Really depends on what players want to play. If people want to play Jeod's CYOR III next then let it happen. I was thinking on few concepts that can be hosted as next, some will take longer to setup, some (like the APB mafia/chat) can be hosted immediately. @everyone here, let me know if I should post an interest thread or if you wanna play Jeod's game (I dunno when if I'm going to be available after that game though, but I know that next January, February I'll be probably super busy). -
Pretty amazing that for such a short movie you've got all sorts of action & funny moments packed in there. So how many concussions you've got during the "shooting"? One thing which I've noticed: Your first appearance was different from the other one (voice/acting).

The closing of the October is here and there used to be a tradition on BHP to play a forum game with a little scarier theme as well. Most of us older mafia gamers here remember the series of Death Space Mafia & RPG, which started exactly 6 years ago during this time of the year! I'm posting the links here so that players who want to review these games can do so, but also for the sake of good old nostalgia since many of us still remember. The old BHP forums, where these were hosted are gone and it would be a shame to lose it. Whenever somebody mentions "Marker", "Necromorphs" or "She told me to say..." (a gimmick iLTS got in one of the games which basically marked his insanity in both game and IRL :V) and doesn't know the origin, link them to this thread. I'm posting the doc links as well as character and player information and videos that I made to resemble the games' events from actual game/movies (spoiler warning) from the first 3 Mafia RPG games. There's a lot of it and even though you can't read everything in the game threads, these games had a lot of doc and video content you can still check. Each game was a bit more complex than the previous one, introducing new set of game mechanics, such as spacing and investigating, location/movement, new character mechanics in mafia RPG game such as player HP/alive status and being able to return to game as "Necromorphs", weapons and items with adjustable parts, later crafting as well. In DS4 RPG, I've also introduced more RPG elements such as new map elements, exploration, puzzles and even turn based PvP & PvE battles. DS4 also took a few months to play and there's tons of content so therefore I only post the first three games for now. You should also consider availability as factor for choosing a setup. I enjoy non standard games myself but themed games with more complex roles/mechanics take a lot of effort and time to host. I would love to host something like Death Note or Dead Space but it really requires a lot of time and dedication.- 128 replies

You shouldn't think that reviewing the game will automatically mean that you'll get -1 players. If a senior GM says that your game looks good and will be fun it will make more players to join it in the end. Anyway always balance the games around number 10 (+-2 players). I don't think we can 100% guarantee that we'll have more players available during Dec. @TheIrishmanyou can put a signup thread next week, see how many players will join and what they request. I'm gonna host a chat version most likely before moving back to forum version.- 128 replies

You can either choose mafia roles before players request them and then simply align them with flavor. You can thus create a few setups before hand. Or you can decide which roles will be in game before hand too or make some sort of rules how the roles will be made, what is allowed to request, etc.- 128 replies

Yea CYORS are tricky, but you must have at least an idea of a setup, or rules how the roles will be made. You can see that after last CYOR there were made adjustments how role requests are handled, similar to custom roles in my APB game too. Another wild CYOR is something I don't really want to see happening. I'll give @OrangeP473 days to respond and we'll see next week who's gonna host what.- 128 replies

Guys after the latest discussion with moderators we have come up with some basic guidelines for moderators and players. Please review it in the OP: There might be later adjustments to improve the system, maybe a whole class rework. But please read it first before registering/playing games. Remember we put these new GM player policies here in hope to help both GMs and players so that everyone's happy: New GMs will have a guaranteed help and with a vouch of senior GM they can get more players while players are ensured that the game is "safe" to play. @TheIrishmanI have registered your game, but you should wait until mine and Orange's game are over. @OrangeP47 btw if you want to start your game you can go ahead since it's already mid Oct, but let me know if the setup was reviewed by someone first. If you want to uphold your game please let us know so we can arrange. Depending on Orange I will decide if I re-host the APB Mafia as Forum game or Chat game so that Irish can host his game. But same goes to you @TheIrishman, your setup must be viewed by one of the senior GMs first.- 128 replies

Back in the day we thought of replacing the players with bots (aka the player would be killed and replaced by a bot), same mechanic for the cloning (assigning a bot to your character when you purchased it). Not sure if it could be done in the engine now but the bots we have now seem a lot better. -
Its a pretty shocking experience being in a metal tank getting fried and waiting to go boom. Trauma for life.

1. this is also CYOR, some players requested a role. 2. doesn't have to do with anything, in your thinking, it was good for your game, but it's bad if it happens to you. 3. I couldn't tell mojoman that he had a delayed malfunction effect on you because that wasn't his primary function (also it would give away more than was intentional) 4. can't really discuss this, but it was all random (posts above) 5. can't really discuss this in public

Everyone who is a building or vehicle has received a message from me with a dice roll result from random.org. If you got 1-2 on dice you have turned into random infantry, if you hit 3-4 you were role-blocked, if 5-6 nothing happened. If you haven't got a PM or have questions, let me know asap.

Lynch 1 Result [Lynch Result - Success] Players have decided that Mojoman is going to be lynched today! Mojoman, the Soviet Tesla Tank, will not fight for Stalin anymore! Short after you were about to lynch Mojoman, the announced detonation arrived! The seismic explosion, originated from a Mad Tank which was malfunctioned by the Mojoman's Tesla Tank, had damaged all buildings and vehicles in base! Jeod, the Soviet Mad Tank, will not be forgotten! Every building and vehicle in game has a 33% chance to turn into random infantry, 33% chance of being role-blocked and 33% chance to survive the explosion. Please await a PM before proceeding with night action! NIGHT 1 After the lynch, the night falls soon. The Outpost staff is getting ready to sleep and Allies are planning a night kill right now. If you have any Plan Actions you want to perform during the Night, please send them now via PM before next Day starts! Night Guidelines During the Night - Plan Phase (24 hour duration), Allies will have to decide to kill a Soviet player. They must also decide who will make the kill. However, certain people in both the Allies and Soviets have special roles they can use during the night to kill, protect, disrupt, or gather information. Some roles carry a certain risk while others give a little more freedom. When the new Battle Phase begins, everyone will see who has died during the night and find out what side they were on and what role they had. Plan/Night actions are done classic way by the Private Message, same as resolved action replies. If you have a night action and do not inform me by PM in advance before the next Battle phase begins (preferably asap, but not later than one hour before the game starts), otherwise you do nothing that night. Forum Posting during the Night/Plan Phase is limited - 2 posts per player max. Players who won't comply will either receive a gimmick or a force vote on themselves. Additional Rules: No quoting mod communication or other out of thread communication. No out of thread communication unless specifically allowed by the mod. No content-posts after death unless allowed by the mod. Whitenoise that doesn't affect the game is fine. Use your best judgement, but remember that anything you say can be taken by the players to mean something it doesn't. If in doubt, say nothing. The same goes if you aren't playing, and double if you aren't playing and have been spoilered. Don't try to break the game. No sillyness like telling everyone to make a roleclaim post and encrypt it, then reveal their encryption keys/methods all at once for example. No saying "my role PM has X characters in it" And if you come up with it, and you're a little too proud of coming up with it as a way to get around the spirit of the game, don't post it. Mods, do your best to prevent this crap in the first place if you can. Don't give everyone with the same role and/or win condition the exact same wording for example. "Outside influences" such as bribing, threats, promises, whatever falls under the above. Don't do it. Don't be an ass. This includes "bussing" fellow scum/cultist teammates. By bussing we mean revealing fellow scumteam members as scum to spite them or gain townie points. No backseat modding. Unless the game's GM/Mod asks for forum moderator assistance, let them handle it. Especially if they have forum moderator privileges themselves. This is more of a respect/courtesy thing than a rule. Pointing out that the hammer has fallen and noone should be talking until the moderator handles it is fine; deleting posts put up after the hammer isn't. If you signed up for a Mafia Game, you're expected to participate actively. It's up to a GM to setup a minimal post quota for each player so that the game won't get hampered by inactive players. If you know you won't be able to play for more than one day, it is your responsibility to let the GM know in advance. Please don't try to be an Internet detective to find out who was online where and when. Not only is it not a good way of hunting down players, it's also a bit creepy and unfair for the person. Don't base most of your case on someone around "his last online time was X thus he was online at hammer but didn't post/vote" for example.
