@Threve yeah I've been observing the NY situation from afar. "The South" is pretty shut down as well, but some people are still out and about. I'm still doing a few things not at home when I have to, but am limiting my interactions where at all possible. If I'm not exposed already, I will be soon because my wife is employed at Vanderbilt Medical center, and is deemed essential. Aside from her going to work every day, we're keeping in for the most part. Shelter-in-place orders are coming out as well. @MPRA2 Hopefully this will be over in time for you to get something done. Put back that fancy government check when it comes in lol As a side-note: I still have not bought toilet paper, and we have plenty...

Walnut. Hard as crap but beautiful for sure. Made anything cool? Start a thread if you want to showcase your woodwork!

Apocalypse Rising It is time for a release.
Einstein replied to ReaLNero's topic in Command & Conquer
I can affirm that this is the position held by AR's project leads. I worry about this myself, and my personal opinion falls somewhere around here, but I'm not in charge @Killing_You is spot-on however. Much has changed, and new mods are now held to a higher standard because of how Delta raised the bar so much above everything prior. Plans may still change, but there are no current plans for a non-complete* release. By "non-complete", I am referring to a certain milestone that the leads have in mind. -
I shall supervise. From at least 6 feet away.

The TT "scripts" package is actually the entire game engine. We often refer to it as "scripts" because it does contain many additional custom scripts for extra game function, but it is indeed the engine itself. The same engine that the editor requires to do its thing. They must be modified and upgraded together, since they share a common codebase, otherwise the editor would not know about new engine capabilities.

So in stock renegade (and some mod projects) the objects and strings are stored in an "objects.dbs" file, which is essentially just another .dat file, just with a different extension. Extract that file with w3d3x or XCC mixer and you will get what you need I think Westwood did it like this to make object/strings updates small and painless.

Thats the spirit!

@Raptor29aa managers everywhere are getting it pretty hard right now. My wife is a nurse manager and she has brought home some stories... Four horsemen though, thats always a fun one 😁

We have been having retular US evening (really late UK time) games for several days. Much fun!

I have missed you

Maybe its different in your country, but here the men stand up to pee, and thus require no toilet paper. Therefore your calculations are somewhat flawed
-
lolwhat? Are you saying we don't use enough or something?

This is dumb ^ I've not bought toilet paper in like 6 weeks. Not because I couldn't find it, but because I already had a 12-pack. Guess what? Turns out that between me and the wife, we average using one roll a week... As for food, we caught it early and bought A FEW extra things (needed groceries anyway), and we're still good for another ~10 days before we absolutely have to buy food. Dr Pepper however... I may have to venture out into the wild in the next couple days to restock on that EDIT: Not saying that you are dumb, but that the hoarders are dumb. No need for that mess - yet.

2020 summed up so far.

How is everyone doing? We have curfews and shutdown orders going in effect here.

So there was Reborn 2003 by Deezer Studios (the original team), then the Infantry Beta in 2008 by RenEvo (the next team), which was very refined, and actually did contain vehicles, they were just not available for the most part (due to not being completely finished). Then there was the 1.x release, which is the "family" that the current release is in. I don't remember exactly when that was, but somewhere around 2010-2012. Then W3Dhub launched with Reborn as the flagship game in 2015, and several individuals have contributed to its progress since then. Currently its just under the W3D Hub "umbrella" studio. And yes, we do plan to release Reborn 2.0 sometime soon(tm). The date has moved around quite a bit, as things get shuffled around for what will be included in the release. Rest assured though, we will announce it when we know more

So you will need the actual Renegade game as well, as that is where the editor gets the resources. You will also want to grab the latest LE scripts from tiberiantechnologies.org @ChopBam and @Jerad2142 and others can help with some of the questions that I'm sure are coming next. I don't know much :P But welcome to W3D Hub! Ask for anything you need and we will find someone who can help!

@AZ-Stalker JP is the man!!

I can necro this right? The safest of distances for sure Also you broke the game fraydurr, you didn't post what danger you are actually in, so we can't save you now!
-
Remember this? "Save me!" was one of the first forum games that we played here once W3D Hub was formed around 5 years ago. My, my, how the time flies! Well lets get right into it then. Its really simple, fun, and it goes like this: The OP (so me in this case) posts a description of a situation in which they are in peril, and will most certainly lose their life if there is no intervention. The next poster (which we will call P2 in this example) must then engineer a creative way (McGyver, Superheroes, The A-Team, Avengers, Donald Trump, etc) in which the previous poster will be saved from their peril. However, P2 is then also put in peril, either by the events which led to the saving of the previous poster, or by a non-related event. Return to step 2, P3 saves P2 but also falls into danger, etc, etc. The rules are these: Remain civil and follow all forum rules at all times. Some discussion is allowed, but do not derail this thread. All events must occur linearly in the same timeline/universe, and must not break the "relationship chain", otherwise the game is not as much fun. Do not attempt to break the game. Not specifically a rule, but do try to not post at the exact time as someone else. An accidental ninja-post would split the time line!! Have fun. While working in my lab to get all the wonderful APB Beta players their much needed 1080p resolution (so they don't have to use 800x600 anymore), my lab assistant @delta hears a noise outside. CRASH! A truck loaded with Coronavirus haz-mat suits crashes into the lab, killing the driver and pinning me to the wall! Save me!

@MPRA2 That would indeed be a worst case. While some things have slowed down or stopped completely due to the social isolation protocol, other things with relation to this situation will remain stable, or increase in activity due to the demand of certain goods. I spoke with an employee of NES yesterday (Nashville Electric Services), and he said that the only thing that has changed is that they have been instructed to only work with each other when absolutely necessary, take staggered lunches, etc. Nobody is being sent home, because electricity is pretty important. Likewise, my wife (a nurse) has been told on the subject of getting sent home - "LOL". People like me, and many many others here who have computer-related jobs, are set up (or getting set up) to work from home. @Jerad2142 just got a new desk . And the government is working on getting those who need it some financial assistance to aid in stabilizing the effect on the economy; to avoid a sharp fall. Stock markets and national economies tend to work on a "sine wave" sometimes. While there will, I'm sure, be some decline, and maybe for some time even... I don't see this as a doomsday scenario. The future is uncertain, but we'll make it through for sure. And the best ways to aid in that are to stay optimistic, help those around you when you can, and play your part (social distancing, etc). EDIT: AND STOP BUYING ALL THE TOILET PAPER!
-
Update on the USA in general: As of yesterday, all citizens are urged to stay home unless there is a really good reason to get out. This new suggested self-imposed "quarantine", or social distancing (new phrase of the week) will last for the next 14 days (15 days from yesterday), and hopefully will slow down the spread of this thing, as well as give hospitals some much-needed time to get people in and out. "Slow the flow", so to speak.
-
So there is actually a briefing (USA) going on right now.
-
Welp. Its here. And where ever you are, its probably there too. Lets talk about it - calmly. I am from the United States, currently living in the Nashville Tennessee area, and we have a couple of confirmed cases here (not surprising when there are over a million people). People are panic-buying items like toilet paper (???) soap/disinfectants, cleaning supplies, bread, eggs, meat, etc... While filling up my truck with gasoline earlier (yes I was actually empty, 0.5 gallons remaining), I noticed an older gentleman next to me filling up small Diesel and Gasoline cans in the back of his truck. In the supermarket (walmart in this case), the grocery section was a little on the wild side, very crowded, with most people trying to look like they aren't panic-buying, and shaking their heads in disapproval at the empty shelves which would normally hold things that you wouldn't expect to be sold-out in a "crisis". We currently have some traveling restrictions in effect for going/coming into/out of the country, but nothing internal, yet. There is a rumor that some sort of, dare I say it, self-"quarantine" protocol (basically a strong suggestion to stay at home unless absolutely necessary) might be put into effect "soon". Most people here are handling it quite well I believe. Others, well...yeah others have lost their minds, but I've not seen too many of those yet. What about there? Where are you? What are your federal and local governments doing in response? How about your citizens? Keep this thread civil and panic-free please. Panic helps nobody. And if you don't know the facts, then don't speculate. There is no need to spread misinformation.

Just a short note- You'll notice that there is a teeny tiny update available on the launcher. It is just a not-corrupted water texture. Somehow that happened, and it took us this long to take notice (oops), so 1.5.2.2 is just a micro-patch to fix it. Carry on!
