    Some weird Alien that's not too happy he's in Command and Conquer Renegade at the moment. Replaces the $200 Flamer.

    A Chemical Clone Trooper. Replaces the $300 Chem Trooper. Modded a little for IA by upscaling to 2056x2056, adding a PT Icon and making him green.

    Orca AT: Great unit that is the mainstay of GDI AT Forces.

    Kawasucki: Can't detect anything. The "Detection" feature is more so a thing where if it works it's an added bonus. The missiles on this unit fire faster however and it can carry 2 people. Also it accelerates very fast.

    Orca Scout ($800): Mainly a sucide transport with the added bonus of being pretty good against things that are not AA. Might I mention that the Vulcan machine gun also has MASSIVE range.

    Chinook: Primary reason for this unit is Anti Infantry and a Transport. Serves it's purpose very well.

    Bomber: A Hidden GDI trick to get a last second win. Requires GDI to actually save up $ to use effectively. Can be countered by a SA-88 Geko.

    Overall GDI Air: Great units that provide great firepower. However, they do so in a balanced way that requires skill to bring out the most.

    Apache Scout: Same as GDI.
    Apache AT: Same as GDI.

    Hind-24: This is the only unit that i'm iffy about. It can carry 6/7 people. The range is MASSIVE. The damage is pretty good. The right click is a nice bonus. If this had to be changed i'd reduce the range slightly. Buff the right click missiles and a slightly longer reload. But I don't think it needs changes.

    Commanche AT: This unit is extremely powerful in the right hands. But it requires a lot of cordination, visual recon and being able to read situations in the game. To get the most you have to really apply yourself. But you'll be well rewarded. Be aware the cost makes this unit it super pricy if you fuck up multiple times. A Tank Ace is a must. Can be killed using a ramjet, base defences or Chapperal. If you're using a Kawasaki with an MSA to find this unit you're doing it wrong. Get a ORCA Scout and Ramjet/AA Stinger and wait to be attacked. Or just get a ramjet and wait in field.

    Commance Normal: Used only to 2 Hit K/O a full HP 36 Inch mammoth tank.

    Banshee: This unit should be $2,000 how it is now. It constantly tetters more than any unit on being too powerfull or nerfed to shit.

    Overall Nod Air: Really good and balanced when compared to GDI. The Banshee needs to be slightly changed. The AT Commanche requires a vet to use effectively in a normal game and the Hind is controversal but bear in mind that GDI has the SPAAG - 87 Anti everything gun.. so I think things balance out.

    it might be possible through an exterior program that specifically binds keys/codes for you to do but I don’t know any off the top of my head. 
     

    I’d recommend just using Cntrl C to copy whatever you want and Cntrl V for copy/paste.For example when fighting a battle the last thing I want to do is get stuck so I have !Stuck copy/pasted to use in a millisecond. You can also Copy/Paste !char so mid battle you can jump and switch character if you’re about to die and you’re in a critical moment. Your choice.

    In Interim Apex, you gain Vet points for doing things. After gaining a certain amount you can use special abilities as said in-game. Btw, P.S.A. to all players. You don't have to type out commands in full to excute them. In a hurry? You can type
    !wep = Faster than typing !weapon
    !sup = Faster than typing !support
    !char = Faster than typing !character. 
    !Pweap = Faster than typing !powerweapon
    !veh = Faster than typing !vehicle.
    !am = Faster than typing !ammo
    Press "o" to drop your current weapon.
    Press "p" to drop all weapons. Vehicles in Interim Apex have weakspots. Aim for the rear to do more damage typically. Aim for sights/engine to also do more damage. Hitting the sides of the tank does slightly more damage as well.

    Press "T" to build stuff when you're a sapper or Engineer.
    Press "End" Key to Check how many mines you have.
    Press "-" key (Next to the 0 key) to request more vehicles that you're in for a rush.
    Press F10 to say "Attack" whatever you shot at last.
    Other F1-F9 Keys also give off various commands like "Mine this structure" or This building needs repair.

    There's a 25% chance for 
    -Armor
    -Weapons
    -DNA
    - HP

    Making it so there's a 100% chance for DNA would just mean to clear mines two people could just get a Mutant Raveshaw and go hard in the GDI Base. Or 1 person could use !killme, and !ammo to refill a Flash M202 and 1 Hit K/O a building in 10 seconds. So i'm voting no as it would invite a lot of problems. Also, weapons spawn on the maps frequently with typing in "!wep" being an option to get weapons as well.

    I believe @ Kaskins  has been a bit busy so i'll answer this for him and invite him to please correct me on anything I say.

    Kaskins did not want me or other mods to add bots. From what he told me he did not want me to do bots because

    - Kaskins is an Admin and has acess to a lot more commands than Mods do. This means he can add vehicles and units at will.
    - Kaskins is able to add units that haven't been released yet. He wants to test said units with bots.
    - While Mods can add bots, after about like 70 Bots they start to glitch and there's nothing Mods can do about it. The bots turn invincible which leads to a ruined game.
    - The server can crash as a result of above. Which Yap has brought up to me that he's annoyed with.

  9. This topic is being created for other moderator input and threading. Adrian9112 was perma banned due to purposeful team imbalancing multiple times. I got a msg from Adrian9112 to appeal for an unban via PM. I don't think I was clear in my ban msg that it needed to be a topic hence why i'm creating this.

    Hello @ Adrian9112 . You were banned due to team imbalancing multiple times and this just being the final straw. You'll purposefully leave before someone joins so that they will join a different team due to how the team balance is automatically calculated on Renegade. We (Kickmofo and Voe) have told you multiple times to stop. Even getting to the point of banning you for a Month. Although I've also told you to stop in-game your response has been "Alarm" and "Whatthe".  So, you've been banned as a result of continuing to do this. You have even somehow managed to have been kicked by Yap?? Interestingly enough you also have used multiple I.P.'s to attempt to connect here.

    You have a chance here to explain why you keep doing this and not listening to us.

    You can also see and engineer trying to disarm it but his pathing was messed  up, staring at the wall, if it was inside the AI engineer would've gone there.

    Quick Edit: He survived the blast and there was a Guard Tower in the back so he didn't escape through there.

     

     

  11. Clearer Black Box Chat


    Install by putting the files into your ttfs folder.

    This is a replacment for the Black Box that displays the chat. The black box by default is a little too dark which may make you miss out on certain background details. This should fix that.

    There was no cooler sound in 2008 for me than pressing that "Join Server" button and hearing the Rocket fire as I enter the server.

    I am confused due to your topic title. Is your question wether we can port our games to 

    1. A Virtual Reality  type layout. Where you use your hands and legs to move around but it's still in W3D (2002) format?

    2. Port the game to something like Unreal Engine / a modern day engine?

    For 1. It's definately possible. Although expensive I believe it's entierly possible to get a full on VR set up. It costs about $8,000 + Tax and I think it only works with VR video games? I haven't looked into it but you could more than likily map the controls to the system along with the head movements. It would require a lot of work but again, possible assuming you're allowed to use video games already made today or you have enough grit to see it through.

    2. RenegadeX is probably your best bet for a w3d. game turned into a modern day game engine. If your question is adressing the possibility of if it's possible or not this is proof. Although admitedly RenX is on the UT 3 Engine (2006-2013?). 

    I attempted to make IA into Unreal Engine 2 years ago but didn't get anywhere when messing with vehicles. I'm too busy now and days sadly to try again. But I hope it's proof to show that it is possible. 


    As for W3Dhub. As Einstein said, it would require a lot of resources and a whole new talent base (That's specialized in Unreal Engines quirks) to even be a possibility. We're currently giving our time to multiple FPS projects like Dune, Red Alert 2, Tiberian Sun and even some in between. To try and create a new age C&C FPS off of Unreal Engine is just too much for us @ W3D Hub right now.

    Unless of coruse you know 20-30 people that would love to give their knowledge and time to work on it for free. :p We're always looking!

    How do I install?

    IMPORTANT PLEASE READ: (INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS)

    Installing is simple if you follow these instructions. There are 2 folders.. one marked ttfs and one marked data.

    You're going to take the files from the TTFS folder and drop them into your IA TTFS folder. 

    Navigation there is as follows. 

    ThisPC > LocalDisk C: > Program Files (x86) > W3DHub > Games > ia release > IAFiles > InterimApex > ttfs > files

     

    You're going to take the files from the DATA  folder and drop them into your IA DATA folder. 

    Navigation there is as follows. 

    ThisPC > LocalDisk C: > Program Files (x86) > W3DHub > Games > ia release >Data

    When Interim Apex is updated. You will have to redownload this and install it again. This is due to the update replacing all the files over again. I apologize for the inconvenience.

     

    Important Q/A

    Will this impact my preformance?

    In short I don't know. It shouldn't.

    I am running a Helios Predator 300 with 144 FPS. The game takes about 1 second longer to load for me and that's about the only problem I've had. What you're downloading is essentially IA 4 times since the textures are 4 times the detail. The game from my understanding, loads up the textures and then you're good to go.

    IF YOU HAVE A COMPUTER THAT IS LOW SPEC/ A POTATO, I DO NOT RECCOMEND DOWNLOADING THIS. If you're running below 30 FPS constantly, do not download.

    This mod is meant for people seeking the best, most detailed experince possible in IA and have the computer to do so.



    What is this?

    This is a complete remaster of Interim Apex to celebrate the 20th year mark of C&C Renegade. It's a complete package to push the W3D Textures and some models to their full potential by remastering, retouching, adding decals and details that were left out due to the age of the game or other reasons. The aim here is make IA as detailed as possible with what was given.

    All 3,000+ Texture files (The paint basically of everything) has been put through a program that Artificially Remasters them by x4 the detail. So files that are 256x256 become 1024x1024 and so on. 

     

    How is this different from other Renegade Remasters?

    Besides having future support and updates from me and W3DHub.. this remaster achieves it's goals through different various ways.

    1. This remaster is aimmed specfically at IA. The files for IA are split up into two folders in order for the game to work. There's the "Data Folder" which holds all of the stuff from Renegade itself. Then there's the "TTFS Folder" which is basically all the files that IA has added. While many have touched up the Renegade Game, none have touched up the TTFS Folder as it's specfic to IA. In short, this remasters the IA custom files as well as the Renegade files like the Flame Tank/Patch etc..

    2. Some remasters just completely change the color of the units. This keeps all the units the same including the IA units without changing any colors or doing anything crazy. Any changes are made specfically in the spirit to retain as much of an OEM/Stock look as possible.

    3. As seen closely in the Screenshots, the weapons have been modded so that they're the correct geometry on the 3rd person. Special shoutout to @ MoltenJam  for providing the Models.

    4. Some Units have been touched up to add some character. This includes the Light Tank, Harvesters and Helipads. There have also been lots of retexturing, bump maping, and burn/dirt marking done to some sections of the walls. Patch was given true NVG's with a green tint and all the weapons (Including the upgrades) have been redone. Watch out for some easter eggs!

     

    Some units have been modded such as the Light Tank. Why didn't you retexture every vehicle?

    About 95% of the vehicles in IA are using reshared textures. What this means is that the Tunguska, ISU-122, and Peony all use the same texture. It's just wrapped around different. Retexturing said file specfically would look good on one vehicle but a jumbled mess on all 30 others.

    Some vehicles, (Such as the Hind) use one unique texture. As a result, they're able to be modded.

     

    Why is this 2.6 GB?

    Again, you're downloading IA 4 times essentially. Every file has been made to have x4 the detail. While a crazy number in Renegade standards, it should be considered that most modern games are well above 10 GB. This mod is meant for people that have the capacity to run IA at such a level.


    Any issues?

    So far all issues have been patched. There was an issue with the FWF and a tree texture missing along with lines displaying weird on buildings. But it was fixed thanks to MoltenJam.

     

    Is this really every file from IA?

    In short yes.

    Long answer is mostly. The A.I. Retexture program wouldn't run the 64x64 files for some reason and it just crashed every single time I tried. There were also a MASSIVE amount of bloat files in the TTFS Folder. 4 MB files of like 50 different colored APCs that I deleted so that the overall file size would be lower. Basically this is about 95% of the files in IA with the missing 5% of files never being used or will be used in game.

    About 3 files were required to be done x2 the detail because after 4096x4096 the game is unable to properly render the texture. There's tons of black dots on the texture and it looks weird.

    This redoes the menu, the building textures. Everything.
