OrangeP47
I'm going to at least pretend to be useful, so nobody can say I was a bad teammate Thunder Wave Snorlax
Killing_You
Gonna start off the battle with Reflect.
Jeod
This looks like it might be intense, folks. Here's some music to set the mood. Pic unrelated.
TheIrishman
Seismic Toss against Magnemite. Should 1HKO Magnemite, but since there's the 25% chance that I'll be stunned, maybe you should attack him as well, Cat5. As for Alakazam, if you have Sword Dance or Leer (Leer would be preferable), either you'll hit normal dmg or we'll both hit normal dmg against him.

I'm going to go make dinner, it will take 30 minutes or so. In the event the turn gets posted before then, I will thunder wave scyther next.

Jeod
Welp, dunno when Category 5 will be here, but I may not be awake by the time he hops on, and other participants may not be either.

Category 5 Hurricane
I'm trying to see if I can plan an autobattle. Thinking I tell him to Slash Magnemite until it's dead, and then switching targets. Is your plan of attack a simple bash-until-dead scenario?
TheIrishman
Pretty much and then I use items where needed. Though I'm not sure if Reflect actually works against Seismic Toss since in the games, although it's said that it halved the incoming physical damage, what it really did was double the defense value of their pokemon but Seismic Toss ignores the opponent's defense so...
Retaliation
I'm going to give it a shot and resolve the first actions.
Category 5 Hurricane
I have three items that I could reasonably expect to use and also have two status effect moves I might use, but obviously those take turns. Do you need Alakazam down fast?
TheIrishman
Okay, looked it up. Seismic Toss isn't affected by Reflect and Night Shade isn't affected by Light Screen.
TheIrishman
No, but you might depending on how much damage he can do to you.

Yep, found a listing myself that direct damaging moves specifically bypass it.
Category 5 Hurricane
Do you remember what moves this thing has? Reflect, Recover, Psychic?

Yeah, Seismic Toss can also hurt Ghosts while Night Shade can hurt Normal Pokemon, despite the fact that both aren't supposed to do any dmg. Though it appears that only works for Gen 1. Reflect, Recover, Psychic, Disable (provided none of them changed).
Category 5 Hurricane
Shit, disable. I forgot about disable.
Retaliation
Probably wise to double check results. Jeod will have to judge if Magnemite takes the full damage from seismic toss. TURN 1: Alakazam used Reflect! Damage taken by team from opponent's physical attacks is halved for 5 turns! Scyther used Slash! A critical hit (automatic)! Magnemite took 7 damage (14 without reflect)(18 HP left)! Magnemite used Thunder Wave! Snorlax is Paralyzed! It may be unable to move! Snorlax is Paralyzed! It can't move (25% chance to fail)!
Category 5 Hurricane
Wait, Reflect works on BOTH?
TheIrishman
Yeah...I don't see anything about it working on both
OrangeP47
I'm pretty sure it does work on both, at least in games with actual double battles. Those moves always reference "team" when deploying.

Retaliation
Jeod mentioned it offhand when I asked how the leer/reflect interaction worked.
OrangeP47
Generation III Instead of doubling the Defense of affected Pokémon, Reflect now technically halves the damage done to them by physical moves; it still does not reduce damage done by moves that deal direct damage. If multiple Pokémon are present on the user's side of the field, all of them are protected by Reflect, but physical damage is only reduced by a third rather than half.
Category 5 Hurricane
Yeah, so it does. I was not ready for that possibility.

TheIrishman
Okay, so the dmg needs to be changed slightly. Seismic Toss Magnemite.
