    From your point of view Nodlied there's no solid evidence that I'm Near or a Shinigami, so you suspect the latter given the circumstances. Understandable since you don't know a thing about who Near is. At this stage of the story (where L has first introduced himself to Light), Near and another by the name of Mello were children at an orphanage called Wammy's House. L came from the same orphanage, and both Near and Mello are meant to be L's successors should anything happen to him. By the time Near enters the story, it has been five years since L died. So, when L was alive, Near was 13. When he enters the story, he is 17. Perhaps that will offer you some explanation for why a super cop ability didn't affect me: at the moment, I am a child in an orphanage with no use to the game whatsoever.

    That's right. But the flavor texts are progressing the story. L has introduced himself to Light. A few episodes later, L dies by the Shinigami Rem's hands to save Misa Amane. However, as we don't know if those two roles exist in this game, are flavors, or will even be used at all, we can't tell when or how L will meet his end. The very fact that my role exists proves that L can die in this game, however.

    Good thing Near isn't my true name. But it's easily findable. In any case, investigating me first seems to have allowed Kira to discover who I am anyway thanks to the constant questioning.

    Both. If it it is easy to find, then it must be difficult to get rid of. The rules say that our goal is to find Kira and confiscate the Death Note. I don't think that's all there is to it. My role is set to activate if a specific person is eliminated from the game. In other words, there would be no reason for my role to exist if it were easy for us to win. You know how Verti and balance works in flavor games. He's got a few tricks he hasn't told us about, I wager.

    That's what the rules say, yeah. Though that doesn't necessarily mean we destroy it. But if there's only one Kira, I don't expect it to be so easy.

    Correct, and if they have a notebook it's confiscated. The problem is that he continues to put S points on me. It'll be harder for us to investigate if ties are forced.

    I think it's more difficult than that. With the nature of my role, I have to assume that finding Kira will be tougher than simple investigations. Otherwise, there would be no need for me to "activate" if a certain condition is met.

    Don't think anyone cared. I'm guessing you have a night action that helped you determine his allegiance? I'll say it again: I am no threat and I never will be, except for one person. Night actions don't have any effect on me because at the moment I "don't exist". I'm not a part of the 'plot' yet, so to speak.

    Nah, wasn't me. I currently don't have the power to visit anyone. Like I said, I'm a dormant role until a particular part of the story happens (and it's an 'if').

    I didn't try to debunk anything, that was from others. I was the first to explain what Shinigami were and tried to prepare everyone else for the possibility that they're in the game. Yellow text hurts. But one of your night actions allows you to do something to "anyone" "if possible"? And then you follow up with asking if someone visited you? ##propose suspicion 20 Nodlied

    Wrong both times. I'm important, yes, but my character is more of an endgame mechanic. I'm sort of dormant right now. Just an observer, until the story progresses to a certain point. Yes, his avatar is Ryuk.
