Frankly, with the way 2020 has been going I wouldn't be surprised if cosmic demons (Kirby series), giant fire-breathing turtles (Bowser), or the literal embodiment of evil (Earthbound series, Zelda series, the blue turtle shell from Mario Kart, take your pick) were to make an appearance.
