I really like how Momok is fully aiming at your face as if he would be saying "I am gonna getcha" while I am in a (beautifully rendered unicorn particle fog) hurdur-moment just looking somewhere random.

Does anybody have a shot of the full 360 front and sideflip in our rangerbump of this map, though?

  2. Another kind of question though. What resolution does your game run in and in which does your game start? (I had the problem with the ECW release and was able to fix it this way. Need to check it again though.)

If you can't state your resolution, open the engine.cfg with a notepad in this directory:

    C:\Users\XXX\Documents\W3D Hub\games\apb-release

I left those rear passages as a backup to be re-opened...

Wouldn't it be easier to open up the front beach then? The Secret is axed and thus the bunkers get another purpose. But people have not tried to do an infantry rush this side though yet. This way several parts of the soviet part of the castle could be made up with  several blown up holes (To follow your previously stated theme) which would encourage people to counter any allied threat with infantry upon the castle. That may shift balance though.

I like Siege. It is kind of comparable to ToTheCore though. Some people had a 'small' discussion on the teamspeak several weeks ago ( @Voe, member?) and concluded that it's kind of a meatgrinder. But some did appreciate it. Some did not. My personal conclusion from this discussion was that various people like a meatgrinder because that's kind of a part of map diversity. But and that's my point, ToTheCore is a really big meatgrinder with various opportunities to turn the match around while the vehicle part of Siege is pretty much concentrated at the edge of the castle or the 'Entrances' to each of the bases. (which would make 3 vehicle hotspots [and if you include every base eachself it would be 5]). That may change over time though as people figure out how to use infantry and aircraft on this map properly. (I fully agree with Raptor here. Don't forget the OT 'rushes' to break a stalemate.)

BTW, has the secret something to do with  the chirping wonderwall?

    (frankly boring) MCT repair job

Thanks for pointing these two things out. I'm split between either opinion. The golden wrench is an option to do a fast (boring) job. You're able to counter an attack that already happened and is happening.

If it's discarded people might repair even less.

At the same time... It's pretty easy to imagine that people get pissed off if a bunnyhopping engineer is able to outjump 3 people attacking the Refinery and thus able to keep it alive. (even though that requires ones skillset and teamwork anyway)

If we keep the golden wrench I'd say that the engineer needs to be (a tad) slower.

  5. No, but you made presumably the mistake to write it in lowercase letters in the first case.

    is your nickname.

If you're talking about the launcher, that's bound with your account on this website, thus it's written in lowercase letters again.

I hope that clears a bit of your confusion :)

  6. That's a pretty interesting difference in state run id's compared to Germany then. Your place and Identity-card are stored in 2 seperate databases. If you move, you have to register in the city you're now living in depending you have a stable household and do not move in a timezone of 6 months.

The ID's are given to every citizen (since 2013 with online services which are not really in use by the general public.^^) and are required to be in possesion (to be identified) most of the time and are either given out or you'll have to get it at the age of 18. Otherwise you'll get a fine. But that hasn't happened at least in my environment :D

But your address is printed upon the ID-Card so I still have no idea why they're storing it in seperate databases.

partially as policy analysis, and have written a minor, unpublished study on traffic safety, so if you have any questions about American driving and BS state laws, I'm kind of an expert, so ask away ;)

As a journalist or well trying to? Even though it's a dry subject, well, someone has to handle it. That's everywhere the case. But even though it's dry it seems interesting.

(Is there a law in Illinois for elephant-riding like in Florida?)

And I'm enjoying the new patch of path of exile as I recently discovered the game again

  7. I have no plans for this weekend as I take life as it comes around at the moment. (An unorganized german, wat? :D But more time for testing.) And Zelda looks promising, Fray. Time for you to start a youtube channel, get famous and do some promotion for our hub :v. (But have a good time with the game once you get the Switch :))

Just me and my brain, but you have to renew your license in the states? On a federal or a state level? Seems to be pretty new as you said. (I know, a quick google search could have answered that question but meh). Focus on driving and you'll be fine. You have the experience. :)

Have a nice weekend and we'll see us in APB/TS:R, a small playercrowd is like a light in a night in a life of a moth for me. :)(Puns intended)

  8. Yip. You fed the self acclaimed Master Lords of Kane with videos about that.

(If you've ever played ECW which indeed was at one point possible before on moddb the old w3d Engine is truly showing off some of it's capabilities.)

Gameplaywise as the others already stated this would need a complete revamp of some off the current mechanics. And the horrible horrible lag/framedrops (directx11 without VIS? Newer Graphics Cards get 7 FPS, I get 16).

I dunno but I always had the feeling that there was somewhat a memleak in the original engine but I'm no Techieguy.

  9. 'Wesrwood'. :p. Pretty interesting, but for the point of technological advancements... Most of the 'european' scientists that either were used and split (or chose to leave europe) in our Second Great War are alive and in Europe. 'Working together.' I always thought that this was kind of westwood's explanation for nearly everything technological based upon the emphasis of scientists in the cutscenes of RA1.

Remember the Chronosphere? Protect our Lab! (RA1)

(Member Einstein? Member that russian abombguy? Member Iron Curtain? Member Tesla?)

Let's just assume that most of the scientists were not taken by the west and east and got more funding in these times instead. Germany was bigger and the recession might have provoked the thought that only technological advancements are able to solve this problem. Same with France and England which maybe were able to solve these problems you mentioned in the time until the start of RA's Great War and thus had a vast pool of resources still at hand. (Which could still be lower than the industrial military output in our time and thus had to take everything they got [Lend-Lease])

Edit: Why do they have to mine ore on the battlefield? Because both sides are either short on resources or need these (Allies) for funding (Because the military output is still lower than in our timeline :p) or they're constructing them on spot (Soviet). I thought that may be worth noting^^

I think this would kind of be able to fill this loophole :p. Even though I still need to admit that it's not perfect.

Another Loophole would be that Lt. Eva in RA2 says that the Allied Forces have never done a full naval assault (Can't remember the full sentence^^) which points towards a japanese homeland invasion not happening.
