  1. Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen to the Wonderful, Glorious World of Threve's texturing. I invite you to step inside. For anyone new, I love texturing random stuff in the game and sharing it with others to enjoy. I'm making this thread to showcase all my work (Or anyone else's) from here on out till the download's section is back up. Requests welcome A quick disclaimer if not obvious. I'm not a professional by any means and these textures or edits are not meant to be taken seriously, just simply mix the game up a bit and have a nice luagh or two. (Mods,) If anything below is found to be cheating or an advantage please remove it at will. Lets begin the adventure. I have a nifty little reskin for the Volkov here in light of Halloween being modeled after the one and only Jack Skellington. This is Halloween. Next up is a personal favorite... Also added for download is a new texture for most of the smoke textures in-game And finally a relic from the past that I've been able to implement back in-game. The A.P.B. "Beta" style H.U.D. This HUD will work exactly like it should and is compatible with the current version of the game. However it's mostly for novelty as some new style symbols are taken away and there are some things that are not "flush" in place like ammo count. But I find it easier to read for myself and can handle a few non-critical missteps here and there. (I can not take any credit for this. It's from the badass people here) Download if you like and have fun!! I'll hopefully cook up some more crazy stuff for later. Till then, Happy Halloween all! 2. I kind of want to see another Beta/CF/NW throwback event just to see how all the newer players will cope with a lot of the BS things from back then. Not just the superbuff flares, but

  3. Throwback Thursday! Today we look back at the Brothers In Arms mission, featuring none other than the infamous Molotov brothers! Borrowing a page from our friends at CNCNZ, today we are doing Throwback Thursday! Today we look back at the Brothers In Arms mission, featuring none other than the infamous Molotov brothers! Suspicious of their loyalty to the Soviet Union, you were tasked with spying on the brothers. Discovering them to be traitors, the mission then was to deal with them as all traitors are dealt with. Handling the Molotov brothers would prove troublesome, as the brothers themselves were armed with powerful weapons. To make matters worse, the Molotov brothers would receive aid from the Allied forces. Nonetheless, the Soviet commander and his forces would persecute the brothers for their traitorous actions and eliminate all traces of their base. Do not make enemies of the USSR, comrades. That's it for this Throwback Thursday! Friendly reminder that this October 31st marks the 20th anniversary of Red Alert!

  6. Good times. Even better times when you were able to insta-plant flares... 1. find a slope where you can only slip off of it 2. plant the flare 3. defend your shit while you can 4. watch as the enemy struggles to disarm the flare because lag 5. ?????? 6. PROFIT!

  7. For real though. It was not uncommon to see 15+ Kills with no deaths due to this. Added to the fact if the soviets got wind of your phase you could go drive back and 1 hit, no bullet drop snipe them. What good times.. Jesus. The WoodsToday.Mix was basically seeing which exploits and cheap things you could do to annhilate the soviets (Phase Snipers, Med Mech's, Long-Range M60 everything)

  8. This is absolutely amazing, Threve! That Jack Skellington reskin is just what I needed to get into the Halloween mood!

  9. Totally doable, has been for years, is fully intended. In pre-Gamma it was considered really OP because you could do it with phase-snipers, who were completely hidden on radar in those days (phases also could crush infantry while moving at only 1mph which is not possible now), on the map The Woods Today, which had absolutely no base defenses. Sure, golden wrenches were an insta-disarm back then, but you better hope you don't have any lag or screenshake or anything because back then it was a 1 ammo weapon with no area of effect - you had to have your reticle trained directly on the flare's tiny hitbox or your whole wrench would fail. Back in those days seeing 3 phase-snipers deploy flares in opposite corners of the Soviet base was GG. Oh and back then flares took 45 seconds to impact (now 60). Basically it's all been nerfed now due to roof flares. Multiple flares in opposite corners of the base aren't going to be that absurd unless they're also multiple roof flares, in which case I'd say good job to the team for actually getting that many people on roofs at once, even if some of them are spies.
