  1. lol, mixed up hijacker and spy. Hijacker being unable to hijack would be kind of a major error, lol.
  2. Yeah, I remember that much. First discovered APB just before the update where they removed snipers from the purchase menu.
  3. I've seen some of those models before. I thought it was a very early internal alpha for APB, I don't know. Did APB ever have red heavy tanks in any public or internal builds? I didn't start playing until it hit gamma.
  4. "Hijacker can steal vehicles again." Was that removed? Because I swear I've stolen vehicles straight from the WF as a spy sometime in the last couple days.

  6. Also, what's keeping you from getting the GS out of this safe zone? Flame tank is probably one of the easier vehicles to keep infantry out of your blind spot, of the ones have have a spot.
  7. I was thinking it just be one faction, with the other playing the role of "Yuri." If you want to invest in both arsenals though, I wouldn't be opposed.
  8. A lot of vehicles have safe zones for uncrushable infantry. Given the Devil's Tongue can submerge itself at a moments notice when not in a no-submerge zone (which is really just inside the GDI base), it's sort of a an acceptable weakness. Just my two cents.
  9. Hmm.... Allies and Soviets fighting eachother for something Yuri's forces have. I like it. Or perhaps some coop map like I've seen on APB and other unaffliated conversions. One faction against a Yuri base protected by bots. Anything that can include Yuri's army in Apoc Rising that wouldn't entail the nigh-impossible task of adding everything in Yuri's arsenal and making it balanced for a standard map.
  10. How much more work would it be creating if apoc rising was finished to a public release on the current engine, everything from this point forward designed with an engine change in mind? I'm not opposed to converting to newer engines if the devs want to switch, while we all enjoy the games on w3d in the meantime as it's being done, but I would like to see a public release of apoc rising before that happens so we can at least play while it's being converted.
  11. I remember back in the infantry beta for Reborn I came across a texture pack that reclored Nod structures in the blue team color to make them look like Cabal's forces. I can't seem to find it anymore. Has it been expanded to include structures in the current public version? And can I use it in multiplayer games without compatability issues?
  12. This is for the unit and the faction. Now, I know the faction will not be in the game as a normal faction, that's been made clear. I'll get to that in a moment. What I am unclear on is the soviet Yuri unit/psicorps trooper. the FAQ on moddb says the unit will be in the game. However, a dev (forget who) said about a year ago in a match the unit and mind control as a whole won't be present. Which is it, and how will the unit work in-game if it is in? As for the army, It's perfectly understandable they won't be a full faction. However, What about special Co-op matches or crate drops (virus sniper rifle anyone?)? Some of the relatively "easy" Yuri stuff like gatling guns, initiates, non-functional base structures, and maybe even their own engineers/technicians, while leaving the difficult stuff like psychic towers and chaos tech out of the equation. That way, you can still have Yuri without a need for balancing and coding the hard abilities his forces possess. Keep in mind I'm just thorwing out ideas. No one's demanding this be done. Sometimes I get yelled at for far-fetched ideas, hehe.

  14. I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask, but on the topic of cutscenes, does anyone know of a high quality close up of the conscript mask prop used in the RA2 cutscenes? I can't find it anywhere.

I don't know the new engines systems specs, but on account of the comment that the new engines use the systems more efficiently and smoothly, would rts engines like the one C&C3 runs on be an indicator on how well it would work on a pc? Because I can run that one fairly smoothly at max graphics.
  16. I'm no any more than maybe 3-4 years behind the latest and greatest game engines. What I mean is, are these new engines so new most people don't have the hardware to play it yet, or could anyone with a gaming pc made 2010 or after us ethese engines?
  17. I haven't played vanilla RA2 or YR or any other mods for those games since Mental Omega hit 3.0. I also like that "Tiberium Origins" mod for OpenRA. Not sure how balanced it is (haven't tested everything), but it combines Tib Dawn and RA, using a duel resource system. All the sides mine ore, but tech center/equivalent unlocks tiberium refinery and stuff, uses separate storage than ore. They're also working on "interim" factions between the storylines of TibDawn and RA1, such as black ops 9 which is already in the latest release.
  18. I just don't want to have to buy things to get the same performance on the new engine as w3d. What are the recommended specs for the new engines in mind? Since this doesn't seem to just be discussing udk anymore.
  19. I and I'm sure many others would like to see that elaborated on (I saw BHP's explanation and they too don't go any further in elaborations than "we had disputes"). But also, what does it mean for apoc rising, reborn, and other projects. One of the replies to the BHP thread said something about what are now w3d projects taking a back seat under BHP. Does this mean we can see faster development for these projects now?
  20. If it was upgraded to UDK, would it still be standalone (don't need to purchase some other game)? My point regarding waiting times still stands, however. How much time would it take to convert apoc rising to the new engine? And would finishing a public release of apoc rising on w3d severly increase the time it would take to convert everything?
  21. I've had this idea for a while now. A dedicated ww1 style infantry-only trench warfare map where there is a trench network for both sides, and the only way to attack the enemy without arcing projectiles is by going "over the top." Maybe have class/weapon spawners at spawn instead of random crates. Could be adapted for any one of the games.
  22. I don't know. Considering the levels of lag many players already face, and that few may possess the means to upgrade, it sounds like an unnecessary upgrade that would leave many in the dark. What's wrong with w3d? It's dated but it works. And no offense, but it would be wasteful to further delay long-anticipated releases and updates any further because of a switch-over to a new engine when it was not necessary to begin with.
  23. Hey, nice to finally be able to get involved on the forums. Because of technical computer stuff, I couldn't register at BHP, but I've been playaing on and off under multiple gamer tags since APB went to Gamma. I'm very much interested in seeing APoc Rising released and (finally) getting to play it. I hope I'm not out of line by asking this, but why the split from BHP? It's not stated anywhere I've looked, this site or elsewhere, why.
