  1. I won't be around until about 11:00 PM, because I'll be at work. Which I am getting ready for now, so I'll just have to go with my top pick and let the votes fall where they may. I'll be happy with anyone from my list. ##trainer Sunny_You ##rocket Route30
  2. I can. I'm about as well prepared for an investigation as I ever will be. I kinda want to do it, but I'm probably not the strongest option available. The list I provided is actually just an example. I probably should have been more clear on that, as I may have accidentally influenced your answers. Here is my real list: Sunny_You - Top Pick TheIrishman Category5 Retaliation I may even be willing to send Shade because I kinda don't believe he has a Level 10 as his primary, and I'd like to see what it actually is. But I also don't really want to waste time or let a rocket suspect win, so, eh.
  3. Example: Jeod - Top Pick Sunny_You Retaliation TheIrishman
  4. Not now. For now we should sort out this investigation we're going to do today. After we've done that, we'll see if I have to return to this line of thought or not. I'd like to see who is willing to send who for the investigation today. Which people would be acceptable to you guys? Which of those is your top pick?
  5. Now, what I've just quoted is every post you're made in this thread up until you said "Like i said, It's been a while." My question for you is, where did you say anything like that?
  6. It is mostly because of TheIrishman's suggestion that she's doing this. Not exactly her own initiative. Brigette, you have experience in this kind of game, don't you?
  7. I'm sort of inclined to agree, but it could also be useful for town in the way it's being used right now.
  8. What, you want me to say that her ability seems more beneficial for a scum to have? I don't really have anything further to go on right now. I set a trap incase she was lying, but at least I know she has the ability she claims (or really good luck). Whether or not that means she's town or not is still up for discussion, but I'm not going to take this new info one way or the other.
  9. I did want you to confirm, yes. I wanted you to prove at least that you have the ability you say you have. And it appears you do.
  10. I'm not sure I'd encourage everyone to reveal their entire team, but because I have a unique case where I can effectively reveal my team while still having an element of mystery, what I'll say is that my roster is almost exactly the same as what I used last game. I switched out one Pokemon with a different one. Yes, I am that boring. For convienience, I'll remind you what me team was last game. Scyther Seel Pikachu Sandshrew Hitmonchan Pidgey
  11. How can you possibly be unprepared for an investigation at this stage of the game?
  12. I picked you because KY's a little fishy to me. He's caught up on the game but the only read he has is on Brigette? I think there are some people here who have good reason to be read as town, and he's not doing that, and also not explaining why he isn't. And yes, I did have a Scyther then, and I also have one now. It happens to be my second one I'm training up. Unfortunately this means I have to give more weight to my ability claim. I'll say with complete confidence that Jeod didn't have a Level 20 Electric pokemon Day 2. He didn't have a Level 20 anything Day 2.
  13. How much have you caught up on the events so far, KY?
  14. I think what I would be worried about now is giving our scum suspect a free kill and allow him to get even stronger, and this goes doubly for someone who has already won a battle. The time to send scum suspects to the wolves has past now that most of us can probably win.
  15. Nevermind, I'd be 2 HP short of killing it if it's back to full health. And then I'd be OHKO myself. If there is someone who has better odds, great, although I'm not getting a super good read on TheIrishman, and I'd prefer not to send him.
  16. Alright, well, I am ready to be in the fight today. Provided that the Psyduck isn't healed, I have a 100% victory chance. Actually, I think I should have 100% kill chance even if it is healed.
  17. The whole thing about banning moves is that players decide that the game isn't fun if specific tactics are allowed. But in my opinion, the 4-move limit is a big part of that problem. Gimmicky setups like the one I mentioned won't work when the opponent has more options to counter.
  18. Yeah, I'm aware of that. The 4 move limitation meant that the only way to combat that guy's style of play was to keep Swift-like moves on all of your pokemon, effectively meaning the only way to be competitive is have 3 moves plus Swift. If you have more moves, you have more room to respond to things. I'm talking reactive tactics, not unstoppable grand battle plans.
  19. I mean, you talk about tricky tactics, yeah, sure, you can build tricky pokemon. I watched a battle where one guy had 5 of the same pokemon and 1 of another, and he quickly made a pokemon that was super stacked in evasion and debuffed the hell out of his opponent until his opponent basically had no chance of ever hitting him and doing damage. But that build had nothing to do with reacting to what his opponent was, and was totally about setting a trap that would work on literally any opponent that doesn't have the move Swift somewhere on his roster.
  20. You can never cover everything. It's about being able to cover more options and making less-used moves more viable. Everything in pokemon has expanded multiple times over since the 90s, except the number of moves one pokemon can remember.
  21. Let's take that Psyduck for example. In it's natural learnset Scratch Tail Whip Disable Confusion Screech Psych Up Fury Swipes Hydro Pump The only move on this list that is totally replaced by something else is Tail Whip. No reason to have Tail Whip when you have Screech. Scratch has better accuracy than Fury Swipes and more PP. Disable is unique. Confusion is the only Psychic move. Psych Up is situational. Fury Swipes can do more damage than Scratch. Hydro Pump is the only Water move. With 4 moves, you're going to take Confusion Fury Swipes Hydro Pump And one of Disable or Screech. Maybe Psych up, but probably not. With 6 moves, you don't have to toss anything except Tail Whip. You can keep all useful moves. Then you can start digging into the TM pile. Dynamic Punch, highest power fighting move Headbutt, outclassed by Return Curse, I don't really know how this move works Toxic, tricky Poison move Rock Smash, most accurate Fighting move (less average damage than Dynamic Punch) Hidden Power, tricky move that might be a good option if you know how it works Snore, can be used ONLY WHEN USER IS SLEEPING. YOU GONNA FILL ONE OF FOUR SLOTS WITH THIS? Blizzard, most powerful Ice move, only 5 PP Icy Wind, more accurate than Blizzard, more uses, but is outclassed in both of those things by Ice Punch later, though this move very likely slows the target, which may be useful in limited cases. Protect, tricky move Rain Dance, weather changing move Endure, tricky move Frustration, tricky move but probably pointless Iron Tail, only Steel move it can learn, pretty powerful Return, probably best Normal move if happiness is high Dig, best Ground move it can learn Mud-slap, Ground move but not as good as Dig Double Team, nice evasion move Ice Punch, fairly powerful and most accurate Ice move Swagger, I don't like this move, but it has it's uses Sleep Talk can be used ONLY WHEN USER IS SLEEPING. YOU GONNA FILL ONE OF FOUR SLOTS WITH THIS? Swift, a move that can attack multiple opponents and skips accuracy checks Rest, a move that heals Attract, a move that only works on opposite gender opponents Surf, more accurate than Hydro Pump and more powerful than other water moves Strength, outclassed by Return Flash, nice accuracy reducing move Whirlpool, trapping move Waterfall, outclassed by Surf and Hydro Pump There aren't a whole hell of a lot of moves on this list that aren't useful to learn. Complicating things further is the fact that TMs are limited in number (or at least they used to be), so you aren't just picking which moves to assign to your pokemon, but also which specific pokemon you're going to give it to. You're going to have to build Psyduck with one objective in mind. If you want to have a Psyduck that can combat specific situations, you need to catch another Psyduck and assign a different set of moves to it. I don't have time in the day to do that. If you're building the pokemon on a website or hacking like true competitive pokemon players do, sure, you can build whatever pokemon you want in minutes, and that'll still be true if you have 6 moves instead of 4. But I'm talking about having more flexibilty with one pokemon, when actually playing the game.
