  1. Honestly, maybe it's just because I'm too focused on "shoot it until it dies," but I haven't noticed it make that much of an impact. The difference almost feels negligible to me. Most people do try to go for the rear if possible anyway, though, either because that's not where the enemy is looking (thereby maximising the time it takes for the target to respond to you), or because many vehicles have turret restrictions preventing them from shooting behind them.
  2. Frankly, I agree. The new model is fantastic, but the current firing mode feels a bit weird. The classic fireball was great as a room clearer, though that's arguably taken by the Grenadier. Either way, I agree that the current firing mechanic is a bit jank and could use some investigating.
  3. If I didn't know better, I'd assume this post was from an auto-generated meme bot.
  4. Yeah, and that's precisely why all of the power roles were the way they were. Riot Trooper could stop conversions, Umagon could track them, Cadre could search for the Reaper or Cyborgs, and the Disc Thrower and Rocket Soldier could both stop the Reaper right then and there. Even then, I was worried that the Reaper would be too powerful.
  5. Anyway, regarding early hammer: The reason I like it and why it's a continued feature of TSR Mafia is twofold: It forces people to think about their votes, and it opens the door for Town to end the game early if they believe they know who scum is. Keeping an eye on the majority is important throughout the day phase and not just the last few hours.
  6. None that I could definitively point to. I do know two specific people in my life that absolutely do not shut up about how wrong you are if they think you're in the wrong. My ex-stepdad in particular will literally scream at the top of his lungs in your face, regardless of the circumstances (including your age).
  7. Honestly, I could SWEAR the idea that cults dying if they target scum was something mentioned several times in the past. Is that not normal, and just something some people have accepted for whatever reason?
  8. Thanks guys. It's largely due to how my mind works. I've gotten to the point where if someone simply points out a mistake, I can take a deep breath and correct it. It's usually emotionally charged rants and continued criticism after the point of response that cause this kind of reaction. I'm slowly getting better, but it's difficult. Thank you all for being patient with that.
  9. Glad you had fun. I've just learned to acknowledge that when every mistake I make requires repeated walls of texts long after I've apologized and pledged to adjust for the future, it's best to just quit. Now the question is, even after pledging to quit, if I'm still being told how bad the decision was, what do next?
  10. Doesn't matter anyway. I had fun playing Mafia with you guys, and I apologize for all the trouble. I look forward to watching the future games.
  11. I was flip-flopping in my head trying not to piss anyone off. Like I said, it was a COLOSSAL fuck up on my part, and I wholeheartedly apologize for ruining the game as a result.
  12. Early day start was also a player request, just FYI.
  13. GAME OVER The base personnel corner those who they believe to be the infiltrators, only for them to open fire. Soon after, Nod reinforcements arrive, and the base falls... FRAYDO, the Elite Cadre, is victorious! OrangeP47, the Rocket Soldier, is victorious! An examination of the wreckage reveals what the mysterious Cyborg Reaper was. Apparently, it was sent by CABAL to harvest personnel in order to transform them into cyborgs. It was destroyed before it could do so, thankfully. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED Congratulations to all the Nod players! REFLECTION Overall, I do feel like this setup was marginally better than the last one, though I did drop the ball hard in places. For one, when I implemented the Cyborg Reaper, I was under the impression that cults died when trying to convert scum, and balanced the game around that. Also, I mishandled the length of N2. Classic case of "If you try to please everyone, you'll please no one." Still, it was interesting to watch. Updating message with doc links in just a sec!
  14. @FRAYDOshoots and kills @ChopBam! He was the GDI Light Infantry! Game over post incoming.
  15. DAY THREE The base personnel wake up in fear of more deaths, only to be relieved when everyone reports for duty. Finally, a night without death! Day Three ends in 53 hours 26 minutes.
  16. Changed my mind slightly. I have all night actions, so I'll start D3 when I wake up tomorrow, which will likely result in the night phase lasting a true 24 hours.
  17. MOD ANNOUNCEMENT: If I receive all night actions before originally scheduled hammer (approx. 6 hours from now), I will start D3 then.
  18. NIGHT TWO With a pile of bodies to dispose of, including a mysterious wreckage, the base personnel gather around the one they suspect to be the infiltrator. He protests and declares his innocence to his dying breath, a fact which is backed up by his belongings and records. Mojoman, the GDI Disc Thrower, has been lynched! With tensions mounting, and defeat imminent, they retire for the night. There is still a way out of this, but they will have to act carefully to achieve it... PLAYER VOTE Jeod DEAD @Retaliation Mojoman @ChopBam Mojoman Anon_Kat DEAD @OrangeP47 Mojoman @Louis OrangeP47 Category 5 Hurricane DEAD Shade939 DEAD @Mojoman OrangeP47 @FRAYDO Mojoman LEAD Mojoman 4/4- HAMMER Day 3 begins in 30 hours 40 minutes.
  19. Just woke up. I'll be at my PC in a bit to handle hammwr.
  20. Got lucky. One second later and you would've had to wait until morning. @Mojomanshoots at @FRAYDO, but misses!
  21. @Voecomes in and starts wildly shooting at the dead Cyborg Reaper! Realizing he's not base personnel, everyone gathers around the madman, confiscates his gun, and tosses him out of the base!
