    Not CK, but IF you are a Shinigami (which I myself would not commit to saying), I'd bank on you just trying to get the death note back. There are ways to do that, but they take time, and you can afford to sit back and wait. That seems consistent with your playing so far, and its why I personally don't think you're much of a threat. Shinigami gonna shinigami, after all, not much anyone else can do about it. We have bigger fish to fry, and its best to look elsewhere. It is but one possibility, however. If you are Near, I'll point again to what I said earlier about a Backup Role that until activated is a vanilla townie with perm investigation protection. This can all be derailed, possibly, by game design considerations I have not thought of.

    A good goal indeed, though to be fair, he doesn't have that strong a ties with anyone in particular. I think ChopBam is being honest. Maybe not playing the smartest, but honest nonetheless. KY I think is honest too, though I'm not sure, it's hard to get a read on him. For fairness, I'm not against your or Nodlied either, but you guys do seem rather "overzealous" to put it charitably. I'd be really interested to hear from the people who have been less involved, such as FRAYDO and Cat 5.

    I'm not fully agreeing or disagreeing with any side, but I still stand by my earlier statements that investigating Jeod again, whatever crimes he has or has not committed, is a waste of resources. I really think if we vote him against we're just blowing our Day 2 investigation. Hell, assuming for a second he's scummy, the more you focus on him the more we're drawn away from the other threats while he giggles gleefully behind his protection. Even before his most recent statements I warned this likely isn't a one-shot protection he had, and I don't see the wisdom in banging our heads against the same wall repeatedly.

    I know there's more coming, but to this, I think we need to separate the mechanics "day" from the plot "day". Plot "day" moves however fast Verti decides, and is likely variable. Granted, I don't remember how long in-plot it was from the Day 2 Scene since the Day 1 scene, but I think it was longer than 1 day.

    I see it a bit differently, in that I can meet physically with someone and never tell them my name. To know their identity meta knowledge would have to be used, which, while fine for our reasoning here and such (kinda, and the meta is changed either way), I highly doubt the meeting will just be phrased as "Character X walks up to you" as opposed to "a strange person walks up to you". Hell, it's probably no such introduction at all, merely "Here's your doc, you're labeled as your forum names". "Realistically" there'd be some details, such as man or woman, but it's not like that's enough to know a name and even if you meta-guessed the rules say you actually have to something to base it on, not just a guess, I'm pretty sure. Technically speaking, we're all meeting right now, but don't know each others names.

    Well, meeting with someone doesn't *inherently* tell them your role. And that said, I would not be surprised if Kira doesn't have a way of getting roles without much effort as it is, so I wouldn't feel 100% safe just sitting around either.

    I don't think the names get told automatically. However, if the people do trust enough to share in there, and it becomes a multi-person doc, all it takes is one bad apple basically.

    Eh, 'days' are clearly abstracted here. Also the 'Backup' roll mechanically, is a pretty common thing. Mechanically he might just be a vanila townie with investigation blocking until backup kicks in. If what he says is true...

    I think with the emphasis given in the thread posts, it was up to us to check to see if we could visit people and take the initiative.

    It's not graphic at all, if that's the problem. It doesn't even show the actual death, just an implication.

    Though if Kira has shinigami eyes, he can see all our names, yes? So technically none of us are safe by hiding....

    If so... and it's a possibility... wouldn't Voe's name still need to be revealed to someone... that'd be awfully fast if we didn't get it D1... Though maybe his actions are just a way to get his blood pressure up before that heart attack...

    (For crying out loud, every time I try and post now there's Cat 5's post and I have to delete it...) I suppose in other, perhaps more simple terms, when everyone else says 'this is in line with the usual meta' or something like that, I'm basically pointing out that I've not been here to experience that before. I'm giving some people the benefit of the doubt pretty hard (everyone really), but without the context of people's usual play styles everything is quite interesting. That provides the context for my musings. For a tl;dr of the rest, I think you're suspicious Voe, but you're too suspicious. Your actions naturally are painting a target on you, regardless of people are aiming for it or not. If you were the 'big bad' you wouldn't do that, but you might be trying to distract from someone else.

    Oh, the formatting *didn't* get messed up... whatever... Anywho, for some more substantial thoughts now. While I'll agree Jeod has gotten a lot more suspicious in the past few hours, I also will stand firm that I think investigating him again is just going to waste our day vote. In reply to CK's post which I saw while typing this, I'd say Jeod's point there was more that Voe is flailing around, which moves me to my next point. That said... Voe... I don't know him well I admit, but his play certainly is... "something". However, it's just too over the top. Suspicious, yes, but in a way that's almost like trying to draw our attention away from something else. If we're focused on him, we're less focused on other, possible more important matters. If this is intentional, I think Voe would be of the people we need on our list, but he's not the "prize" so to speak. If we have no better targets I guess we could go for an investigation, but I think it'd be more productive to investigate someone who's scummy yet a bit more subtle.

    You can highlight text, then do "quote this" actually. Discovered that by mistake a few days ago. Also can I claim the color Orange, it is my name after all? (I actually don't care, but couldn't resist) I mentioned it This is Cat 5's post, formatting got messed up cause quoting across pages... I actually thought Jeod was relatively *unconcerned* at first, and now he just finds it a nuisance.

    KY unvoted too. Also was Cat 5's proposal points actually supposed to be that high to begin with today? (Side question for KY, is your avatar supposed to be Ryuk? I noticed awhile ago but forgot to ask, and of course it has no bearing on the game I'm just curious)

    Hmmm, given the other thing, might want to confirm that's what the readout actually should say I guess, but if that's correct, that is indeed interesting. I guess I'm fine with ChopBam having the trust, so he can establish contact if this indeed something important. If it's some trick I don't think it's a trick that would get him very far so while we're all good to still be wary I don't think it's going to be make or break by giving him the trust. He's putting a target on himself in exchange for like 20 trust, which even with the ability to open docs that doesn't seem like the risk v reward would be tipped that way. I'd be more interested to know if there was some specific reason Mojo gave Voe 10 trust, other than a reward for a lucky guess perhaps (and we still don't know exactly what's going on with Jeod anyway).

    Though actually, let me just ask a question to get this straight: Do YOU know who you need to meet with, or do you not? Was it just "There is a person out there that needs to meet you, but you don't know who it is?"
