  1. Part 2 Cry of Fear http://store.steampowered.com/app/223710/ A FPS horror game based on the Half Life 1 engine and can be quite unnerving at times with enemies ranging from traditional zombie like psychos to stuff dragged kicking and screaming straight out of Silent Hill (floating ghost women with knife wielding babies springs to mind) Has a good plot twist to it and an interesting coop campaign that follows on from where the single player game ended (and makes you question what actually happened in the single player game) Orion Dino Prelude keep an eye out on this website http://trek-industries.com/?post_type=forum Every so often the dev's do a give away where they post unlock codes for the game, I believe there may be a one going on at the moment. As for the game itself its basically a Killing Floor clone with dinosaurs and jetpacks, it was horrendously broken upon launch but at this moment and time most issues have been fixed while the game itself can be quite fun if you manage to get into a multiplayer game (AI bots are dumb in single player and by dumb I mean 'trying to kill a T-Rex with a knife while Raptors eat the objective' dumb) Void Destroyer This one is for modders only http://steamcommunity.com/app/259660/discussions/0/648816742655449286/ The dev of Void Destroyer likes mods and modders so has a challenge in place where anyone with a modding background (that they can prove) who has a cool idea for a mod for Void Destroyer can contact the developer and potentially receive a free copy of the game so that they can make their mod come to life. If you already own the game you can get more copies free by finding game killing bugs, once the dev verifies the bugs existence by duplicating it, you get a game key as a thank you. As for what Void Destroyer is, it's a space Fps/Rts hybrid with semi-Newtonian physics and a very HomeWorld 2 feel to it where you build fleets and command them via an Rts overhead camera then dive down into the action by taking control of any unit you wish, from tiny snub fighters to kilometer long battleships, and then fight it out with the enemy in a very Wing Commander-esc fashion... It's also INSANELY hard with somewhat awkward controls but could potentially win the award for most bullets on screen at the same time.
  2. Syndicate is currently free on Origin https://www.origin.com/en-gb/store/free-games/on-the-house it's a pretty old but decent enough tactical turn based strategy game in the Xcom vein of things. also GOG has a free games page here: http://www.gog.com/games##sort=bestselling&price=free&page=1 I'd recommend Beneath a Steel Sky which is a point and click adventure game set in a distopian future of malfunctioning robots and dictatorial governments. And here's a remake of a very Very Very old Aliens game (1987) http://derbian.webs.com/lv-426/ You play as the marines + Rippley as you move around Hadleys hope and the atmospheric processor trying to find and destroy the Aliens lair... it's a super basic fps that is stupidly hard and insanely fun (it even does coop) I'd also recommend checking out Outpost 41 on the same website, uses the same system as Lv426 (basic FPS) but is set in its own universe and has a more horror aspect to it (god damn jump scares) and vertical game play (multi leveled base) I'll post some more later or tomorrow
  3. lol, I think I was on Nod team that game. I grabbed a Stealth Tank early on specifically to counter an AAPC, but since nobody responded when I asked "where's it headed?" I went to guard Refinery. They went to PP... Yeah, I was at the PP with a rocket soldier to try and stop them but failed... Whoever was driving that AAPC was good, they came in at an angle that made it look like they were going to go for the Refinery then at the last second turned to hit the PP giving us almost no time to warn anyone. I was halfway through typing 'AAPC heading for Refinery' when they turned to hit the PP and had to quickly delete what I was typing while also trying to avoid getting squashed by an angry Yolo Bus. Shame everyone quit after that
  4. Aren't always available... last game of TS_field I had, it took NOD 4-5 Tick Tank rushes to finally break GDI and this took ages to set up as NOD had lost their PP and one tib silo Map design might also contribute to some of the issues being raised here, NOD in particular gets shafted on a few maps where GDI can trollololol into their base via the Yolo bus and choose to strike at several targets with almost no warning for NOD and very little reaction time. Again I'm going from experience here, TS_Crossroads - roughly 25 - 35 seconds into the match as NOD sets off in buggies to harass GDI, a player screams (types) INCOMING AAPC! At which point all hell breaks loose as people start asking 'where?' and 'where is it heading?' Anyway to cut a long story short, about 10 seconds later the dreaded AAPC comes hurtling up out of the water and crashes into the side of NODS PP releasing a bunch of engineers and officers who tear the PP down so fast the NOD defenders had zero chance of stopping them, literally it took them maybe 6 seconds to reduce its health to zero. Afterwards they suicide charged into the WarFactory and killed it too by bouncing around with their briefcases out (engineers do way too much damage to buildings) To sum up, the rest of the game was NOD trying desperately to gain money to counteract the tidal wave of GDI Ruptors and Titans that stomped into the base and proceeded to murder everything that tried to move (and the game folded as most of NOD left)
  5. A Grandma apocalypse comes to those with too many Grandmas Also 2 trillion cookies per second so far and counting (my universe has devolved into cookies)
  6. So... now all the 'discussion' is out of the way, roughly any idea how long it will be until the new patch is out? I don't mean exact dates or even rough dates but rather is it around about the next week stage or a few weeks/month(s), sometime 2015, possibly 2016 or around about the time Half Life 3 comes out.
  7. oh yeah, that game was awesome If you have Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion then a mod team has made a pretty good Armada 3 mod for it that captures the feeling of Star Trek combat like that in the TV shows.
  8. I'll just leave these here...
  9. yep, Klingon for the win. gotta love dat Vo'quv carrier and Birds of Prey although i have a soft spot for my feds Mirror heavy Cruiser too back on topic, this looks awesome and reminds me a bit of Star Trek Bridge Commander where you controlled your Galaxy/Sovereign from the bridge by giving out orders to the crew, although you never got out of the chair in that game.
  10. To be honest here i like the idea of the Enforcer as a bridge between the TD X-O power suit and TW Zone trooper (even though technically the Wolverine mk1 was the bridge) and it gives GDI that mid to late game anti armor infantry based firepower it really needed to keep up with NOD. Let's face it, if NOD loses their WF but still has the HON and REF, they can keep fighting and hold GDI off effectively for a while (and on some maps even turn the battle around) whereas at the moment when GDI loses it's WF its pretty much 'GG... /votenextmap' as NOD rolls over them or pounds them into dust with arty as the disc thrower just can't hold the line as well as NODs rocket trooper or Confessor who have an easier time aiming at distant targets and stopping rushes. that's just my 2 cents anyway.
  11. Reborn for the win! Apoc Rising was awesome too but with Reborn, especially the Juggernaut and engie briefcase news I was all like:
  12. That's an awesome tank On the texturing front, I found that looking at either A) Real life examples of what you are texturing or B) Artwork of things similar to what you are texturing is very very helpful so here's a real life stealth tank - Poland's PL-01 http://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/is-polands-stealthy-pl-01-the-tank-of-the-future-1554395391 Although I'd keep it stealth black, cos that colour on your tank looks epic
  13. I vote Juggies because well... there Juggernauts nuff said. And having them ingame will balance out NODs arty and possibly allow that back onto TS_field (because GDI will finally have a counter) There's no option for it but I'd also vote for making harvesting more interesting... not necessarily changing the mechanics but maybe add some eye candy to look at while your sitting on the Tib field such as animating that digger blade to move up and down (or maybe just have it drop slightly so it looks like it's digging into the ground) and make the harvesting screw rotate (with green fog coming out to represent crushed Tiberium), also it's headlights are turned off. But juggernaut first, NOD needs to be taught a lesson on how to properly perform artillery barrages
  14. These are awesome There so good I had to make an account to express just how awesome they are!
