Any idea what the wishes could be?

So anyway, cards on the table: There are three dragon balls in play. If someone gathers them together, they can wish for a usable action. So get to wishing, nerds :P

So, someone has to gather all three of them three different times?

Or three different people make a wish.

What else aren't you telling us? Cause that seems just a little improbable of a goal... That's a lot of wishes to grant with even three dragon balls out there.

What more do you want to know? My nightkill immunity, perhaps? There's also the fact that I didn't have a goal in mind when designing this role (essentially a background element that could be useful to everyone, thus adding an interesting "side-goal" for people), but Jeod decided to give me the three wish goal.

@Killing_You, what is your objective even? You should have something to do in game other than wait for someone to use the dragonballs shouldn't you?

I have to grant three wishes. Doesn't matter to who, as long as they get granted. Now, quit bugging the neutrals.

After what I did to him Day 1, he would want  to eliminate me because otherwise I'd be on his case for the entire rest of the game. Especially since he knows he isn't Town.

Okay, that's speculation. But you're acting as if you know for certain.

I can be equally detrimental if one decides to try taking me out (or even succeeds). I can also be beneficial if they either try to protect me from the other side or give me any help in staying alive.

In every case I've seen before, a survivor is just trying to protect themselves with their abilities. Think of this as more like game theory or mutually assured "destruction". I obviously can't cause one side to just lose, but I can give one or the other a stronger advantage.

Nice. I ask because I could be equally beneficial to Town or Scum.

    Oh, yeah, I remember now.

It's been awhile since I've been Dragon Ball (Decades).  How would they be neutral? (This is an honest question)

iirc, both the good guys and the bad guys could use the Dragon Balls. I don't think the bad guys ever got them, it was always the good guys. But Shenron would have to grant the wish regardless of the holder.

Yeah, if you got the Dragon Balls you could wish for just about anything I think. If I remember correctly, the plot was often about a struggle to get them and use them for good. So KY probably doesn't have much of a choice in what gets wished. Maybe his goal is just to get somebody to collect them all and wish for something?

Indeed. In fact, the first person to gather the Dragon Balls was a villain (Pilaf), though his wish was intercepted by Oolong. Aside from that, other villains that used them were Garlic Jr, Lord Slug, and Dr. Kochin. Probably others, but I can't quite remember.

So anyway, cards on the table: There are three dragon balls in play. If someone gathers them together, they can wish for a usable action. So get to wishing, nerds :P

I mean, he could very well be flavored imposter and literally be anything.

True, which is why I'm not writing him off 100%.

Hmm... @iLikeToSnipe Just to clarify, you're claiming neutral, but you could be equally detrimental to Town and Scum, depending on the circumstances?

  7. 1 minute ago, Category 5 Hurricane said:

Wait, you're claiming neutral and you believe him?

Yes, I am claiming neutral. And he hasn't really given me too much of a reason to disbelieve him, so yes.

For clarity's sake, the sheer number of players combined with his vent action (which I doubt scum would use on D1 without significant pressure) make me inclined to believe him for now. It's not a set-in-stone "I'm not going to scumread you at all for the rest of the game" trust, more like "The evidence lines up, so for now I have no reason to suspect you."

I've been weighing my options and I think the best move for me to win in the long run is to reveal I'm The Impostor, a Neutral survivor (I'm surprised nobody picked up on the hints I dropped before). My kind has been ruthlessly hunted to near extinction by paranoid crewmates. I'm just trying to escape and survive instead of being thrown out the airlock.

The survivor role was something I've always thought lacked a little bit, so I've put my own spin on it for this game to test it out. I've opted for a more JOAT passive/active abilities that can make me an asset if I'm kept alive. I'll still do some scum hunting today (it's what I still enjoy), but make no mistake that my primary goal is my own survival.

If town tries to kill me, I can survive long enough to be a massive pain. If mafia tries to kill me, I can survive long enough to be a massive pain. So, I'm gonna stay mostly neutral and see what happens. But I will make a sincere effort to help out where I can.

Fascinating. Assuming you're telling the truth, that means we have two Neutrals ingame. Unusual, but not unheard of. I believe you.

  9. Alright, we're kinda getting away from the game here.

@Anon_KatDo you have anything else to report? What did you do last night? Did anything happen to you?

Also, are we missing reports from anyone, or has everyone checked in? I'm making lunch right now, so I can't check at the moment.

  10. To be fair, that's more of an issue with CYOR than most other setups IMO. Getting killed off before you get to use a cool role you took time to design is less fun than getting killed off before using a role baked into the setup and randomly assigned to you. I think that's part of why D1 NoLynch is a part of our meta; we play a ton of CYOR.

KY, are you shenron or something? If so I can make a wish to make that dream a reality. Although I’d more likely just wish for Town to win.

I was wondering who got the dragon balls (they were randomly dispersed at the beginning of N1.) Yeah, wish away, man. Just beware that some things might be beyond my power.

  12. 3 minutes ago, TheIrishman said:

No. Although now that you mention it, turning other players into disfigured Oompa Loompa versions of themselves would be very entertaining.

Hold the phone. I have to know. Are you a hellish, disfigured version of Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory?

Because if so, holy shit is that appropriate given the last time it was in Mafia.

There was a visceroid one too but it got shot D1 I think?

Oh, yes! THAT game! Truth be told, the visceroid got overshadowed by Jeod's incredible scumplay (or Town's bottemless gullibility with Cat5 being the sole exception, take your pick.)
