Due to Florida recently feeling like you’re living on the surface of the sun, my garden became toasted. This weekend, I decided to go ahead and replace everything with plants more friendly to higher heats. I’m not in any way a landscaper, but I don’t think I do a bad job when it comes to it. Let’s get to it! Started by pulling everything out and leveling the ground. Replaced the stone edgers, and also decided to add a raised section in the back. Next, I laid top soil and started planting the bushes I got to the raised section. I hopefully want these to grow to cover some of the brick for now, until I have a chance to replace them (they aren’t very pretty, and have a lot of damage to them I’m general). I’ve always liked marble and stones, but didn’t want to do the entire thing with them. I decided to use an older pot I had, and did something to add a little character to the garden. I think it turned out pretty well. After that, I decided to start adding the bulk of the plants that I’d got. Some I already had in planters, waiting for the chance to put somewhere. There time finally came to shine! Added a few smaller flowers around the open spaces, and decided to call it complete. There’s also a smaller area that I decided to do again also, since the flowers here burned up as well. I wanted to keep flowers here, but they never faired well with all the sun that hits the front of the house. I decided to do something with pots, so that I could move them into the shade if it gets too hot. Last but not least, I put mulch around everything. I decided on a dark mulch, since most of everything is green for the time being until the flowers start to bloom. I plan to do another area next week. Feel free to share any of your gardens and whatnot also!5 likes

Hey everyone! It's been a while since we did one of these (also I hear it's Willy's birthday, so happy birthday man!) so I guess it's about time we updated you guys on the latest progress on the AR front! New Features & Allied Forces @OWA went in game earlier today and recorded a nice walkthrough of the Allied base, along with explaining some exciting new features that the AR team has been working on to improve the gameplay in general. Check it out below! As ever, if you guys have any questions about what was shown in the video, please feel free to post a reply or hit us up on Discord for a chat! Refinery Interior & Power Plant Exterior @moonsense715 has been working really hard on finishing off the final few base building interiors that we have left to design; the Allied Refinery! The major weakpoint for the Allied Refinery is the Furnace Heat Regulator! The minor weakpoint is the Chrono Miner itself. Check out some tasty images below! @moonsense715 has also altered the Allied Power Plant as well. We used to have tight spiral staircases leading down into the basement and the orange glow from RA2 wasn't there either. Now the building is much easier to access and looks the part! Check out the picture below! Allied Reinforcement Bay @moonsense715 has been really hard at work putting the finishing touches onto the Allied Reinforcement Bay. For those of you who aren't aware, the Reinforcement Bay is a building that is unique to Apocalypse Rising that allows players to buy infantry and vehicles at an elevated cost, when the Barracks and War Factory are destroyed (respectively). The Reinforcement Bay cannot be destroyed, therefore it does not count towards a victory via base destruction. Here is a picture of the new design! Weather Control Device @Romanov has completed the exterior model for the Allied Weather Control Device! This structure will allow the Allies to summon a powerful lightning storm to attack the Soviets with! Check out the render below! Random Corner Oh no! It's the Soviets! Recruitment ATTENTION all fans! We are looking for new staff members: LEVEL DESIGNERS! (if you can create terrain like this, or can complete the tutorial, please apply!) 2D/3D Artists for modelling/texturing civilian buildings and small props (Autodesk Maya, 3ds Max, AutoCad, Blender or Photoshop/Gimp) Character Artists (feel like modeling some simple soldiers, or maybe Premier Romanov? ) A person with free time who wants to get into map-making (we will help you) Programmers to enhance the game engine (more info about this here) To apply, just send @moonsense715 or @One Winged Angel a PM (Private Message) via the forums and let us know which position you wish to apply for. Note that you can include working here in your CV when applying for a job. A lot of W3D Hub Staff members got their current real jobs thanks to the experience gained here. No skills? Need a lesson/tutorial on something W3D? Ask! We can provide a lesson or create a written/video tutorial on how to model, texture, etc. You can find our current roster of tutorials here. Bye! Until next time! [thumb]thumb_ar.4.png[/thumb] [blurb]Check out the latest update fom the Apocalypse Rising Team! This time we're focusing on the Allies![/blurb]2 likes

New Features: • Northrop Grumman E-C2 Hawkeye has been added to the game, this vehicle can spot players for the driver and passenger (much like the sensor twinbow). In addition it comes with a new reconnaissance job, simply fly to the points marked on the radar and then land to collect money for your recon flight. In order for the sensor markers to show up the Hawkeye must be in the air. • Added 31 new scores to the high score system, 95% of them are for tracking job earnings and time spent in the jobs, you can now show off just how long you spent grinding at the cash register! • Added a setting to force team the players on join, say good bye to the pointless team selection screen on join. • Added 32 street signs to the industrial area and removed the static street in the nuclear power plant. Tweaks: • UFO Disaster now has 25% more health. • The delay to repair a street sign now starts after it was repaired instead of after it was damaged, this allows the player to repair it once instantly before having to wait to repair it again (better for team working the street sweeper job). • Stripper job now pays 1/4th of what it used to. • Street Sweeper job now pays 4x as much. • The mutants on MA front lines now die after 2.5 minutes of trying to hunt the player, this should resolve the game getting stuck and the player being forced to hunt them down. • The Mech’s health on MA front lines has been corrected, it well not stay invulnerable and suddenly die all at once. • Added a shiny pass to the X7-32 to make it look more futuristic. • M12 Gun Motor Carriage rounds now have way more range (shouldn’t die midair anymore). • M12 Gun Motor Carriage now needs to deploy before it can fire, this takes about 5 seconds. • The new WWII vehicles rounds don’t blow up min air if they run out of range anymore. • Objective Markers and Sensor Bow Marker now shows up through the fog. Bug Fixes: • Fixed a checking system bug that would cause you not to check in if you checked in prior to midnight and then the time rolled over to the next day. • Fixed some vehicle entry markers being rotated to the side. • Fixed a minor weapon selection bug with cops that caused them to have weak weapons when chasing people with a high wanted level. • Fixed some issues with the druggy screen effects that could cause them not to happen at all. • Fixed an issue with visiting Mars and the spawn screen fade, basically if you went to Mars and then respawned the spawn screen wouldn’t fade blue anymore. • Fixed a bug in the Nuclear Strike Disaster that allowed players to collect money in areas where no nukes could hit. • Fixed the DJ light effects board not working, players can now change the lighting in the DJ room once again. • Fixed the weather service control being also triggered by the DJ booth. • Stolen debit cards system no longer will report “0 cards returned” if you press the return card button when you have no cards. • Fixed possible crash with the DM spawn point code. • Fixed a bug that could cause some planes to be able to fly backward, this should also fix the AI flying backward on the main map • Scud Missiles are now type flying, which might help with their network synchronization. • OGEL Cat will not die on creation anymore • Mountain Lions Skin type has been changed to one that doesn’t take falling damage, it shouldn’t kill itself by jumping off cliffs anymore. • Leaving the Night Club will not cause the screen to fade blue for a second anymore. • Wheels on the Mobile Flak Truck now turn as it drives. • The attack of the Quadrupedal Abomination is not called “Antlers” anymore. • Canada Buggy now is created in its spawn zone. [blurb]This patch adds a new aircraft, job, records, and tons of bug fixes and tweaks![/blurb]2 likes

So about map sectors, how is this? I tried to keep it as non-intrusive as possible. It is a set of GIMP layers suited for 2048x2048, so whatever I do here is fully re-usable so you do not have to spend time setting this up again. Question is, will call-outs like "Enemies spotted in sector F7!" be a thing, and will they be useful? Maybe they would be useful if such a call-out also HIGHLIGHTED that sector on the map (when a map is implemented)? Edit: This is entirely assuming the MAP is full-screen. For abilities like the Chrono Tank shifting you want the map centered on your position to fit in a smaller window, and then you wouldn't see the grid names, and the lines might look confusing... So yeah, I don't know. Maybe this is one of those cases where "less is more". Edit2: I can see the sector call-outs working with recon tools; Divide your level up in 8x8 script zones that match the image grid, when your recon device projectile lands it checks in what zone it landed and sends a message to your team. Quite a bit of work though setting up those zones and fitting them into the grid, but I guess it is an option. Edit77: The more I think on this topic, the more I find myself leaning towards just having a clean map with no drawings, and encouraging players just communicate properly to do their teamwork. Perhaps all these drawings are just there to make the game [too] easy, and are more trouble than they are worth when it comes to hooking gameplay to them.2 likes

I think the amount of voice line editing to make that one work, would physically harm BattleLaf in real life.1 like

Even though it looks simple, it looks really nice and fits perfectly as a small bit of green in front of your home. +1 from me lad.1 like

We designate a teammate on air traffic duty. And that teammate will totally not be a spy waiting to steal a MiG or Yak from some poor sap.1 like

It's the most satisfying feeling witnessing things like this. Pushing the W3D engine's boundaries and making the impossible possible. The team here really does amazing work.1 like
