  1. Jeod should not be in danger at this time unless there is someone who gets cute and vote switches at the end of day. Such a move would have obvious consequences though. Outside of that, it could be interesting in how votes switch around regarding who winds up #2, as scum tries to comply with my plan without letting one of their own get copped.
  2. TheIrishman should be home in a little bit to confirm, unless they keep him late due to me not being present. Unfortunately, I wound up bursting one of my ear drums last night and chose to go to the doctor today instead of work when it hadn't healed this morning. So now my little gambit was unnecessary and maybe a little counter productive if scum have the means to stop me. I'll be here until hammer, and then I'll have to leave right away again to pick up some meds.
  3. ##vote nolynch also minor correction to last post "...I [will] ALWAYS be at work during hammer."
  4. Ok, there's almost absolutely nothing to talk about here, so as usual it falls to me to make Day 1 interesting. I want to go along with kamuixmod's idea. I want to nolynch today. In addition, I want at least one person to be one vote less than the total for nolynch. Why do I want that, you ask? Two reasons. The first is because I want to setup a game of chicken with the scum team. Scum don't ever want a failed lynch. So what would happen if we were to place nolynch and <someone else> up as our vote targets as the day nears it's end? I bet it'll make scum get twitchy, no matter the alignment of the chosen counter-wagon. The second reason? I've got an extra reason to cause this to happen. GET READY FOR THIS! IT'S FULL ROLE CLAIM TIME BECAUSE YOU ONLY LIVE AS MANY TIMES AS IT TAKES TO LIVE! I'm Akane Kurashiki. Yes, again. I'm technically the one of the villains of the Zero Escape series, while also being one of the survivors. This made me a wildcard where TheIrishman could choose which side he wanted my role to be. He wound up making me neutral, to allow me to decide which way to go in the same way Akane did. My win condition isn't hostile to either side, as besides surviving, I also need to trigger my passive day action at least once. While I'm the same character, my role is not. If the vote at the end of the day ends in such a way that I could change the result of the vote by switching my vote, during the next night, I'll use the morphogenetic field to see what that history would have been. I will see what would have happened if someone else was lynched. This makes me a conditional cop role. At the time I came up with this, I thought it was pretty clever. However, seeing my schedule coming up, I see now that I'm going to have a very hard time triggering this action as I was ALWAYS be at work during hammer. I'll need help setting up this scenario. So, in short, let's follow along with kamuixmod and nolynch today and allow everyone to survive Day 1. As long as someone winds up with just one less vote than nolynch, we'll still learn something from the lynch. Therefore, there is no downside to this. Other than someone shooting me before the day ends...which would be bad for me personally, but would find you guys mafia, so bonus!
  5. I've been sick all weekend, so I might not be around a whole hell of a lot for these first couple days. Backed out of a MU game before it even started because of that. Obviously don't have anything worth commenting on other than the fact that ChopBam is clearly hedging his vote to try to stay under the radar.
  6. You know exactly what I'm going to say. Just give it a few seconds before moving on to the next post and see if you are right.
  7. Yeah, I had to work out a possible role with him as well. I'm not really into the theme, but we eventually got a role that makes us both happy.
  8. Yes, and Mojoman accidentally accessed Misa's Organization doc early on in the game. Good thing it was a Quantum Game, or that mistake would have required a modkill to fix.
  9. I'm usually pretty good at spotting Jeod's scumplay, and he's looking pretty town so far if you ask me. I think you just got scared.
  10. What's this? Einstein can't take the pressure and just shoots out of turn? That's mighty damn suspicious, and you better hope Jeod flips as scum at the end of the day.
  11. It's a Halloween mafia and it isn't Dead Space themed!? Thank marker!
  12. Right, although if you want to get around the rules, all you need to do is host a couple uncomplicated open-setup games (which a new GM should probably do anyway) and then you can do what you want.
  13. Open setup games have their own uses. For example, Steins;Gate was a mostly-open setup. The majority of the game setup was open, as long as you could get your head around how it worked. The only rules hidden were limited to lab leadership and the time machine. Open setups can even be designed to include more possible roles than actually exist. For example, the game I just played in at MU was a matrix game. It was technically open setup, but you didn't know which setup on the matrix was the one being used. Only mafia knew for sure which one it was.
  14. Another way to deal with the possibility of losing a potential player by revealing the setup is to design the game as an open setup game, where everyone will know the details anyway. If you can't do that for this game, another option is to run a different game entirely until you've earned enough GM cred to run the game as designed.
  15. I'm afraid the moment where you went wrong is when you wrote a post indicating your application to this game, and then pressing the "Submit Reply" button. I saw the proposed setup and pretty much went HELL NAW.
  16. Yeah, that's why I said "Cannot comply, building in progress" It's a Red Alert-themed way of saying that I'm already tied up in a game.
  17. The game has started. That's as much as I'm allowed to say. http://www.mafiauniverse.com/forums/threads/11893-Season-4-Backup-Game-2-Monopoly-Murder
  18. More like the game probably needs to be adjusted based on the number of players. A 12 player minimum is rather optimistic for this board, especially when doing an off-the-walls concept.
  19. Oh, right, that's kinda important isn't it. It's been sent now.
  20. They're using automatic vote counters, so good luck detecting and correctly assigning misspelled names. The official response to the "problem" was to make the system loudly report a vote that is invalid, in addition to officially making fake voting against the rules.
  21. Speaking of game composition and roles, it does seem that basic vanilla setups are most popular there. Hell, I just saw a guy drop from the backups game because the setup included one alignment cop. No other roles, just vanilla town, alignment cop, and vanilla mafia. That said, there are always several different games open, so if you're looking for a game there, there's multiple to choose from. Failing that, there's even a forum section where people advertise games that they run on other sites.
