  4. Now this is a post i was NOT expecting on this forum Pleasantly surprised! I've been Dj'ing and producing DNB for years and have a pretty decent vinyl collection. It goes from like 1992-2012, and that picture is only a small part of it: That spor tune is SICK but I'm more into the jump up side of things like: Also into the lighter side too (play this on a sunny day)
  5. Hey, So my next thought was: How do you make the projectiles and the energy discharges for the vehicle/infantry and defense weapons? Is it similar to making an emitter? I've got some cool ideas for some energy weapons and hopefully you guys could shove me in the right direction. Thanks!

  7. Hey, So I've managed to get my tank in game, firing moving and not autorolling. It is very slow though. What's the best way of defining the speed, is it in the level edit settings. Could I decrease the mass? Or could I add more wheel bones for extra umph? What is the standard procedure?

  9. Heh mine is pretty embarrassing actually. Back in the 56k days I thought id try playing ra2 online, id never played games online before and It asked me for a nickname. While I was typing in "Ben777" or something there was an advert for Metz Schnapps (some alcoholic drink) on tv and being the coolest 12 year old in the world, I thought "Schnapps" sounded cool. I had to make it unique, so it became "Shnappz".

  13. yeah... texturing the tank is the next thing i'm going to do... Do you mean UVW unwrap it? as in when you are going to texure it?

  15. Hey, Maybe i should start a "Shnappz needs help thread" In APB and TSR, the cameras for the vehicles seem to follow the turrent rather than the chassis of the tanks, which is nice. I imported my vehicle into level edit in place of the GDI medium tank and it appears that the camera is attached to the chassis, which is OK... but not perfect! How can i make it follow the turret? Thanks in advance PS. Slightly unrelated but when i made my tank bigger in 3DS and imported it into Level Edit, i couldn't enter the vehicle, Is there anywhere you can set where you enter it from? I assume that when i made my tank bigger, the enter area was unreachable?
  16. I know how you feel buddy Also i have another question, i've got my tracks moving nicely with the terrain now and my wheels spinning. (by the way LOL, i forgot to flip the X-Axis on the wheels originaly, so when i first imported the tank into game, the wheels were spinning on the wrong axis... Very weird if you can picture it) How is it that the texture spins around the model to give the impression of the tracks actually spinning round? At what point is this part done... does the engine know to "spin" any texture thats attached to the v_tread?

  19. Sorry, I mean in 3ds, it clips when I pull the wheel bone down. I thought that the wwskin would pull the linked verticies down with the bone. Just like the picture in your tutorial. Haven't even got round to exporting it yet. also, to animate in 3ds I guess I push "auto key" instead of that nice big animate button in GMAX.
  20. Hey Dan, I've just tried this tutorial but for some reason my wheels still clip my mesh. I've linked all the vertices to the wheelP bones and everything is all as per your tutorial... Could it be because im using 3ds max rather than GMax?

  22. Hey Squid, I really like the concept, i think instead of an all out slug fest it would make for a more tactical game. It's bridges the gap between an FPS & RTS in a way. I like the idea a lot. I don't know enough about the W3D engine at this stage to be sure if it's possible. I'm sure one of the guys here would be able to say if it is or not. Gotta admit though, it would add a really interesting dynaic into gameplay. If W3D can do it, i'll try and implement it.
