Games [Game Over] Star Wars Mafia: Jedi vs Sith
Category 5 Hurricane replied to VERTi60's topic in Forum Games
Though I'll quote myself and say that I have no evidence to suggest this. Shade can't tell me, so I'm just spitballing here and will just have to see what happens. -

No, you misunderstand. I'm suggesting that if you visit a Sith, in exchange for not being able to talk, you gain FP. But if you go too many times not visiting a Sith, you lose FP faster. -

The theory I suggested earlier was that I thought perhaps Voe used his light meditation, and that the FBI meter had both moved up and down, with the end result being no change. He's denied doing that, however. Which is interesting in and of itself, because I can't really see reason to hang on to it. So far, we haven't seen injury outside of battle, so the only way Voe would lose HP/FP in such a way that the light meditation would be useful, is if he survived another duel. Which, if he did, he'd have another use of that meditation. -

I'm going to need to do some measurements of the FBI bar to continue this argument, though, so I'll move on to another topic for now while you guys are still here talking to me. I think the reason why Shade dropped 20 points is because he has failed to mark a Shit, and failing repeatedly will cause FP to fall faster. I think what happened to KY might be that he hit a Shit player. Won't have any way to confirm that for now, that's just what I think at the moment. -

I did suggest that once, but I'm no longer sure of that. Shade's assurance on you contradicts the idea anyway, at least if I assume that what happened to KY is the same thing as happened to Shade. -

The FBI meter started out with about 1/12 of the meter filled in. We still don't know what caused this exactly, but I think we all agree that it meant that one player had started the game with whatever moves that FBI meter. That meter has been moving up reliably, but only Voe has ever reported any negative action taken against them. Why has that bar continued to move? -

It makes game sense because afterall, controlling the vote doesn't mean you will win the resulting battle, so the Shit have to entirely eliminate all Jedi. But that fact changes the likely game state. Needing to totally defeat the Jedi makes the game much harder for the Shit, so what adjustment was made balance things the other way again? We could be looking at an unusually large Shit team. If we do have an unusually large Shit team, then that changes how we should interpret things such as the FBI meter and also the lack of night kills. -

Has anyone else noticed that the victory conditions for the Shit require that ALL JEDI FALL? There is no mention of matching numbers or outnumbering Jedi. They must completely defeat the Jedi. -

I'm the one talking to Shade today. For a dead person, he's got a lot more to say than all of us still living. I've been able to get answers regarding questions I had about his role by asking questions in such a way that skirts the rules he's had enforced on him. He can't tell me he talked to Retaliation before, but given that he's restricted from doing so effectively confirms it as Retal has already talked about these restrictions. He can't tell me why the FP usages have changed, but he does know why, and I have gotten him to say that it's nothing he's concerned about. The rules are apparently that we have to figure out the why on our own. He's still going on about Nodlied not using his bonuses, but we're also talking about FRAYDO and Voe. Some of my questions so far today have been spurred by our discussions. I was also talking with him about something I realized over the last night that has entirely changed my outlook of this game. -

If you're so worried about being targeted, why didn't you rest when you still had FP left? If you still have FP, the Shit can't know if you will defend yourself or not. But now that you have none, they know for certain that you can be attacked. -

How many NFAs do you have? -

A 10 FP NFA that protects you from everything? That's not just more cost-effective, it's just flat better. -

Voe, Retaliation, did the Light Meditation and any other bonuses for winning combat match prior descriptions given by TheIrishman? -

Nodlied and Orange, I'm going to need confirmation from both of you on that statement since you both have also been supposedly targeted by such actions. -

FRAYDO, you previously said you were going to continue doing some action on TheIrishman. No mention of that today? -

I want to know if a target of Nodlied's "Force scan" action or whatever it was called, knows that they were scanned. -

I have a theory for why the FBI meter didn't move that might not have to do with resting, but we'll see what happens. -

Can't say I'm really surprised. I'm disappointed, though, because now the hard part begins. Nailing Jeod was easy, but now we have to find out who among the people that have pretty good evidence for being town, has faked their way into that position. The easiest case for me to believe is TheIrishman, because it's still only the result from Nodlied that makes me think he's town and I still have a lot of reasons to think he's not. But the fact that this case seems so easy is giving me some pause. The Retaliation case isn't that far away, given that I don't entirely like how Shade is suddenly unable to talk about certain things. On the other hand, since it has been hypothesized that Jeod may be a force ghost as well, I no longer consider the creation of a force ghost to really mean anything. We'll see if this continues or not, either way. I am beginning to question how powerful the town investigative roles are, given that they seem to be potentially pretty common. It seems odd for VERTi60 to give town so many ways to catch scum, unless those methods have a high chance of giving false clearance. One new note I'll mention is that I find Sunflower being stressed slightly interesting. Obviously, I know it's her first game, but things have been looking pretty good for town so far, with no nightkills and one Shit dead. I know I once got really stressed over the game at Mafia Universe, but it was because I had put myself in bad position and knew I was walking a tightrope. The timing of her stress seems to match with how a Shit might be getting overwhelmed at the bad game state they appeared to be in. Or...it might be an overreaction to being considered as a possible suspect. I'm not sure which it is, but because of OrangeP47, I don't give newbies "newbie credit" anymore when I would otherwise suspect others in the same position. I still think ChopBam is clear. I still think OrangeP47 is clear. I'm beginning to question Nodlied more now that I've decided to give serious thought to the idea that the Shit might not be in contact, giving him a reason to scan while still a Shit. I don't really have anything to add on anyone else that I haven't already said. -

Review notes: Jeod opened up Day 1 questioning TheIrishman over learning two things at once. I think this may be a sign that Jeod did not have a teammate that had the Intelligence skill, or that teammate didn't know of that bonus. Or it could be a bluff. I'm inclined to believe the former, which should lower suspicion for Nodlied, TheIrishman, and Voe, though if it was a bluff or simply missed, Voe was probably the teammate. Just realized that we had already gone over the idea that the Shit team might not be in contact back during Day 1. The discussion was triggered by a hint from VERTi60. Retaliation and OrangeP47 talked about it. Since this has been brought up multiple times, I'm beginning to think this might be true. Jeod prodded Shade to continue the fight against TheIrishman. If Irishman is a Shit, Jeod put him at risk by pushing Shade. Voe, what are the costs to the Light Meditation? Each time I go back and reread, I come back with no notes on Killing_You. His contributions haven't been grabbing my attention, so I don't even have a record on his positions. I've never seen K_Y have this little impact. I wonder if Sunflower's bait with Shade is the reason why we don't have another player affected by "dark force" things, but then if so, why did the FBI move? -

I'll point out, though, if moving the bar is an action, then Nodlied didn't do it. I would have seen the result otherwise. -

Right, though in that case, the suspects were also working against each other. Dead Space games would have split teams too, though they weren't always scum teams. -

Yeah, as someone said before, the only way it would make sense for Nodlied to use that action while being a Shit, would be if he needed to search for his team. Such a thing wouldn't be unheard of. Ghost Trick had the mafia team split up. If I remember right, there were two teams of two, and then a fifth that was working alone. Such a theory might have legs, too, given that we haven't had any nightkills or even any kind of adverse effect from the night outside of Voe's claimed fear thing. -

They could be, but if OrangeP47 was Shit and therefore paired with Jeod, then Jeod wouldn't have had that reaction to the news. -
