Welcome to this week's blog. Just the usual stuff to get through <h3>RA2_Iceland</h3> dtrngd's new map is shaping up to be good as he hits on into the texturing phase. We have two new screenshots to show you along with a video of our friend, Sergei the Frostcript. WIP shots are taken in APB. <embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src=" http://i153.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid153.photobucket.com/albums/s206/dtrngd/Sergei.flv"></embed> <h3>Model Updates</h3> rm5248 has finished model work on the Portable Flak Cannon for the Flak Trooper. This operates as follows: Primary fire will be a lobbed ball of flak that will tear through infantry and have some minor splash damage to go with it. Secondary fire will be a straight shot that will only be able to hurt aircraft armour and the special armour type we are giving to rocketeers. Killa recently contacted me and asked if he could do some freelance work for us. I agreed and got him working on the Iron Curtain as a first model for us. The first WIP is below. <h3>Input required</h3> We would like your input on something concerning Apocalypse Rising and the Soviet Side. Should we give the Soviets the Cosmonaught infantry in the normal game modes as well as a special moon map (if we do one)? The Cosmonaught was basically a rocketeer with a high powered laser that cost around 1000 credits to build. He was only on the penultimate soviet mission in Yuri's Revenge. Concept 1 Concept 2 We'd like to hear your thoughts on this matter. <h3>Team News</h3> Me and cfehunter are off camping with friends on friday until sunday I had friends camping at my place on Sunday til Monday. Here is a picture. AMG I'm in my dressing gown We have a new team member. Alex has joined us as a texture artist, he has experience in making HUD graphics so expect to see some cool HUD textures soon Merovingian reinstalled windows XP and will be working on the Soviet Refinery once he gets the model from lazy OWA. I've been rigging things for APB and have now started working on a load of fun extras for you to find. My girlfriend also got a new computer so I'll make sure to get her playing APB soon danpaul88 has been working on the standalone build, but it has hit a dead end whilst waiting for assets. The Vengeance files will fill up that gap and we should have a build to the testers soon afterwards. TheKGBspy is an awesome guy We are looking into some crossovers with APB. I won't give the game away but I'll give on example. When you capture a Tech Lab you may get an APB unit/infantry as your bonus unit. Apocalypse Rising is going really well and it's not only thanks to us, but it is thanks to you, the fans, for supporting us and making all this worth doing. We have found our niche in the Renegade Mod Market and we will make it spectacular. <h3>!gameover NOW</h3> Thats all for this week, se you next week for more Apocalypse Rising funfunjoyjoys!

We have some special/funny/cool stuff to show you this week so take a look below. <h3>Menu and more</h3> Check out the sexy new menu that I recieved recently from TheKGBspy along with some more footage from the RA2 Vengeance test. Video is epic. >>>Click for video<<< <h3>RA2_Iceland</h3> dtrngd has been busy working on another new map in a snow based environment. RA2_Iceland. Here are some WIP shots of the map and a new friend to introduce you to, Sergei the Frostcript "What time is it? A Commie!!!! Oh wait.... it's AR Blog time " "I'm gonna jump!" <h3>Shaders and Cartoons</h3> Although Saberhawk was fired, he has continued to work on a few little things for AR on a freelance basis. This includes our brand new cartoony lighting shader. Check it out below. Regular Light Shadered Light <h3>New feature Possiblility</h3> To add in some personality to the mod we may make three differant heads for each character (excluding hero units and units with covered faces) so when you select a character, one of the three differant heads is used. It stops us having clones running around the battlefield. Here is an example using what is supposed to be a likeness of Coolrock as the Starshina. <h3>Extras Shortlist</h3> Ric unwrapped the Beretta BogdanV and danpaul88 are figuring out how to do rebuildable buildings. These will require the use of a separate cash pool for the team to use. This fund will cover automated base repairs and rebuilding minor defence structures and the buying of extra miners. This will encourage people to always keep the team fund stocked up. CMDBob has made a little mod for APB baesed on Homeworld 2, it is pretty fun for dogfights between the three types of space ship he has put on the map. He requires an unwrapper for a little bit of work though, since some of the textures in the Capital ship's control room are seriously screwed up and the mesh needs unwrapping. Screens here and here. <h3>End</h3> Not much else to show you this week really. Next week we shall have oodles of stuff to show you. Welcome to this repiar based blog where I will be taking you through some neat new engineer assets that have recently been made. <h3>The Engineer</h3> rm5248 has been busy on a new engineer model. this is currently WIP so he will not look the same as he is now. He carrys the obligatory roll of duck tape and can of WD40 to show that he means buisness. <h3>His Tools</h3> Poggel modelled the engineer's utility case and then cfehunter textured it. The engineer will carry this case into battle. It will provide repair and capture functions for use on buildings and tech buildings. (Enemy buildings are not going to be capturable). (Look below for images. Click for bigger ones.) <h3>Banner</h3> The_Aces_of_Razgriz has whipped us up a new banner ready for the new website and forum skin to be put into action. Check it out here. <h3>Calling all modders</h3> Apocalypse Rising needs you! At the moment we are in dire need of texture artists and character artists to get the mod rolling faster. Contact me or cfehunter if you think that you are capable of doing this. <h3>Next week</h3> I was aiming to show you lots of stuff this week but I can't because I didn't recieve the neccessary files. Lol, that wasn't AR, that was RA2 Vengeance, which we have been given the assets to merge into AR.

There is no mention in the Allied Campaign of this, only in the Soviet Campaign which isn't the one that leads to Yuri's Revenge. Romanov gets killed in the Soviet Campaign, but not in the Allied one so the campaigns can't be interlaced either.

It's all correct in the canon of the universe but we don't need an actual story until we decided to do a singleplayer mode.

Thats Allies and Soviets, not Yuri's side. we are including the extra units for their relevant sides.

You won't see Yuri for a while, if at all. But the soviets do have a Yuri unit so you will see him in that sence.
