  1. Underground silos in caves protected by walls of flame towers / pillboxes
  2. I've considered this several times over the last year or so and actually done some supporting work behind the scenes. I'm hesitant to allow installing the game directly thru the launcher but patching it with the latest and greatest from TT is do-able...
  3. An alternative is to just add silos etc to infantry maps to boost income for those maps specifically. Avoids messing with the economy on non-infantry maps then
  4. No drama, just a friendly kick for not discussing stuff before making unilateral decisions @Jerad: do what I do then: disable signatures in your profile settings, then you don't have to see them at all
  5. Welcome to the forums Coolrock I've just upped it to 700x200. Enjoy! <3 errr... I set those limits for a reason. not impressed you changed it without even consulting me... Communication is important people! :/
  6. Don't look at us, we didn't pick the versioning scheme
  7. Good question, it's not a deliberate feature. I suspect it's because WPF supports touch and pen inputs, but that's just a guess... Edit: Based on a bit of googling it looks like a new feature of .NET 4.5.2
  8. That log shows that the launcher isn't able to establish a secure connection to our backend services, definitely looks firewall related since you can clearly connect to our site via a browser.
  9. Please try installing the full direct x web redist from Microsoft; https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displayLang=en&id=35
  10. Which game are you trying to install via the launcher? There are different versions of vcredist_x86 available for all the different versions of visual studio and update levels to those versions, thus simply installing the first vcredist_x86 you find online isn't necessarily the right one for our games. We also currently target different versions with each game, although we're aiming to standardise this with future tsr update.
  11. because collision detection is client side using alternative models can give you an advantage because their vehicle may appear exposed on your screen where it is concealed on theirs. thus we don't permit model alterations. sorry.
  12. Hey Raap, good to see you again! I just read your mammoth feedback post over on the BHP forums, lots of good points raised there... I particularly liked the idea of being able to capture oil derricks by simply being present as a non-engineer... more similar to a control zone on domination mode I guess. Currently the two scripts, whilst built on similar foundations, aren't completely compatible but if Pushwall is interested I could look into supporting something like that...
  13. I'm not much of a modeller myself, but I often found that one of the hardest parts is adding detail, imperfections and "clutter" to the model to make it more realistic... this is often where my imagination let me down! You'll also have to figure out which details need modelling in and which could be added with texturing etc.
  14. Why are you hanging onto an archaic operating system? XP is not even supported by Microsoft anymore..
  15. Merry Christmas to everyone in the W3D Hub community! We hope you all have a wonderful festive day and that Santa brought you some amazing presents
  16. They all use common textures shared with other things. I've not got around to doing much with always2 in a while
  17. Moonsense, I can clearly see the models in as always2...
  18. I never said whether I thought the new Windows strategy was good or bad, but I think I understand WHY they're doing it... it's an effort to avoid the Windows XP effect happening again, where people fixate on a given version of Windows and refuse point blank to upgrade, causing fragmentation of the user base and making life difficult for developers. From now on developers can just target the latest public version of Windows 10 knowing that the mostly-mandatory and automatic software updates will ensure almost everyone has been updated to that version. It's also easier for the non-tech savvy. No more "compatible with windows X, Y, Z, etc, etc", it's just "compatible with Windows".
  19. Except Microsoft have already said Windows 10 is the last version of Windows. From now on they'll just keep adding stuff to Windows 10 and changing it over time. Kind of like how MacOS has been on version 10 for 14 years now.
  20. Windows 10 is my favourite. 8 and 8.1 were OK, but lacked the polish of Win7. XP is just rather dated these days... I've played around with various linux distros over the years but none of them really convinced me that linux is ready for use as a general purpose day to day OS yet
