Jeod
TURN 9 Vulpix used Quick Attack! Seel took 3 DMG (41 HP left)! Seel is freed from Fire Spin! Snorlax is freed from Fire Spin! Seel is hurt by the burn (4 DMG / 37 HP left)! I think I might nerf trap moves in future games.

OrangeP47
An alternative to nerfing would be to end the battle by having Vulpix's partner actually do something besides just faint.
TheIrishman
To be fair, the original game only had 70% accuracy for Fire Spin rather than 85% but I figured it wasn't too important to mention since we'll most likely win anyway.

Jeod
Poor Shade. TURN 10 Vulpix used Fire Spin on Snorlax! Vulpix's attack missed! Seel snapped out of confusion! Seel used Ice Beam! Vulpix took 3 DMG (9 HP left)! Snorlax used Headbutt on Vulpix! Vulpix took 16 DMG (0 HP left)! Vulpix fainted! The victors are Seel (37 HP left) and Snorlax (145 HP left)! The victors will receive their prizes via PM. The losers will also receive their consolation prizes via PM.

TheIrishman
Good game Shade and Sunflower. Now first off, FRAYDO, do you still have your gastly? Second, is anybody up for me proving that I'm not Scum? I can just heal my Snorlax tonight and fight tomorrow. Though preferably against Shade or Orange.
Jeod
GM Announcement: I've answered this question for one player, and it'll probably be asked by more. Some items take effect (i.e. get 'used up') even if you do not participate in a battle. Use wisely. This is a good time to remember that items can be used during battles as well as rest phases.

He's fainted, so per Pokémon mindset he should still be in my party. Thinking in Mafia terms, I assumed he was out of the game. I'm going to say yes I still have him in my party, unless GM states otherwise. @Jeod

FRAYDO
I see. So yes, @TheIrishman I still have Gastly in my party. Why do you ask? and this being my second night post, comments about the battle: Fire Spin OP indeed, holy moly. Sunflower is scary, but an excellent Trainer. Shade is automatically cooler because of the "your horn is the horn that will pierce the heavens!" #TEAMDAI-GURREN "Where do you keep getting these detective pikachu pics?" Elementary, my dear Orange! (and grabbing things off Google images and the Nintendo promo material)

Jeod
Shade pointed out an error in the last battle: Damage = ((2.4 * 90 * (70/30) /50) + 2) * ((0 + 1) * 2) ^That's the correct formula for Seel using Ice Beam on Rhyhorn. It comes out to 24 without a critical hit, and 48 with a critical hit. The only problem is that on Turn 1, Ice Beam did 34 damage to Rhyhorn somehow. Damage = ((2.4 * 90 * (70/30) /50) + 2) * ((0 + 1.5) * 2) But if I add in STAB, we get 36 damage, not 34. Damage = ((2.4 * 90 * (70/30) /50) + 2) * ((0 + 1.5) * 1) And if I take away Type, we get 18. So I suspect the 34 might have been a typo on my part when I mean to write 24, and then used 34 in HP subtraction. That would mean Rhyhorn survived Turn 2 with 8 HP left. I rolled for Horn Drill and it missed, but that doesn't mean it would have missed during the battle. I'm giving Shade an additional item via rng due to this error. And I'll be more thorough in future battle resolutions and ignore demand for a speedy trial.
Jeod
DAY THREE Kanto News 6 reporting in on day three of the Rocket Siege. Police continue to be restrained by Team Rocket thugs, but the public remains confident that the Trainers can retake control of the Silph building. Protestors have begun gathering outside the building--police urge civilians to keep a safe distance as Team Rocket is known to unconventionally use their poison-type Pokemon on people. Police from the neighboring Celadon City have instructed a task force to protect Saffron Hospital in a precautionary measure. Today is a single battle day.
