  1. So, I had the goal of making a compilation out of each gaming session, and managed to squeeze out three of these. There's not much to part 2, but you should get a kick out of part 3. I will be taking some break from APB, and hopefully during some weekend plays I will get to make lengthier and much better compilations.
  2. I will be doing compilations of funny events during APB gameplay and uploading them on YouTube. To the playlist
  3. ...but there's one the Soviets fear...
  4. While I got into C&C much later than most of you did, some musical pieces in the series still hold some nostalgia for me. I particularly remember Blow it Up back from the days of playing RA2. The song often played in those missions involving naval warfare. Also, Fogger reminds me of summer in 2013, when I started APB.
  5. Before the Delta update, the sniper rifle had a point and click function. In Delta, it was changed so the sniper rifle fires projectiles that drop over distance. This change was most likely made to discourage excess usage of the class, and make the sniper a more challenging class to use. I'm in favour of the changes that were made, but I've started to question the sniper's overall usefulness at contributing in battle, other than being an annoying "killwhoring" unit. First of all, snipers are really easy to counter, as most maps have lots of obstacles to hide behind. The class itself has poor survivability, a solely anti-infantry weapon with slow fire rate and projectile travel time and drop, which is barely useful on infantry only maps due to their small, narrow spaces. Say, if you needed to kill some enemy infantry, why not just get up close and personal with any other offensive infantry class, rather than trying to awkwardly hit them with a sluggish sniper rifle? Secondly, the sniper is useless most of the time, because enemy players will be driving vehicles (unless they lost their War Factory) or hanging around inside buildings. Due to engine limitations, snipers can't shoot through truck windshields or hit people seated in Rangers. So, the point here is, should something be done to make the sniper a more useful class, or should it stay as it is now?
  6. I persuaded my friend to download the W3D Launcher to play APB with me. Unfortunately we ran into a problem. When the game is being installed, it fails to install the file "always.zip". Why is it doing that? I think his OS is Windows 10.
  7. What kind of soldier are you, what vehicles do you like to drive, or what are your most used units in APB overall? Vote and discuss why! If you're unsure about your preferred units, you can check your ranks page for what units you've purchased the most. Personal Preference Allied Infantry - Captain Versatile, lethal against infantry and small buildings, and not completely defenceless against vehicles Soviet Infantry - Shock Trooper Effective against anything Allied Vehicle - Medium Tank Well armored and armed, the Medium Tank gets the job done Soviet Vehicle - V2 Launcher It's a nuclear missile on wheels. What else could you want? Aerial - Longbow Always wins against the Hind, and is faster Naval - Don't know, I rarely use boats
  8. I was pondering at some point, if the APB models and maps could be accessed in Gmod, so I could make Red Alert style "Vicious Cycle of [map name]" videos.
  9. Oh, I see. I wasn't looking forward to Camos Canyon Bots for easy kills, just for the fun of fighting along bots in multiplayer. Maybe make it so bot kills won't count towards score from now on?
  10. There are some players who sometimes play the game when nobody else is online, and keep destroying the enemy base to get lots of free points and recommendations. I call this exploiting, because it is not properly playing the game if you can just destroy the entire enemy base without being obstructed by any enemy players. It's not that big of a problem, but players can exploit the ranking system with it. What are your views on these players, and should something be done with them?
  11. Bet nobody knows where it's from.
  12. The first and one of the few RTS I ever played was Bitmap Brothers' Z. The Command & Conquer series was relatively obscure to me for a long time, until it was 2009, when I became more involved with PC gaming, I found my brother's old copy of RA2 and tried it out, quickly becoming addicted to it. I usually played the skirmish mode, and it was fun although I couldn't play online, as it was no longer supported. I used to look for Red Alert related videos on YouTube, and remember seeing development footage of AR there. During Summer in 2013, I was bored and decided to find out if you could still somehow play RA2 online. While searching for C&C related stuff online, I came across the A Path Beyond project on ModDb or something, and downloaded the BHP launcher. I began playing the games more avidly in 2014-2015 (as part of escapism caused by some life issues), and developed a passion for a simple game with a small community, losing interest in mainstream games.
  13. I'd love to see a new map based on urban warfare. Something like a part of a city with rows of multi-story buildings that some of can be garrisoned, and possibly streets, railways, and special tech buildings for engineers to capture. There is a similar map in TSR I think.
