Question Your thoughts about the Game Nights
DeviousDave replied to moonsense715's topic in W3D Hub Discussion
There was talk awhile back about setting up a downloads section on here too. I remember volunteering the textures I had made/modified for TSR back when they were asking people for stuff to populate the list when it went live. -
Question Your thoughts about the Game Nights

I doubt he would mind, just credit him somewhere on the texture itself... or ask for his permission beforehand... or add in the modified version as an alternate texture that people have to activate on their own... or give me a few weeks (whenever I get around top it/find the time) after it get's added and I'll probably end up modifying it to fit in with my games texture pack (Paint.net 4 the win) (speaking of which, whatever happened to the whole downloads section where people could place their modified textures etc?) also kinda appropriate seen as the BF(not3)EA Beta just came out -
Question Your thoughts about the Game Nights
DeviousDave replied to moonsense715's topic in W3D Hub Discussion
The way I would do it, in regards to the MK1 mammoth being purchasable by GDI and Nod, is to instead call it the Mammoth MK1-2 and have it as a later mass production model that is inferior to the original prototype vehicles (the one currently ingame that the Mutants use/guard) as it lacks the self repair system and some of the armor reinforcing (less health) You could say that this was as an attempt by GDI treasury to reduce the vehicles cost, Although on the upside it moves a bit faster due to its reduced weight. That way you still have a reason to fight over the Mutant controlled Mammoth as it's the superior version. (edited to not be a big'ole blob o text) -
Question Your thoughts about the Game Nights
DeviousDave replied to moonsense715's topic in W3D Hub Discussion
Alas missed the game night as RLF demanded that I help him defeat Leviathan Extreme on FF14 (and what a battle joke disaster that was) I voted to have it earlier as 9pm BST is when my RLF come online and demand my blood time. Hope it went well for all who attended though -
Looks good. The more I see of this the more I think you should try and actually make it, I recon you would probably make a small fortune from it.

I'll try and be on... even though i'll be rusty as hell (been months since I last played) ps. Love the Juggernaut changes

In Iron Mans defense (IIRC) he only wanted the SHRA due to the whole issue of their being millions of people with Super Powers (with a capital S&P) and thousands of new groups and people turning up calling themselves Super Heroes which was a ticking time bomb waiting to go off. He was concerned that sooner or later one of these new groups (probably the Young Avengers or Runaways) or an individual Super Hero would screw up resulting in the cost of hundreds of lives. He then predicted that the Government(s) would look to make an example of someone/everyone in the Super Hero community by passing EVEN WORSE legislation against Super Heroes that was more restrictive than the SHRA and could end up with out and out rebellion by Mutants and Super Heroes. He also turned out to be correct when when a battle between a group calling themselves the New Warriors and a group of Super Villains ends with a massive explosion which kills hundreds of Civilians, including children attending a nearby school. The resulting public outcry is what pushes the SHRA through congress, resulting in, to quot wiki: "Those with naturally occurring superhuman abilities, super abilities acquired through science or magic (including extraterrestrials and gods), and even non-super powered humans using exotic technology, such as Iron Man, to register as "living weapons of mass destruction." Enactment of the law on the federal level led to various revisions to state criminal codes (such as Chapter 40, Article 120, Section 120 of the New York Penal Code and Section 245(d) of the California Penal Code) in order to allow state and federal coordination in enforcing the law" So basically, he saw which way the wind was blowing and decided to try to mitigate the damage when the inevitable happened. I believe that the W3d engine doesn't support that, IIRC it has something to do with recoil and maximum number of primary and secondary weapons per vehicle that can be animated. That's why they did it the way they did. You can somewhat simulate this however by tapping the left mouse button followed by the right mouse button then finally the left mouse once again (left gun fires then the right gun fires then on left click 2 the middle gun fires - although it does spaz out sometimes and re-fires the left most gun)
