  1. Are you planning on re-adding a modding section to the forum where people can upload textures etc.? Whatever happened to the idea for adding a modding section to the launcher? Any plans for a TSR and RA2:AR crossover map or event when AR gets released? (NOD + GDI vs Allies + Soviets, how awesome would that be)
  2. That... was.... AWESOME! can't... hit.... the like button... fast enough :f5h: (oh wait that means i'm liking then unliking it [whoops]) Ok, on a more serious note that was really good and you can tell that a lot of effort was put into making it.
  3. I wish I'd known about these commands, might'a saved my Juggernaut from being commandeered for a suicide charge on NODS base several games ago when I got out to move an abandoned Wolverine from my firing spot.
  4. I hated how confudled the control scheme was and how non of the units (marines at least) responded to being attacked right up until the very last second... kinda made you wonder if they knew they even had guns Also insti failing missions because your comm officer who kept you intouch with the reinforcement dropship decided to go walkeys and get himself killed got tedious after awhile. Aliens were fun, dragging poor smucks off to be hosts for your glorious hive, and by glorious hive I mean 85% of the level Worst Console port (for me at least) was Supreme Commander 1, basically take the PC version: Turn the graphics to minimum settings Limit the unit cap to less than half what the PC can handle Blurr everything and I mean everything Throw in a couple of unique units exclusive to the console (and make it so the UEF one is the only good one - infact make it gamebreaking) Murder matchmaking with a pickax Show PC gameplay footage at the start to mock your lowly Console experience And the Xbox 360 still couldn't handle it, once you approached the max unit cap or if you had the audacity to load up a save made midgame then all the textures would turn shiny and silver, keep going and the audio would hang, and if you decided to launch more than three nukes during a large battle (with ground and air units) the whole game would freeze. Handy tip, if you ever want to play an amazing RTS... get the PC version.
  5. Supreme Commander 1 (which can actually overload an Xbox 360) Halo Wars (designed for consoles) Dark Reign (Xbox indie store... for some reason) Age of Empires 2 (Ps2 - actually a very good port and bloody good fun) AVP Extinction (IMO - avoid like the plague) DUNE (+ DUNE 2000) LOTR Battle for Middle Earth (okayish but meh controls) R.U.S.E (never played) Supreme Commander 2 (never played on console) TC Endwar (never played) Universe at War (never played) WarZone 2100 (Ps1 - good control scheme and pretty fun if somewhat hard and complicated)
  6. You just had to record the ending with my embarrassing single kill and tiny, tiny score didn't you (only jk)
  7. You could always add a TD refinery to some maps (namely Shallows) with a drop off zone for both teams... kinda have everyone fight over it to provide a better resource drop zone for their team while deniying the enemy (make it close to a tib field both sides harvesters can access) build a bit of a base around them and wham, nostalgia factor 9001 complete with rose tinted glasses for added 'sigh'.
  8. Oh rly? And yet you managed to get a quarter of the health of the Mk2 even though you had a C4ing Ummagon, what appears to be at least two mutant rebels (and those rifles hurt even against vehicles), a Wolverine and the Mk2 firing on you... and The Mammoth Mk1 wasn't hindered law wise by: + the build speed of components and complexity of the locomotion system + the fact that only one could be supported at any given time by a Commander on the field... so yeah, makes you wonder what GDI was thinking with the bullseye Mk2 (oh kay, I will admit the Mk2 has MUCH better armour than the MK1 and that the rail gun packs a bit more punch but seriously, who thought mounting them directly to the chassis instead of a turret was a good idea?)
  9. He already IS radar invisible I think? I'm sure that was added months ago... Didn't feel like it, most vehicles I approached new exactly where I was even when I tried to hit them from a blind spot or waited until they were engaged by other forces and as I approached most of them turned to shoot at me. I suppose it could be that someone else warned them that I was getting close but still... it seems a tad hard to actually steal anything which does kinda render the unit somewhat pointless Maybe give them a grappling hook that can be used to rapidly pull yourself to a target vehicle within X distance from yourself or some emp charges you can slap on vehicles to screw with them for a bit (not as long as emp mines) [edit] Oh wow, NOD really has been owning GDI, guess yesterday was just a case of getting used to the new balance changes (and everyone fighting over that Mammoth)
  10. Juggernaut has a missing hip guard when deployed (circle thingy on leg)
  11. -Mutant Hijacker is pretty poor at stealing anything these days, could possibly use some love (radar invisibility springs to mind) -GDI Component Towers seem to take insane amounts of damage from light rifles (two guys slaughtered the component towers on field just before the patch went live despite the fact I was repairing it with an engie) -Don't know if it was a balance issue or just bad luck but NOD seemed to be getting Curb Stomped yesterday by GDI +Sound effects are awesome now +Aircraft death is Epic +Mammoth Mk1 is INSANELY powerful (makes you wonder why GDI even bothered making the Mk2) +Bike handles MUCH better
  12. Well they would be on the same "team" as far as the game knows. It would just be a...superteam i guess is the word. It would just have all units from both sides. Friendly fire would protect against that because its all on the same side, just not the way we see it. Tell me if im making sense.... I understand it I can't think of a way to have 2 war factories building different units though. Not on the same team. You could just have a mixture of both factions buildings, eg. Allies WF , Soviet Barracks, Allied PP, Soviet Refinery, Allied ground defense turret, Soviet AA turret etc. make the area around the base quite small and it would give the impression that both commanders had only limited room to work with when setting up the base so couldn't set up multiples of the same structure (eg. Allied WF and Soviet WF)
  13. I agree, which is why I suggested the idea to add a more powerful 'gun orientated' version of the Buggy and Wolverine that focused more on shootting stuff than mowing it. While this is probably possible (not sure), it sounds an awful lot like the tech level system that was in place on APB a while back, which was very unpopular. Thats just my opinion though, it might work well if properly implemented Again agreed, it would need to be carefully balanced and considered however the big difference between my idea and BHP tech level system is that your not locking entire sections of the game behind a 'time wall' rather you are locking an upgrade behind the time wall that makes Wolverines and Buggies more attractive late game by giving them weapons that can mulch Infantry which might be unbalanced early game before stronger Anti - vehicle units come out to play. You still get these units at the start of the game in their current format, just later on after X time has past they get more powerful. Another way to think of it is that you are giving them Elite status instantly when purchased (or if you already have one) after X seconds has passed ingame because most higher tear Infantry and vehicles tend to view them as target practice by mid game and a buff could keep them useful as escorts for the bigger stuff. It's just a thought of course, I mean it's your game so if you feel something would totally unbalance it or detract from the experience then don't do it. Don't make the same mistake HAWKEN did by blindly listening to the community and caving in to their every whim.
  14. Thing is, the buggy can run people over easily (insti kills everything except GS and Uma) whereas the Wolverine struggles to run over even Cyborgs (which does nothing to them anyway) And the Wolverine still sucks at killing Infantry in most cases due to bunny hopping Infantry being very hard to hit (but it rapes Nod laser turrets, even though said turrets sliced Wolverines to bits in the TS cutscenes) I wonder if you could have something like a timer ingame set up so that once the game hits a certain period (ie roughly when people have the money for the good stuff like Titans and Tick Tanks) a beefed up version of the Buggy/Wolverine becomes available and replaces the original version. Give them lock on guns/auto turrets perhaps or add aoe splash damage or even wide projectiles similar to the disruptor to make gunning down footsloggers easier.
  15. It could potentially be done like the mutants in TSR, in that the Yuri faction is a NPC threat that randomly spawns on some maps to attack both sides. And keep throwing out ideas, we like ideas around here and god knows i've suggested some stupid c++p in the past here which has actually been discussed without people jumping up and down on me (Stomping shock wave attack for the Mammoth Mk2 springs to mind) Everyone here is usually rather nice and civilised... unlike some other forums I know of.
  16. I love it, your team was like "Oh kay, we have three Juggernauts on the bridge" while at the exact same time our team was like "Oh kay, why do we have three Juggernauts blocking the bridge?" also YOUKILLEDMYJUGGERNAUT! What did it ever do to you.
  17. I like the current strong armor type. But I would decrease healthpoints to 200 or 230 because of this speed buff. And the juggernaut really needs a speed increase. Its even moonwalking due to its slow moving in combination with the walking animation. And the unit is not that powerful (not like the mk2) to justify this slow movement. The huge explosions from the shells arent on par with its non existent splash damage. Why dont give a salve (3 shots) of this unit a bit higher damage values than the arty? The splash damage should be a bit lower than the arty. But the spread of the shells should be high (just like in tiberian sun). and reduce the rate of fire and reload speed too, the things like a darn machine gun if you hold left mouse button down.
  18. Tis all good, you managed to find, diagnose, correct and re-patch the issue in a matter of hours as well as hand over extra content... Took GearBox 3 months to fix bugs in Aliens Colonial Marines and they still haven't fixed the Dust in Borderlands 2. So yeah, a mod team out does a AAA dev in customer service (I'd take my hat off but it appears I took it off a few posts ago and now can't seem to recall where I put it down)
  19. This is why W3D staff are the best, not only do they get s++t done but they get extra s++t done too that wasn't even there before. I take my hat off to you good air.
  20. (drops to knees arms raised skyward) NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! We... we were so close to Juggernaut mayhem (sobs)
  21. A silence descended upon the world for a time no one could speak as we looked upon the post with awe. Finally one quiet voice from within the crowd spoke with trepidation "It's... the update" Sunbeams descended from the heavens as Angels danced singing "HALLELUJA! HALLELUJA!" And thus world peace was achieved, everyone was happy (and NOD got pounded flat by Juggernauts)
  22. Maybe you could make them smart discs which are semi-homing, as in they will curve slightly towards the nearest bad guy to where they are thrown or give them proximity fuses that cause them to detonate mid flight if an enemy is within the blast radius.
  23. I guess W3d hub has taken up 'Valve time' so it's still technically the weekend for them... I just hope they don't decide to pick up Valves deep grained Arithmophobia of the number 3 as well either that or there trying to the update when we least expect it.
  24. Any minute eh? 0_o (only joking... nice video)
