Welcome to this week's blog. Sorry I'm a little late, but it's here Without further delay, lets hit into it.
Allied Barracks Interior
dtrngd has been hard at work on the interiors for this structure. He has modelled out the kitchen/canteen area as a selfserve kind of thing, since the Allies like to live in the life of luxury, even if it is only a restaurant-style cafeteria. There will be a door added on that will theoretically lead to a bigger kitchen where the GI's can place their ration orders for the week. Unfortunately, this area is off limits to combatants since the chefs are quite obsessive about how clean their kitchen is. This is apparent by their recent notice to mount a box on the wall that soldiers can place their ration forms into. It's like they lock themselves in there on purpose or something. But for those soldiers who don't trust the chefs, there is always the fridge, worktops and cooker to prepare a sneaky sandwich or so. I tell you, the Allies live the life when it comes to eating. Afterwards the soldiers can hit the locker room to grab their gear ready for patrol. It is still a mystery to this day as to how on earth the GI's get so many sandbags in their lockers. It's one of their trade secrets. For special orders, the soldiers must report to the CO's office for briefing. It's a lot more comfortable in there than the soldier's living area. The CO even has a red phone that links him to the Allied high command. Now that's an honour. They don't give out those red phones as readily as they used to. President Michael Dugan is behind this cutback, due to the supposed "hijacking" at the NYC silos on the day that the soviets invaded. Jerry Boyd couldn't open the silos and it was suicide. The silo doors were closed and the missiles exploded under cover. This rendered the Allies defenceless. Allied CO's have to be especially careful when using the phone, but usually, it is safe. Here are some renders of what I'm on about. As a final note, dtrngd and I were talking about the possibility of having random meal names put up on a blackboard in the cafeteria. These would include such dishes as Carville's Suprise with Dugan Dip and other wonders. We could also make the names appear randomly, so you get a new set of dishes on the board each time you play. It's just little ideas like this that, I believe, will make AR a fun game to experience.
Remote Revenge
Got C4? Then you'll be needing this. Yes! The detonator! Flick the switch and push the button to begin the countdown to impending doom for anybody in close proximity of said device. Using a welding torch vs armed C4 is unadvised, so technicians have been equipped with bomb defusal aparatus a.k.a pliers. Anyway, here it is. The big button textured by TheBeerinator and modelled by Poggel
Website News
Various updates and changes are being made to the website almost daily. here are a list of changes and features to come. Changes: Site template has been made longer. Acknowledgements page has been added. More staff have been added and staff have been ordered on the page. New news post topbar has been added. Things to look forward to: Full unit, structure and weapon lists with images, descriptions and tips for newbies (essentiall tl;dr sections). Downloads database with videos and extra content. Proper about projects page. Updated FAQ. Proper URL
Team Notices
I have joined the university's recent formed mod club and have been given the position of Lead Art Director on a new UT3 mod that focuses on the main concept of Steampunks vs Sci Fi. Don't worry though, as you guys are always my priority over any other mod work. This should hopefully be another reason to get UT3 other than for RenegadeX ^^ cfehunter is on coursework dtrngd has been working flat out and laughing his ass off becase of JOKRBRBGBTELLMEWHRTHEYRSGRBA. Chevy787 has lots of school work to do TheBeerinator has been engaging in some e-drama once again. SrsBsns
OWA's Random Section
For the benefit of those of you who didn;t get what I was on about when writing about dtrngd in "Team Notices", here you go.
<param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344">

Tada!
Two year blog in two weeks!

Bah, I could've sworn that Tanya was limited after patching RA2. Ah well, I guess you can't always be right. Other than the Yuri unit being in RA2 as a reason for including him, the other reason is basically for a proof of concept. If we can do a Yuri unit on this engine, then we'll see what happens with the rest of his faction.
-
We may not use symbols. It is undecided as of yet. It should begin to beep when you trigger the countdown or something similar.
-
Play RA2 on the latest patch (1.06).
-
You can't really talk about how fun AR is or how balanced it will be until you actually play it. If the Allied Apocalypse Tank doesn't have backup with it then that's tough. Usually the player would have destroyed the flak track before it even got within range of Yuri being effective. If you think mind control is going to be an instant pointlolclickcontrol thing, you are mistaken. If you have two tanks, or even two infantry vs one Yuri, Yuri is going to be at a disadvantage. A misplaced canonical error? You don't think that Boris was somewhere in RA2 and that he just magically appeared in YR? We have stated many times that AR takes place at the tail end of RA2, when the Soviets get their new technology such as battle bunkers and siege choppers, but they still have Yuri around. Yuri also wasn't a hero unit in RA2. Why? You could build more than one of him. You could only ever build one Tanya in RA2. Yuri Prime was the other Hero unit in RA2, but he required so much hassle to get (playing as soviets, build an allied spy and send him into a soviet battle lab) that it wasn't even worth it in the end.
-
Clay rendering at it's best.
-
Even though there can be only one Tanya on the field at once?
-
-It will land for you to get in. -Yeah, however it was in RA2. -We'd thought about the NPC thing, but the toggle switch could be a nice touch. ~Time will tell.
-
The drill will not repair vehicles. This is undebatable. The two WW referances were the Ion Cannon night light and the Sandworm, found in Emperor: Battle For Dune.
-
Yes, however the knife will probably kill the enemy before that effect has a chance to kick in. Yes, like every other infantry. The conscript wears a full-face helmet but the Flak Trooper may have a beard. It all depends on who's face I scan into the game. The eyepatch may make an appearance.
-
When killboy06 said "Scene 5" he was referring to the ion cannon. The soviets get a gas powered welder, much to the joy of theta123.

Welcome to this week's blog. I've been scrambling around for content this week since last week's media fart. But have no fear, as this blog is not empty!
Allied Impact Drill
Whether this drill will be able to mess soviet units up is set to go under discussion soon, but one thing is for sure, the drill is definitely going to be repairing allied structures across the AR world once it has been implemented. TheBeerinator has completed the texture on this vital piece of kit, modelled by rm5248, and it's looking really rather nice. Check it out below. We are also trying to think of a secondary purpose for this weapon, other than repairing things. Our main idea was that it could do a little bit of close range damage, but we'd like your input on this.
C4 Explosives
The C4 explosive is truly a weapon to be feared, as a single charge can a considerabe amount of damage (applied to the major weakpoint of course). These fearsome explosives are given to only the most elite conventional allied soldiers, the Navy SEAL and Special Agent Tanya. We need to balance the C4 into the game before we can confirm how much damage it will do. We may make it destroy a building on one hit, or we may make it damage it to a near-death state. This will also affect the quantities of C4 being carried by each unit. The SEAL will carry less C4 than Tanya though, that's for sure. TheBeerinator has textured Poggel's model below. It has turned out nicely too
Crate
Beware the random crate of randomness. Travelling over this crate will benefit you in some cases, but hinder you in others. You could be promoted up a level, healed, be given credits or you could be blown up into pieces. I don't recall the bomb crate being in RA2, but it'd be good to introduce into AR because it adds that nice gambling element of whether you should get the crate or not. This factor is one that makes the crate such a nice little addition to the game as a whole. Along with random placement, expect the crate to pop up in many places around the map. Here is the model, done by me.
Team Messages
I'm getting a new computer in a couple of weeks time. This is going to be a bit of a monster when it comes to specs, but nothing too space-age. I've also been learning Hammer so that I can make HL2 maps for my Games Design project! I've also been drafted into the role of choreographer for our motion capture group, since I was too tall to be the performer cfehunter is back home after a stint away for a while. He is glad to be home. rm5248 is up to his neck in work at the moment as is BogdanV and Chevy who are both back at school. Chronojam has been walking the dog a lot as well as sorting out a website APB logo to put on the AR site affiliates page!
OWA's Random Section
This week's challenge is simple. Spot the Westwood reference. Bonus points for finding a second Westwood-related referance.
End
Next week, there will be more. But you already knew that so you can stop reading. Thanks.

I still don't get it.
-
What? It's pretty easy to do, but we don't want to share our easter eggs Find them yourself when the game is released Look at the older blogs, since it is mentioned there. But for your benefit they will be the missile racks, and the main controls for the aircraft lifts. Missiles in the basement, controls in the top.
-
It's coming on alright.
-
Thanks guys. It's great to know that we have all your support when developing this game!
-
That would be a foolish thing to do We still share forums, but we have our own site.
-
They can currently do this, but it will be fixed before release. So there will be no more sandbag pyramids. When I get round to making one That would be up to the server owner. We may setup a player controlled mig and leave it in the editor for you guys or something like that.

This is it friends! The 100th blog milestone! I honestly can't believe that I have been writing these for so long, since it feels like just yesterday when we were at C&C Source and just starting to write these blogs. Thank you all for your support and nice comments. We at the AR team of Bluehell Productions are overjoyed that our project has lasted for this long! May 100 more blogs follow after this one!
Website
Yes ladies and gentlemen! The website is up and running! It is by no means complete yet, but Tankmaster and I will be updating it over the following weeks so that it will eventually be a powerful source of information on all things concerning Apocalypse Rising. Visit the website here! This week we shall be linking the site to www.apocrising.com for ease of use. Notes to the public: This site does not display correctly in Internet Explorer's 6 and 7 (It displays correctly in . This is due to that fact that Microsoft are incompetant when coding browsers and don't follow certain conventions. Firefox and Opera work fine though, as well as other browsers, including Chrome. There is a lot of information missing from the site. But you'll have to bear with me as I update it. We will eventually be adding a breakdown of each unit, structure and weapon in the game as well as a downloads database for videos and such, so keep watching this space. Special thanks go to drunkill and The_Aces_of_Razgriz who have helped with some of the site graphics. Thanks also to Chronojam who helped me set the site up properly. And finally, big thanks to Tankmaster for creating the site from scratch. Great stuff!
Warehouse
You may have seen the RA2 warehouse that Guy with a wrench released to the public a while back. Well, he has gone and textured it up for us, as well as make garrisonned versions too! We'll look into how this building will be garrisoned and make a up a video for you guys at a later date. For now, enjoy the images! Note: a lot of the textures and props aren't final, but are there as placeholders to give you an idea of what it will look like once completed.
Air Force Command HQ Update
Zion is back from his break and has continued work on the AFCHQ. The internals are nearly complete and looking great. We have been forced to use an elevator in this structure but that will not be the only way to the top of the structure, since there will be ladders to clamber up. This will ensure that there are always multiple routes to the weakpoints of the structure. Without further a do. Here is the updated model!
Barracks Update
dtrngd has been working on improving the allied barracks for you guys to eventually run around in. This includes beginning to model the kitchen as well as add various other props like wall posters and such. I'll let the pictures do the talking.
Team Messages
I'm really enjoying university so far. I have been set most of my assignments already, so things are really going to kick off next week. I'll be modelling a living room, making a HL2 singleplayer map using Hammer, making a motion capture video and doing something related to design documents. All good! cfehunter is selling me some computer parts. Expect to see a new monster PC appear next month. danpaul88 chalked up a new personal best score of 8718 in Tetris Ultra mode! Zion makes a shoutout to Andy and Nicole from my college, because he said he would, as well as everyone and anyone else who studys games development at Liverpool Community College. =^_^= TheBeerinator got kidnapped by TruYuri and is being held hostage in an embarrassing position. BogdanV is going to have less time again due to education. Lord_Kane is back! His computer is now working again and he is a happy chap.
OWA's Random Corner
Check out these great videos from Kajetokun, Terry Yum Goong and Zeta Punch. I laughed so much when I saw these.
<param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"> <param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344">

Thanks For Reading
This has been the 100th Apocalypse Rising blog. Join us in a month for the two year blog anniversary! Until next week my friends, farewell.

Yup pretty much and terror drones will be awesome. That wouldn't be true to RA2 in the most basic sense. Although it is logical in some aspects, the downside is that the conscript would be better than this "basic GI", as in RA2 conscripts were better than undeployed GI's. Soviet infantry won't be able to get close enough to the pillbox to be able to hide under the field of fire. The pillbox would get them regardless, since it is quite low down in the ground. The cameo looks to have a guy in the pillbox, but we changed it to an autoturret because of engine limitations. Also people would get pissed off at the fact that they couldn't kill the pillbox gunner. The sentry gun will still be a ground only base defence, but if rocketeers land near it then expect them to fire back.
-
Blah, I guess we'll have to test it out a bit then... -Only if friendly fire is turned on. -Yes, unless it's a special condition objective-based map.
-
Rigging that limits trajectory and high velocity missiles.
-
TheBeerinator of course!

Some doors you can walk through. Walking into them would hurt if you did it all the time. The minor weakpoint can be repaired again and again until the building is destroyed. The major weakpoint may be a lot tougher and we are debating removing the ability to repair it, otherwise it will just act the same as an MCT in Renegade or APB. The answer is yes. If you lose the building you lose the abilities that the building provides. In this case, regular refils.

Well, today's the first blog written from within my new home, Staffordshire University! It's really rather awesome here, so I'm really rather happy. My flatmates are also really great. There are two guys, one's called Tom and the other is called Leigh, but we call him a Mac because he has one of those aweful white machines. Anyway, to the pub blog!
Barracks Weakpoint
I threw out a thread about this in the internals forums, since you guys already know that we will be using a weapons cache for the barracks' major weakpoint. The minor weakpoint, however, is rather interesting. dtrngd summed it up really nicely, so I'll quote him straight. Not because it's funny, but because it doesn't make sense. Just imagine. Tanks are shooting the barracks from outside. And you are repairing a fucking frigde to heal the building But the frigde does need electricity! If the fuse-box is the weakpoint itself, the fridge's freezing operations are borked and the food gets spoiled. Thus LIMITING and not TOTALLY disabling refills for infantry as a negative effect. Because you can still have a sandwich or a loaf of bread to eat without the fridge/freezer/stove/microwave oven/etc. Limiting refills: you are only able to refill every 3-5 mins (something like that). Why? Cuz your kitchen is borked, electricity's gone. This also covers the repairing stuff. Repairing the fuse-box to repair the whole building makes more sense than a fridge. And once the barracks is gone, well, everything inside is gone, including your beloved kitchen Remember: the health of the minor weakpoint can't be the same as the building's hp, since that would kill the role of the minor weakpoint. Minor weakpoints are for temporary negative effects. Major weakpoint destruction is permanent (kinda like an MCT, but not quite, since it has a separate hp, as ammo-stocks don't have to do much with the building's hp, but the destruction of this still kills the building.) Hope you like that, and it covers everything.
Broken Bridges and Other Wonders
When inside a building you may encounter doors. BogdanV has modelled and textured some general doors to use on various buildings which is pretty cool. Some of our buildings will have a few locked doors so that the buildings look bigger Also on the menu from BogdanV are these pillars from a broken bridge. Bridges break and they leave pillars, these pillars. The man himself had this to say concerning the cracked pillars.
Impact Drill
TheBeerinator has been texturising the Allied Impact drill, as it is near completion. Detailing is pending as you can see, but I think it is really shaping up. Expect to see these rigged up with the new fps gunhands as soon as they are all ready. Since I now have access to a motion capture studio, I may be able to persuade the staff to let me record some new walk/run/jump/pose/taunt/shoot/eat pie animations for our infantry. This means that the Tesla Trroper will walk with a heavy stride, whilst the allide techy will bob up and down as he jogs from place to place drilling things (yes I see the inuendo in that comment).
Team Messages
I am now settled into university. I'm meeting new people all the time, (as well as a few potential staff members!) I played motion capture charades yesterday which was wierd. Being your own mum is great, since you actually get up on time every day and stuff. It's great! Here are a few pictures of my room: Pic 1Pic 2 Pic 3 Poster based on this image. And one of me looking like a fool. I love my Nod t-shirt. I saw a guy in a GDI t-shirt and yelled "PEACE THROUGH POWER!". I'm such a C&C geek It was cfehunter's birthday on sunday. He's now 19! Congratulations my friend, you've aged well! danpaul88 was telling me about how rubbish the university internet was and I agreed with him fully until I played a lagless game of APB today before writing this blog. It was at 4 am though, so I guess it's off-peak or something.
OWA's Random Section
Mr Hitler thought old England was done, so he celebrated early by singing the Jefferson's Theme to a crowd of avid fans.
<param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344">

Next week...
You'll get a treat!
