  1. @ MPRA2 My apologies for not seeing this until now. I didn't get a notification for some reason. You've gotten about as far as I have until a possibly newer copy was located by one of our staff recently. I still haven't dug into it properly to see what it is, but at first glance it looks like it might be 1.6 :)

Im having the same problem. Did you fix this?

So that we can best help you, please start a new thread and describe your issue for us. This thread is old (please don't necro), there are a couple different issues talked about here, and yours could be completely different. Also the outcome (solution or not) in this case is not recorded...

Please provide screenshots, system information, and a good description of your issue and we'll do what we can to help. Thank you.

I heard these weird noises before when playing your TSR inf beta port to 4.x where I had vsync off and I had a few thousand FPS. I instantly closed the game and the noise stopped. Luckily no harm was done in that time.

Yeah that would be where it would happen. RenArchive type games specifically are able to hit crazy FPS.

Another reason for the 300 FPS cap is that some GPU's do not handle 'run-away FPS' very well, to the point where it can inflict damage to a GPU. If you leave the game open on the menu at 2000+ FPS for a while and your GPU has some faulty components, chances exist something breaks.

If your GPU has coil whine issues, you'd start to hear it very loud in these extremely high-FPS situations, as well.

So it is purely a safety measure, and one tested for quite a while in W3D 5 already.

Wow, I learned something there Raap. A few GPUs back, I had a weird noise with certain applications only, and I never quite identified it. I bet it was the whine you speak of. Its sounded kinda like bad capacitors in a power supply, but only happened with certain games (specifically games) and the noise changed with what was happening on-screen.

It would be a massive favor to name drop us in your description so that people can check out www.w3dhub.com. That way you wouldn't have to follow up yourself or wait for someone to every video.

Precisely. If they find us, they'll find the launcher, which has instructions. And if they have trouble, they can always ask us for help here.

  6. The cap is much needed. "Glitches" above 300 fps is a modest description from what I've been told. A while back, we had a tester who claims to have gotten over 1000 fps while testing a very old (and thus minimally demanding) game on a 4.6 engine version while uncapped. The behavior he described is extremely game-breaking.

And yeah, if the FPS exceeds your refresh rate, I don't see how there could be a benefit, technically speaking.

You are not alone with this problem, he also threatened and harassed me, it started in orca heights when I was laying mines, I had 0 points and he wrote in pm that if I don't have any soon he will consider me afk and so it started

Please make your own thread if you wish to file a formal complaint.

I see there is a server on w3d hublauncher that shows rencorner open. I was an old mod on that server back in the day and cant for the life of me figure out how to get back online to play time flies please help stuck after trying to install scripts 4.7 where do i install these scripts cant find folder.

    Hi there, and welcome back!

First you need to find your game folder. You have Renegade from Origin, correct? Should be at C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin\Renegade or something like that. You'll want to direct the scripts installer to that folder - the one that contains game.exe and the data folder. Let us know if you still have issues after trying that!

  9. Just a thought here, it may or may not be related. Check the permissions and ownership of the folder in question as well as the files inside. Im on mobile currently or I would send you this myself, but you can google and find a quick reg edit that will add a "Take Ownership" option to your context menu. Use it to take ownership of the folder and see if it changes anything.

Also, does your user have administrative priveledges? And are you running the game/launcher elevated or no? Currently the launcher elevates automatically so that it can update games, and because of this, the game processes are also spawned as admin processes. Sometimes this can do weird stuff, and sometimes it actually doesnt happen, which again causes weird stuff (permissions). Its rare, but its a thing so I just thought I would mention it.

Hello, i  use Ubuntu 21.04, on the installation use "3 partś "

after installation auto update, software center updates, ctrl+alt+T

    sudo apt-get install wine-stable
    sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install wine32

     reboot

software center, playonlinux  > w3d hub

but framework 4.7.2  cannot  istall,  "works  only for 64bit?"

    for lutris +winetricks tape ctrl+alt+T

    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:lutris-team/lutris

    sudo apt update

    sudo apt install lutris

So this is a working method for the launcher and the games to run? What about the .net framework error, does that affect anything?
