See, one of the things I haven't mentioned before is that the idea that you can sabotage after death suggests that you have to be on a team. What point is there in a neutral trying to wreck people when they've already lost the game?

Because it's something I requested so I could test it out? Just to rephrase what I said before, the standard way a neutral survivor is setup gives them a strong incentive to just be another member of the town. What I requested shouldn't do that. Yeah, there's still a little more incentive to help town than to just be neutral (town controls the lynch). But it's not "help town as much as you can and just hide behind people so you don't die". Anyone with a standard kill action can just kill me, I'm not going to deny that. But it does carry the "unprovable until it happens" risk that I will cripple you and/or your faction for the rest of the game.

You may not see the point in that, but I do. So we can agree to disagree, and you are free to waste a lynch on me and see just what I can do in retaliation. The very fact that you're hesitant to do so proves my point about it.

Part of what compels me to sus on ILTS so much is the previous Loki gambit, but another part of it is what if this isn't a Loki gambit, but a different gambit designed to take advantage of the fact that we're all aware of the Loki gambit.  Instead of being TP pretending to be neutral he's mafia pretending to be TP pretending to be neutral.

I mean, if you want to get into meta/WIFOM arguments like that, why would I do that as mafia? There would be ample opportunities for me to blend in as town. However, that's bad for me as a neutral that needs to survive. If I pretend to be town and mafia believe it, that makes me an NK target.

In other words, I have every reason to claim neutral if I really am neutral or if I'm TP pretending to be neutral. I would only claim town if I was town or mafia. I'm only on your list to lynch right now because I've chosen to act this way. This isn't a case of "subverting expectations". Claiming mafia and saying "lynch me!" as mafia would be totally against my meta and "subverting expectations". It'd also be completely idiotic.

  4. Here is one thought. IF there's a mafia team (which is still a sure bet and there's likely just two), their win condition most likely means they have to take out town AND third party. I'm neutral and have a win condition to survive until the game ends, so I know mafia doesn't need to eliminate neutrals to win. But a living TP towards the end probably counts against a win condition to exceed the number of town players.

So, mafia would win when they meet or exceed the remaining town + TP. If I remember correctly, that's how Endgame worked. The game went on when I was Loki even though mafia would have outnumbered town. So yeah, taking out TP Louis was beneficial to town (I assumed she was going to be mafia after that one comment) it was also beneficial to mafia.

At this point, I would be honest if I was actually TP and not neutral because you can't afford to lynch either alignment right now. If you go after a neutral, you forfeit a chance to get mafia. If you go after a TP, you eliminate a potential threat to town (if it is a TP with anti-town goals) and bring mafia one kill closer to winning.

So, have it your way. Scum hunt or go after neutrals/TP and lose. My offer still stands to actively help in scum hunting, but it's going to require protection that I believe is guaranteed. Until then, I'm only providing minor help if any.

@iLikeToSnipe hey, does it count as keeping you alive if I tell you I had that action typed in and ready with your name on it right after your neutral claim, and then decided not to use it yet?

I'll count it as a good will gesture. Though I'm still limited in what I can do without protection. I'm happy to help town (or even mafia) if I have protection to live through to the end. I'm trying to balance the good graces of both right now. I presume mafia need to kill town to win and town needs to kill mafia to win. So there's more of reason for either to focus on the other. But if I start posing a significant threat to either, then I'm toast.

Louis seemed to imply she was deliberately passed the shard... now Shade was still alive at the time, so he could have been the one to do it... or it could have been someone else...

Mechanically though, would she know the difference? I can't think of anyone besides Shade with a roleclaim that item would fit. The other possibilities are Retal, ChopBam, and anon, I don't think they have made any claims.

  7. Out of all the possibilities, the last thing I expected Louis to be was TP...

On the topic of the mysterious shard and Shade, if they are linked, wouldn't the shard go out randomly to somebody N0/N1? Shade's phylactery went randomly to KY after he was lynched.

That would be a big yikes! Didn't realize we might be that close.

Keep in mind Shade is 99.9% coming back from the dead if KY doesn't destroy his phylactery. I'm thinking he's either actually town or TP, I'd only buy his neutral claim if KY flipped non-neutral. But with what's happened, I have more reason to believe that KY is neutral than Shade. And if Shade is indeed TP, then I think we've got two mafia.

I mean, Shade made these threats and look where it got him.

Shade is temporarily dead and at the mercy of KY. I can be killed easily by anyone with a kill action. But I at least have something to make me a threat if somebody tries to take me out.

With Shade out of the game, ILTS is the new Shade.

Liches do vary based on the medium, but with what I'm familiar with Shade isn't "dead" until that heart is stabbed. He could come back anytime over the next few phases.

You keep talking like you know who belongs to which faction, and the implication of that bugs me a lot.

If you're town, you should be able to figure it out without my help. If you're scum, you should be worried if you have any plans to take me out.

Nobody should be thinking of me as a "classic" neutral like in past games on these forums. I'm in this for myself only. Town is not in a position to waste a lynch on me. Mafia aren't in a position to waste a kill on me as long as I'm not strongly assisting town.

So, if you're town and want some actual help find some way to guarantee my safety. Otherwise, all my cards stay close to my chest.

    :v

  12. I was just thinking "we really need more people to start participating"... but that's really not my concern at this point.

I'll assist town a little bit, they're the ones "in power" right now. But I am not going to take on any serious investigative work. I'm only committing to a faction if they actually work to keep me alive.

As an example, I'm pretty sure this is wrong because the ticket has no actions on it's own. It just gives you a one time passive.

What I thought would happen is that nobody (except maybe a power action that trumped roleblocks) could actually perform any action on Irish until they first visited him and got a ticket. "Visiting" him would include both actions and item passes. So you could pass an item to him, it would not be blocked, and you would still get a ticket.

  14. Just now, Category 5 Hurricane said:

Well, I figured the roleblock would be used on TheIrishman to pass his defenses. However, I think we can already tell that a roleblock wasn't used on TheIrishman, suggesting that scum had another way to reach him. That doesn't solve the question as to why Louis would be "extra roleblocked", however.

Anyone know if the Dragon Balls (according to DBZ lore) could affect anyone just by holding them? The only other person we know of to have one was Irishman. Nobody else has claimed having the third one, so I suspect KY either is lying and there were only two or mafia has the third one and is keeping quiet.
