  1. INTRODUCTIONHello, and welcome to the first forum Mafia game based on Tiberian Sun: Reborn! This game is essentially a "mod" of Verti60's classic APB mafias. Hmm... a mod of a forum game based on a mod based on a game, which in turn is also based on a different mod of a different game in the same franchise? WHEN WILL THE MADNESS END?! With a winter break in Dead Legion filming on the horizon, I'll have time to run this without the assistance of a co-mod. So for those who've played those games before, you probably know the drill. For those new, however, let me go over the details of what you can expect. THE GAMEThis is a forum-based game of "Mafia," in which the majority of players (Town), must decide who among them is part of a hostile faction (Scum), and eliminate them via lynch before scum can whittle down Town numbers via nightkill. This is primarily a socio-analysis game, and success relies upon coordination, communication, and reading your opponent. The game is divided into two phases; day and night. Most of the game takes place during the 48-hour day phases, which are divided up by 24-hour night phases, during which many players have abilities that can help them and their faction achieve victory. In this case, the game will revolve around an outpost set up by the Global Defense Initiative, which has been infiltrated by the Brotherhood of Nod. There will not be any Neutral or Third Party in this game, as this is largely a "back-to-basics" game, as a refresher for everyone who feels like CYOR has been a tad overplayed, and for me who doesn't feel comfortable going crazy with a game setup, considering I wasn't too happy with my previous outings. Here is the preliminary rolesheet that I've created. Keep in mind that this is a guideline, not a hard-and-fast rule. Not all of these will appear in the game, and there may be some secret roles not included in the sheet that might appear. Also, for balance purposes, everything is open to adjustment. One thing that I should mention: /!\ EARLY HAMMER WILL BE A FEATURE IN THIS GAME! /!\ This means that if 51% of the votes are placed on a single target, the day will end automatically with that person being lynched, and the game will move into the night phase. Keep this in mind... Sign-ups will close Friday, December 11th. The game will begin on Monday, December 14th. SIGN-UPS-13 (8 min) @Jeod @ChopBam @iLikeToSnipe @FRAYDO @Category 5 Hurricane @Voe @OrangeP47 @Retaliation @Mojoman @Shade939 @TheIrishman @Anon_Kat @Louis BOOKMARKSDAY 1 NIGHT 1 DAY 2 NIGHT 2 DAY 3 GAME END
  2. Fair enough. I'll put the thread up either this weekend or Monday.
  3. As a quick update, I might have accidentally finished the role sheet just now, so it's ready to go whenever. But as I said, if you want to go first, feel free.
  4. Feel free to do so. I was gonna try to have a TSR mafia thread posted by Monday, but if you want to go first, lemme know. It'd give me a little bit more time to have @NodliedCzech the roles for balancing purposes (unless he wants to play, of course) and give me a better idea of what my schedule going forward will look like, so that I know whether or not to have a co-mod.
  5. I've given it some thought, and it's interesting to see how much of a polar opposite role I had compared to my last Neutral role. Previously, I had a role that was designed from the ground up to just be a chaotic element that screwed with everyone for the fun of it. My intention was to shitpost and have fun the whole game, with the ability to bite Town or Scum in the ass if conditions were met. I ended up playing a major role in that game and did a lot to influence what happened. This game, I had a role that was designed from the ground up to be a useful element for either side and introduce a cool side objective. My intention was to be a friendly, guiding voice that could be a boon to Town or Scum if certain conditions were met. I ended up just fighting for my life and not much else. Makes too much sense to me that the troll role was the more successful one, is all I'm saying.
  6. In fairness, I shared the situation with everyone and let them weigh in. Had there been enough pushback (i.e., one good point) I wouldn't have done it.
  7. As someone who was cornered and had little choice but to go after someone else to keep myself around.
  8. Done what? Stabbed it? If so, then I probably would have. I was curious as to what your alignment was, and it would've determined how hard I would've pushed on Snipe.
  9. Someone please tell me if that terminology is wrong.
  10. I'm patterning it off of Verti's older APB Mafias, which are semi-open. Basically allowing you to see what roles could be in game, but not which ones are.
  11. Oh, whoops. Musta missed that For now, I've noticed something about people wanting to play a more basic game, and I guess someone's looking to co-mod? I suppose it'd be a good idea to put my money where my mouth is and whip up that TSR game in the next couple of weeks.
  12. There a design doc with the roles? I'm curious to see how well it all worked under the hood.
  13. SIKE!!! ##vote Retaliation I'm glad I got here before hammer. Besides, I like to assist Town when possible, and of course, you outed yourself.
  14. @Category 5 Hurricanedo you plan on using that daykill before day end?
  15. Ah, why the heck not. ##vote Category 5
  16. .................Oooooooooooohhhhhhhhh.
  17. Now I'm confused. Did you not actually target Retal?
  18. Hang on. Is it possible that the game is going not due to something we're missing, but because we're deciding whether to let Retal win as a Crewmate or die as Scum?
  19. Fair point. ##vote Retaliation @Category 5 HurricaneLooks like we're ready to put this all to bed if you're willing to do the honors.
  20. I'm not sure what's going on, but I had no idea anyone else was a crewmate, nor do I have any indication that my win condition is affiliated with them. My theory is that Snipe is a combo master- Ooorrr you could just roleclaim the theory I was typing up, that works too.
  21. Fascinating. ##vote iLikeToSnipe
  22. I can't tell if you're screwing with me or also claiming Crewmate.
  23. Indeed. I'm still a little sad that the dragon balls never really got used, but eh. 'Twas an experiment, and sometimes it just be like that.
