engine doesn't support good melee gameplay unfortunately

Edit: not to be misleading but i think TSR has a very C&C and base commando feel just like renegade has but it is something w3dhub made whereas RA APB was something w3dhub acquired.
Heh, apatbeyond was developed by BHP as was AR, Reborn was made by a separate team but all 3 teams worked together as BHP for a great deal of time. W3D was formed by some key BHP staff. It's actually it's pretty complex how many people worked on the 3 games and how many people crossed over between them.

I am not a dev but, half of these have already been answered with no. So just read the rest of the topic and AR news forum for your answers.
Not quite, many of these things are planed or already implemented!
Navy is a bit out so I won't comment on that but will post this:
The Chrono miner works like you would expect it too.
You can toggle between the normal IFV turret and your current infantry turret
The game currently has support for country specific units.
I'll leave the rest for a producer to answer.

I remember they were buggy with some widescreen resolutions

So I guess, airstrike would just be called in the same way as the nuke...and do more or less the same thing, but weaker?
I suppose they wouldn't be disarm-able like nuke flares

Spy Plane: What would the use of this thing be? Why would I use it over something like binoculars?
Ok! Quick idea: Spy plane is scripted to fly over the allied base, but can be shot down, when it does so it has the same effect as the spy in Barracks/War Factory logic, So it would tell the soviets the makeup of all the allied units. Also on maps with Gap generator it could disable the Gap generator for a short time.
On the subject of planes, I remember (vaguely) a Yak being modeled and ready to go, with some wonky WIP fixed wing physics testing being shown off to the public. Do we still have it? I was thinking that it would be nice to allow Soviets access to an air strike. Place a yellow flare, moments later a swarm of Yaks pepper the area with bullets. Might be useful for softening up a base during an attack or checking for Phases lying in ambush.
That was some seriously creative thinking but it wouldn't really work... I don't know if I can go into detail about how that was working but it wasn't actually fixed wing physics.
I like the idea for the Yakks, but I'm not sure how accurate they would be or how well they could target moving unit's.
Just some quick idea's for the other unit's if they ever were implemented just for the sake of it.
Cruiser: This would likely require a major re-balance of navel gameplay, but it would have to be super slow and inaccurate maybe a build limit of 1 or 2. It's size could be an issue as well. It would have been nice to at least have a model so it could have been seen in seamist.
Chronotank: I like the idea of it working like the reborn underground vehicles, even if the speed isn't increased just being able to move around the map without being target-able is nice. Obviously the phase tank and Chrono tank would need to have separate but clearly defined roles.
Migs: Would be cool to see volkov be able to call these in like Boris does in Yuri's revenge. Of course volkovs anti-infantry abilities would have to be toned down, and likely his cannon's strength vs buildings.
