The end result isn't due to slipping, per se. When there are only three possibilities left, and everyone knows who the final hostile is, there's no reason to drag the game on. You end up with the opposite effect of players quitting the game due to it being "effectively over" save for that one last puzzle piece that doesn't really matter because they know who the last enemy is.

Blame 1DT or whatever else it is. I have a very different method of thinking compared to normal people.

It actually started out with FRAYDO asking me for time of death in PM. I gave him bad math, so clarified it in PM, and also clarified it in thread since he was openly discussing what I'd told him.
-
I still don't see how that would have changed anything really. It fit with the timing of things. But hey, if there's some way that not sharing such information would have changed the outcome, let me know.

Indeed, I know Sunflower and I were both glued to the interactions between players on whether you were scum. My notes before feedback: 1) The notebook item, while a fun idea by Category 5, turned out to be a rather useless item. If something similar is requested in the future, I'll ask the requester to add some more umph to it. 2) TheIrishMan's role had been requested since CYOR II, so I felt it was time to keep a promise and include it with minimal alterations. It made the role pretty overpowered--the only way to kill him was by relying on scum or relying on a dayblock, which there was only one in the game. 3) Revisit the information given in PMs. I've attached my PM documents where I did the resolving. I feel that I may have given too much information in some cases which caused players to be able to narrow down the scum-pool faster. Please comment on this. Your personal consideration was at the mercy of other players unfortunately.

GAME END Sorry TheIrishMan, but it looks like town isn’t keen on giving you a win. The game is now over and town has won! However, this town won’t be able to forget your deeds. For going after mafia the entire game and shooting one, as well as having an influence on a town player’s decision to shoot the other, a statue has been erected in the square in your honor! Also, Shade939 has managed to secure 12 coins (a decent profit) just in the nick of time! Cyrano Jones, the neutral party, also wins! While other players did suspect Nodlied, iLiketoSnipe actually played a decent con-game as scum. Consider that if TheIrishMan’s role had been more easily killable, there is a good chance that iLiketoSnipe might have gone on to deceive town to the end. I did take a note that three guns is too many in a game with less than 11 players, so I’ll jot it down for next time—in addition to TheIrishMan’s OP-ness. TheIrishMan has earned a MVP Medal! *Note: I haven’t figured out what I want to do with the medals yet, but I will be tracking them. Sunflower has my appreciation and thanks for managing the CvC and daytime posts when I’ve been away. With your creative writing I can see quite a few entertaining games from you! You all prepare to string up TheIrishMan, sure he'll die this time. But first, he announces that the time limit on two of his curses is up. FRAYDO, the town-aligned Space Dandy, has fallen! Killing_You, the town-aligned Piccolo, has fallen! You still have the numbers advantage, however, and with mafia safely out of play, you pull the lever and watch TheIrishMan squirm at the noose! TheIrishMan, third-party Samara Morgan, has fallen! The two videotapes crumble to dust as their creator's reign comes to an end. All remaining players receive 1 Coin for their participation on Day 4.
-
It appears a decision has been made relatively quickly. Alright, it's hammertime.
-
You'll still die no matter which option you choose. Your deaths occur before TheIrishMan's in my timeline.
-
I'm the GM I can influence however I want. It's Mass Effect 3 all over again. Either: Town wins with TheIrishMan Town wins with Shade939 Town wins with Shade939 & TheIrishMan There's no way Irish can kill everyone off at this point, so these are the three possibilities.
-
You can allow Irish to win as well as deny Shade a win by lynching him today instead.
-
You only had one, just like the Medkit.
-
That is one of your options though, to allow TheIrishMan to live for one more night in order to fulfill his objective and then vanish the next day.

Announcement! TheIrishMan's immortality passive has been blocked by the wedding cake. The reason for this is simple: his night action of creating a videotape is unblockable, so he cannot be blocked by Tribbles. However, he could have been nightkilled by scum. Now that scum are dead, players have a decision to make. TheIrishMan will kill 2/3 for his objective at hammertime today. He has also fulfilled most of his alternative objective of getting all living players to have watched his tapes at least once. The missing player for that objective is Category 5. I will allow TheIrishMan to commit seppuku to allow town to win, however it is town's decision whether to allow TheIrishMan to win by passing a tape to Category 5 tonight. Please discuss the option amongst yourselves. The game will end at hammertime (3 hours).

OrangeP47 throws a wedding cake at TheIrishMan! What a mess! It'll take him the rest of the day to clean him(her?)self up, so they won't be able to vote or use any day actions. Killing_You prepares a second makankosappo and launches it directly at Nodlied! It doesn't miss, and it's huge. Nodlied can't withstand such power! He fades from existence without another word. King Boo, the mafia, is dead! One hostile remains!
-
Game on!
-
Yeah I'll just do that. Makes life easier for all of us anyway. CYOR IV is on hold until 11/22 11:00PM EST. The thread will be locked until then to allow peace of mind for the players. Enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday! Hammer for Day 4 will be on 11/23 at the usual hammertime.

And show pity for Shade? Nah.

I keep forgetting it's only Wednesday.
