Thanks for uploading the crashdump! Maybe @jonwil can use it to figure out why you guys are having this issue. -
For Your Information So it has been like 14 years...

Thats cool, thanks for sharing! I just have one question though... Are you actually Post Malone IRL or just a doppelganger? -
Well I guess that settles it. By popular demand, RenAlert 9935 will be coming to a launcher near you! Soon™

I started working on Sole Survivor a while back. It poses some interesting challenges because it is of a unique construction, like no other renegade mod. SomeRhino did much of this customization to make it behave like a standalone game, while still piggybacking on renegade. I have made some good progress, but there is still plenty to do. I've made a couple videos that you can find on youtube and see the beginning stages. I need to make another video to show the current progress. But yes, it is being worked on. The download that Moonsense linked up there contains only the original files, which only work with stock renegade (you can not use any of the TT updates or it will break it). Hopefully we can have it running on a modern version of the engine soon! Thanks for your interest!

There may be more, but I have 3 of those maps, and I believe they are all for 9935. They may be able to be brought to beta, not sure. I also have a newer version of one of them that is meant for something after 1.2 (1.3 or 1.4 I believe). I fully intended to release them, so stay tuned

I am speculating of course, but it could be because 5.x games are (broadly speaking) a very "uncommon" piece of executable code, and they probably don't yet have a definition for it. Whereas 4.x and older versions bear much closer resemblance to the original 2002 Renegade exe, which I would expect them to have analyzed and "cleared" by now.

Apologies for only noticing this now. I assume you are referring to APB Delta (not Beta)? Have you tried seeing if the game runs in single player mode at all? Your OS version and GPU model may also be helpful information. Check in the C:\Users\USER\Documents\W3D Hub\games\apb-release\debug folder and see if the game is creating dump files when it crashes. If so, please compress the most recent one into a zip or 7z file and upload here for analysis. Thanks!

Maybe I should just leave this one to you, I'm missing everything haha
-
Ahh I see. Max, I just realized that we dont know what version of Windows you are running. APB requires Windows 7 with service pack 1, or Windows 8/8.1 or Windows 10 in order to run at all. Reborn and IA and all others will still run on older operating systems however. What version are you using?

Please understand that we are trying to help. The questions and suggestions we are giving are not random. We are trying to identify a pattern that would reveal the problem, or at least get us closer to finding it. If D told you to install a TLS update, then I recommend that, as D is a programmer and likely knows much more about what could be wrong than I do. Some computers will run all other games fine, as they should. But sometimes a small random issue can prevent a game or type of game from running, even on a computer that is physically capable. The smallest thing can be out of place to cause this, we just have to work together to find out what it is. The game server will not block your connection unless you have been banned, and even then IT WILL CONNECT for long enough to display a message to you saying that you have been banned, and disconnect only after you press "ok". You have NOT been banned however, and your client is not connecting at all, so it is not a blocking issue there. Similarly, the launcher does not block any connections - it only creates them, by launching games. It does not possess the capability to do anything more. The games all generate crashdumps - normally. The launcher is not crashing, so it does not need to generate a dump in this case, neither does the server, as it is not crashing either. It is uncommon for a game to crash without creating a dump. That in itself is useful information, and is likely what led D to wonder about an antivirus software potentially blocking the game from running at all, because it suggests that the game is crashing before the code that creates the dump files is able to be executed. Since that code is near to the beginning, a crash so early in the program's runtime usually means that it never really ran at all, which indicates that something (such as an antivirus software) may have prevented it. That is not the only possibility, just one that is usually easy to identify, which is probably why it came up first. That would be us. We are trying to understand what is happening and why. Perhaps a one of us can have a look at your system via teamviewer or other remote software?
-
Totally forgot about that bit, sorry. But if we could have some of your crashdumps, and have clarity on whether or not the game runs in single player mode, that will help us in trying to figure this out.
-
@Portalpine Have you had any luck getting your game to run? If your AV software is not the problem, then start by trying to launch the game in Single Player and see if it runs that way. If not, that narrows down the possibilities. Also look in the C:\Users\USER\Documents\W3D Hub\games\apb-release\debug folder and see if the problem is creating crashdumps. If so, please compress at least one of them into a zip file and upload them here so that we can investigate further.

Does this happen every time? Can you provide us a crashdump file from C:\Users\USER\Documents\Renegade\Client\debug please, so that we can investigate? You will need to zip the file to upload it here. -

Help How to download the tiberium technologies client
Einstein replied to Apotheosis's topic in Help & Support
Does this screen not appear? This should be the first thing you see when running the TT installer. If the default location does not match your Renegade folder, then you can correct it by using the "browse" button to navigate to the correct folder. -
Screenshots might help us understand what issue you are experiencing.

@MaDMaxNXC Hi Lets do a simple test to rule some things out. Since you are trying to play APB delta, let us first make sure that your game even runs correctly. Can you run it in single player mode? On the Games tab, select APB and you should see the blue Single Player button. Depending on what happens, this will tell us more about how to continue. Also, your APB crashdumps are in a similar place to the one that you uploaded, just in a folder called APB (or apb-release I believe).

Ever wondered where RA:APB started? Well, you can see for yourself! Back in 2002, two gents known as Agent Gibson and 13f7h4nd3d (Lefthanded) hatched an idea to build a Red Alert 1 themed mod for Renegade. This was a bold idea, as Renegade had only released earlier that same year. But they got to work, and Renegade Alert was born. Unlike all later versions which are "total conversions" aka standalone games, this initial release is a "pkg mod", or single-file self-contained mod, which was common in those days. It makes use of Westwood's built-in mod-loader, which works by using Renegade as a foundation, pulling what it needs from the base game, and loading new (modified) content on top of it to produce the intended experience. To play: (Renegade is required, version does not matter) Extract the .pkg file from the .7z file in the download. Paste it into your Renegade/data folder, and then run the game. Host a multiplayer game, and on the "map cycle" selection screen, choose "RedAlertMod" from the oft-ignored dropdown menu at the top labeled "Mod package". A single map will then appear in the list - ra_keep_off_the_grass - which you will want to double click to move into the rotation list. Click "start game" and travel in time all the way back to the dawn of Renegade modding! Enjoy!- 3 comments
