Just wanted to check in, it's been a hot minute.
Nozzy replied to Nozzy's topic in W3D Hub Discussion
I'll check out the discord, thanks. -
It's me! Nozzy! I'm sure someone here will remember me from the "Renalert" days. So how are things going over here? I am amazed this community still exists. If you guys have any specific play times I'd maybe join in sometimes. No idea what the state of the community is in so I just wanted to pop in and inquire.

So when I try to play online I get a message about not having the right version of TT installed. I have the latest 4.6 so what's goin on here? I can still join games via renlist but I really wanted the W3D launcher to work. Also hello if anyone here remembers me.

Looking really good, man! Keep up the good work. I like the turret animations a lot. -

Question What happen to Reborn
Nozzy replied to Cyclical_Yuri_Is_Master's topic in W3D Hub Discussion
It's such an old engine now, you don't think they might go for it even as a free-to-play game? Has anyone actually tried? -

I agree with you completely, people don't join if they see it's empty. I will join later this evening (EST) so hopefully I'll see others there. Also, have you guys thought about doing some kind of marketing for this game? Have you pitched it to steam yet? Perhaps sending the guys at Kotaku.com and email and have them feature it on their page? We should try to get the word out and get new players in. -
Question What happen to Reborn
Nozzy replied to Cyclical_Yuri_Is_Master's topic in W3D Hub Discussion
I've been checking in a couple times a day for about 2 weeks and only ever seen 1 other person playing, I still have yet to ever play a game of Reborn. -
Yep. always2.zip
-
Here is mine. I changed the extension and uploaded it as a .txt file because it wouldn't allow .dat files.
-
I was also wondering if Veinholes were ever to be introduced in future versions?
-
You are correct about the screenshots! So.. what are they?
-
The fullness indicator is exactly what we need in TSR, I was wondering if that was even possible to do.

For whatever reason I cannot get Print Screen to work and can't figure out how to take a screenshot otherwise, so I'll try to just explain it best I can. On certain maps I think I'm missing some models or textures, I believe they are meant to be decorative, perhaps barrels? They appear as a white outline of half a cube, a placeholder. Is that just me or are some maps missing some things? If I knew how to get a screenshot I'd provide the evidence. >_>

Since I'm sort of newish around Reborn I'm going to ask a n00b question, or what is probably a n00b question: Is there any plans for the Harvester to get a harvesting animation? Something feels weird about using the harvester, although the text that appears telling you that you are harvesting certainly helps, it seems like it would be more intuitive to have an animation define when you are and are not harvesting. I had a bit of trouble trying it out for the first time, wasn't sure if you had to move around the tib field of if I was just supposed to stay stationary.

My story is kind of weird. Around the time I first got into online gaming I was in highschool and had a math teacher I really liked called Mr. Vanostrand. Anyway, I was signing up with WOL to play Renegade and needed a nickname.... first thing that popped into my head was my math teachers name and since my imagination was poor at the time I decided to call myself Vanstrand. This evolved into Nozstrand (No idea why), which later turned into Nozzy because it was easier to type. The nick stuck and has stayed with me for the majority of my life. That is how a Nozzy is born, thanks random Algebra teacher I won't ever see again.

Wubba lubba dub dub, Rick pumpkin, biiiiitch! Happy October!

Well, that's a small amount compared to what it was when I played last. I've seen around 50 people on at most since I started playing again. That's a decent number, too.

Aww, I'm late for the party... How often do you guys do game nights because I will definitely be at the next one.

Yeah, I have been around since the beginning, I just don't check in very often anymore... I recently installed C&C: The First Decade to get some nostalgia in and in the process discovered a small group of people still playing Renegade online so I got hooked on that the past few days, helped test some APB co-op maps for a bit then decided to give Reborn a go while I'm at it. Was super disappointed to find no one playing.... or at least it says the server is down. I'd really love to play some Reborn as I never have. I've played by myself just to look around the maps and check out the units but never got to play against anyone. Figured I'd stick around the W3D world a bit, though, Does anyone actually play Reborn anymore? Are there any Renegade servers that aren't on Renlist, because that's what I'm using atm. It's been so long since I've been around this community surrounding the W3D engine that I'm a bit lost. I'd like to stick around, though, if people are still playing and things are still being worked on/updated.

Yeah, it's me. How are things over here?

Wow, so Reborn still exists. I only know a few people here, I was originally from the A Path Beyond (Renalert) forums. Anyway, hello!
