Agreed, and thanks to scum's misstep we also know that if there is a way to speed up the process, they haven't discovered it yet. Ironic that scum's action would lead us to find more helpful information.

Fear, Anger, Hate, Suffering, Dark Side Five tiers. That gives us plenty of time to work with if scum is more like a cult in this game. Good thinking, Retaliation.

My apologies Shade, I simply acted upon the best angle I could see from my point of view. I think I understand how you think better now, so next time perhaps I won't take such issue with your choice of words. To echo Irish: yes, I do hope to see you play in CYOR III (which may have a Disney theme if the signed players are open to it). Irish, that was masterfully played. You'll be a tough opponent to beat.

If you're town you should play the duel, regardless of what me and Cat5 think. Otherwise why play at all? Anything can happen between this duel and the next Council phase. Your win condition is more important than what other players read you as.

I'm not too bothered by it. If he really needed to save Shade as a scum team, then he would vote me for Sith to tie it up. I'm still not convinced they're partners.

Same, and that was actually something I'd considered in the "Shade and OP47 are Sith" avenue. But I didn't cling to it because Irish already allegedly showed us that the rules can be skirted.

It looks like there's only a slim chance of altering the Retaliation champwagon before hammer, and Shade's my strongest read thus far. I can agree with TheIrishMan dueling Shade as the champion, if anything to give us a glimpse into how Intelligence stuff works. I admit I'm curious. But is he strong enough to defeat Shade? Considering repercussions if Irish loses, if Shade is scum then we might have a hard time killing him--which is Cat5's fear for this game. It's reasonable. I've seen @TheIrishman reading the thread during the past hour or so. Any objections to dueling Shade? ##vote champion TheIrishMan

I see what you mean. But I can see what TheIrishMan meant by his post even more. Since you know "next to nothing" about Star Wars, he quoted you to offer the lengthy explanation. However, it looks like his reason for the explanation in the first place isn't due to your aggression but due to the responses of other players afterwards. I don't think it's too substantial.

I guess patience is a virtue. But there's only an hour left, so time is of the essence. I'm for switching my champion vote if there's an agreeable reason to have Irish in the duel. Would it be primarily to have him show his Tier 2 ability?

I've been so vested in arguing with Shade during my trip that I haven't read into other active players save for Nodlied. I saw no reason to suspect Retaliation, yet ChopBam did, and now TheIrishMan is in the same boat I have Retaliation in. So what's the detail behind the read so I have a frame of reference when I go back and study the texts?

Calling a timeout for a moment to recognize @VERTi60 and congratulate him on creating probably one of his best RPG games. There's so much room for players to control their own paths that it's generating more discussion in a mafia game than we've seen in a long while, and that's a feat. Lords of Mafia indeed.

The few flaws with that are one, we'd have to trust your word, and two, Shade could be a recruited apprentice and would have a previous Jedi identity to use as cover. I guess you could judge flaw two for yourself, but there's still the matter of flaw one.

Oh hey, I read your post last night but forgot to respond--sorry to hear about your tooth! Dunno what painkillers you're using, but I've found ibuprofen is more effective than tylenol. Do you have anything set up for tomorrow yet? (Don't forget, after the duel phase there's a night phase so don't vanish too quickly!)

On the other hand, if he is Sith and he has a partner, then if it isn't Orange, I doubt his partner would be cozying up to him. No offense Shade.
