  1. I just got out of the funniest game ever on fields right now. I don't know what's gotten into me but I couldn't stop laughing for I swear probably close to 10 damn minutes. All because a player randomly had the need to tell all of us in game that "he wished he woke up next to a girlfriend in the morning" All of us in game of course laughed our asses off but I actually couldn't stop laughing, I was also having a couple of beers but still that shit caught me way off guard. Bravo gdi player, you almost made me piss myself.
  2. Oh cool! I thought I was the only one that mixed and matched OST to other games sometimes. Like when an OST is good, its good so it very well may fit the vibe of another game too.
  3. This thing is massive, for those that aren't sure what we're talking about. Massive & Beastly! I would not want to be underneath one of these, that's for sure.
  4. I didn't really know which section it should be posted to, honestly. That's the map, yeah! You know your stuff dude! Oh man I wish I knew use use the free aim button during that game, sure would have helped. Great tip on getting to max height, will keep that in mind next time I cycle to that map again. Thanks man! I wish I could give you an up-vote but I used mine up in the C&C meme thread today already. Will be back to rep you with my tech later doe!
  5. LMFAO Nu Pogodi Renegade-da Cheeki Breeki Cyka Blyat *I Need Repairs* *I Need Repairs* *I Need Repairs* *Negative*
  6. You guys have a lot of cool C&C stuff. I only have the anniversary box collection from like over 10 years ago lol I wish I had a shirt doe, just now realized there is even a C&C book? That's cool, never knew that either.
  7. That so out there. What a left field find. Wonder why they would have that.
  8. Was playing Renegade in the Chinese map with all the lime green weed leaves scattered all over the ground with those Asian looking buildings & Castle bases. You know which map I'm talking about. Well this player named Ooflyoo told me to follow him through these 2 tunnels which we had to lower down to on a rope I would have never seen without him. So we lower down and proceed through the tunnel that takes us to this mountain base with 2 Zeppelins that apparently spawn they there when they blow up again. The Zeppelin has a very hard to maneuver auto rifle attachment & the ability to drop bombs on enemies below. I thought it was super cool & was a lot of fun to drop these Grenade turds on everyone below us. If you read this, thanks for helping me find that. Found a secret today. I never knew where people got those Zeppelins on that map. Made the map way more fun to play.
  9. I was just in a game with LiMaDo, we were in a group of techs repping the Weapons Factory when he jumped on me then started javing a seizure on top of my head then jumped up on the master control terminal where we half repped him & War Factory until he died then we lost the game. LmFaO
  10. Definitely agree, the first 2 albums get so much air time from me. Plastic Beach and B-sides get some love from me too though. Lets be honest, you cannot listen to one album without listen to another back to back though. I just can't, its so damn good. It's funny when my best friend gave me their first 2 CD's back in the day, I actually shockingly didn't like it on my first listen being so used to Rock & Hip-Hop so when Gorillaz wrapped it up in the way that they did it went over my tiny head. They grew on me in the best way and are still one of my favorite artists but I don't like much of their recent work. I actually sort of repulsed by their recent work to be honest.
  11. Yeah I was thoroughly bummed when I started to listen to the Renegade in game music and realized how I've been missing out on it for most of the decade. It just fits the gameplay so perfectly, I like the game sound & FX to be turned down slightly lower than the game sound so I can feel that bass in my chest on some of the music. Can't believe I was missing out on the Renegade OST all this time. Having said that I also used to love playing Gorillaz first self titled album and Demon Days during matches. Going to have a ren session now to this actually.
  12. I don't know anything about this game but i gave that link a spin & I enjoyed it a ton but then again I really like ambient so it fit my bill nicely!
  13. Interesting answers from everyone. Gotta say I'm surprised to learn the majority don't listen to their own music but favor the game sound above else. I used to listen to tons of bass heavy electronic music, metal & rock during matches with occasional 90s Boom Bap. But lately I've been favoring no music at all or ingame sound track, not really for a special reason like connecting to teamspeak or something similar but just for my own sakes I've been enjoying it far more that way lately. I don't have any surround sound but I have a sub so that does help me immerse myself some since I like to drive my speakers loud when I'm playing. Especially if I'm having myself a beer or a bit of whiskey.
  14. Do you listen to the ingame music or something else during Renegade matches? Maybe you don't listen to anything at all? What keeps you hyped up in game?
  15. That would be very cool & would bring more players over too I think. Look at how much meatier this Humvee would have looked. Man everyone looks so different, its so weird to look at initialy. Like how narrow the hallways are in the Hand of Nod. That GUI & scope look way different too as well as the level design. Though this footage does very much look early access given the fact the tutorial guide was playing Havoc in the demo vid.
  16. Found a vid that's coincidentally right the alley of our conversation right now. You were 100% right about them rushing Ren out for profit. This vid even states earlier RTS titles were met with the same EA fate everyone came to expect from them in their pattern of similar behavior that followed suit well into their career obviously showcasing their greed. In my own humble opinion, if Westwood was allowed to take their time on their projects like they always tried to do they would have truly turned EA some profits. I mean aren't the group of guys solely responsible for the RTS genre & it's roots? If they are able to do that then surely they are able to innovate within their own turf. It's like EA just filled in the name & date on the test then turned it in knowing they would default to a quarter of the credits just for showing up for the test instead of finishing it to receive full credits like it's intended to really pass that class. There's no money in lingering behind the first 5 frets, yet that's where EA like's to make their living. I'm not alone in that either as so many people have regretted buying various EA games for literally the same exact reasons we are discussing right now. Especially when you have some emotional/nostalgic attachment to a certain title or franchise then it's most definitely fun to learn the entire backstories on things that were missing to you growing up because I've always been one to just get in the server to have fun so I never really did any digging on things like this. Hell, I never even watched most game reveals on E3 or followed what companies were doing closely so I knew no plans of developments. Even if I did, I was still growing up then so I doubt I would have been able to wrap my mind around anything to do with economics so it's infinitely interesting to me now that I do. Yes, that's a very fair point. I do completely understand people need to eat still but it's people not realizing or putting their foot down to it so they feel they can get away with it so they continue to like it's just business which isn't personal to them when their decisions ultimately decide on peoples fate which is very personal to them. An example being, when say; any random company gets new management so they decide funds can be used elsewhere then they close down a warehouse where hundreds of employees worked at so while it's not personal to them but hundreds of people had to go home without knowing what to do next. I know that any executives growing a conscious is nothing but a pipe dream though. Oh Petroglyph, aren't they remaking a sort of a Renegade meets Borderlands with their comic book art style game? Slips my mind on what the name of it is but I saw a vid of it last night. Gotta say I personally was digging what I saw & would definitely give it a try when it's out. I completely agree on all your points too btw, even before I saw vids of the Westwood crew admitting "how much fun they truly had & marveled at how they couldn't believe they got paid to work on the project" is something I could tell from just playing the game & watching the cut-scenes LOL Definitely looks like they made a blast making their games, that's for sure. 2005 sounds about right because my attention went to other games around that time but I have never completely quit Renegade since I ALWAYS came back to it if I was gaming in that point of my life. Renegade thankfully never dies. Amazing game even if it has it's flaws. Wow that's incredible man! Definitely shows it's Westwood that cares most & I can definitely now see why everyone is so fond of Westwood after learning more of the backstory behind everything. Westwood is out there reconnecting official servers to games approaching their second decade but Nintendo Wii prematurely pulled it's servers on us Mario Kart fans LOL I can see why everyone geeks so hard about Westwood. Westwood is really the mother Teresa of gaming LOL That's a great way to put it brother. Thanks for stating it that way too. You probably are right on it not being profitable to begin with though. I think you're right about them making more than RTS games which exactly where a Renegade or similar series could have filled it's shoes. Take something they are already good at like RTS and add FPS/3PS elements then milk that for all its worth imo. There's an entire gaping hole of a market with that single idea right there. Doesn't have to exclusively be like Renegade either. The idea itself oozes endless potential. How many games have given us a RTS/FPS/3PS elements into one game? Not very many but I'm all ears if you do know of such games. Do share that vid you saw in your discord serve though, sounds intriguing. Been looking up lots of old Renegade vids & other C&C content lately. Thanks for chatting me about all of this!
  17. Found this super fun video on Renegade so I thought I'd share it with all of you.
  18. You have a great collection but what is Renegade Alert? A demo? Man I need to get me some Nod Shrimp shirts too though!
  19. What a cool & nostalgic video. Thank you for sharing. It's so funny that they planned for that Tutorial guide to be the main character instead of Havoc. Man, am I glad they didn't. Can't imagine the game without Havoc! I got a present for ya, HA!
  20. Thank you guys for letting me know all of this info by the way, it's very interesting to learn. I really appreciate you all informing me on why things turned out the way they did. I probably otherwise would never have been able to figure it out.
  21. The more I read & look into it the more I realize all of the slept on possibilities that C&C games could have if EA was just a bit different. Honestly just super sad because there was apparently a ton more in store than I could have ever imagined there to be in the first place. *sigh*
  22. I also subconsciously felt something like this at the time of the release of Halo so it's crazy for me to read as a fact. What you're basically saying is there would probably not have been much of a chance either way, huh? Thank you for breaking this down and explaining it to me in great detail. I had no idea about most of it. What a bumpy long ride that must have been for Westwood. Apparently they were through a lot more than I thought. I just assumed EA was being the profiteering devil as it usually was. Although it's still a shame because I'm still very much a fan of Renegade but I do feel somewhat better knowing there wasn't all that much that could have been done either way no matter how hard they tried. I only wish Westwood was always able to stand on their own. Such a unique company with unique visions. It's basically unheard of to play an RTS game as an FPS/3PS but they made that a possibility. EA are still jerks though.
  23. Ah I see, I understand. Battlefield 1942 is what started the entire franchise isn't it? They did become extremely successful & for good reason I'll give them that. Just looked up that map & thought that was really cool, wish they would remake that map in another game. Island maps are my favorite. I wish Renegade had more than that one Island map lol Still sucks for me having been a Renegade fan originally to find out rumors were true & there was truly a Renegade 2 in the works. What a game it would have been indeed. I didn't get into the Battlefield series until BF Bad Company 2 then BF3.
  24. https://www.moddb.com/games/cc-renegade/addons/chris-hansen-locke-replacement So funny, I cannot stop laughing! =D I was looking for some new recticle mods for Renegade & stumbled upon this mod by accident. Whoever made this mod is s genius.
