  3. My personal main issue is that I've never learned how W3D tools operate, since I was never part of the old glory days of W3D and Renegade modding. But after getting set up and provided the updated tools by W3D Hub devs like ChopBam along with helpful advice, information and tutorials from experienced mappers and Moonsense's tutorial section, things are moving along. But I'm W3D Hub staff/dev, and have access to getting up-to-date software and information that is needed for our latest releases, and am not sure how available these things are to the public. Having easy to download packs and how-to's would be a big plus. And as far as I know we have people working on getting things just like that out there to kick things off. A big hurdle is going back to old 3DS Max (which people might not have) and tackling both the map model and the level edit thingies, but proxy elements really help out with that, and from what I've seen the projects are only now getting really organized and sorted so systems like that can be easily streamlined through an effective workflow that newcomers can more easily use. I'm kinda testing that out as I'm learning along parallel to the mapping workflow getting some upgrades and documentation. Not sure to what degree it'll all advance, but it's something that's helping me out greatly. If I didn't have any help and just had to rely on tutorials posted around, it would look way too daunting and complicated for me to give it a chance.

  5. Voe and I were talking about trying to organize an APB clan war type of thing with anyone interested. Some high level play with teamspeak and everything. The problem is that we don't have the playerbase to support two high-end clans facing it off properly without one overpowering the other by sheer pro-player-snatch-up. To counter that we're going to try and make a community-wide roster and put everyone in teams prior to a match depending on game experience so the team skillsets are somewhat evened out. Anyone who applies to participate cannot expect for their entire clan to be placed on one side, it all depends on how many skilled players we have to put in game. We'll need somewhat evened out teams. We can handle this by having two very experienced W3D Hub staff members picking team members prior to the begining of a PUG (Pick-Up-Game) match on teamspeak. You don't have to have a microphone to participate (but it would greatly boost the quality of the game if you did!), but you do need to be able to listen in and follow directions if a strategy is being put in motion in game. Anyone who wants to join up and apply to play in PUG matches can just leave a reply here. We're trying to see how many people we can scrape up to play in organized matches. Ideally on a weekend for this first test. Anyone can play as long as you cooperate, don't go against a chosen team leader's game tactic and don't team hamper or break any server rules. We also need people interested in moderating and helping organize the thing, just keeping track of people and helping set up teams prior to a match on teamspeak. (moderators feel free to edit and add or remove people from the roster) POSSIBLE PLAYER ROSTER:

  7. [blurb]Listen up soldiers! The W3D Hub Pick-Up Games are upon us![/blurb] [thumb]thumb_apb.9.png[/thumb] JOIN TEAMSPEAK @ ts.w3dhub.com TO PLAY on Saturday (April 29th) at 8:00 PM GMT (EU) / 3:00 PM CST (US) Over these past few days, the server has seen some incredible matches! Matches like these haven't been seen since the good ol' days, and if you remember the good ol' days you may remember the APB Clan Wars, and if you remember the APB Clan Wars, you may also remember the high-level teamplay and intense action. Those moments of team coordination and well-executed rushes, turning the tide of the battle, and knowing that mere seconds can mean victory or defeat. We can create these moments yet again, and that is our aim! This weekend, through the efforts of AZ-Stalker, Voe, Einstein, Strike, and Silverlight, we will be hosting a special event! Dubbed the W3D Hub Pick-Up Games (or PUGs), it is the start of a new initiative where those willing to do some real tournament game play can sign up quickly before an event, assign themselves into teams and go out and fight. No clans. Just us, the APB players. Everyone is welcome to participate. In its opening thread, more than several players have already signed up onto the community-wide roster! Skilled players and staff members are on board, and you certainly can be too. To join up, there are but a few instructions; #1 W3D Asterisk Tool The first instruction is to download Einstein's W3D Asterisk Tool, which you may find here. Disclaimer: This is not intended to be a replacement for the official W3D Hub Launcher. It is a direct-connect tool that will allow access into the Pick-Up Game server. Once you have the Asterisk tool downloaded, follow along with these steps. [Click to reveal below] #2 TeamSpeak Having followed these two instructions, you are well on your way to the high-octane action that the Clan Wars brought in their time. See you on the battlefield, comrades! Apologies for the last-minute announcement. Between server preparation and establishing the rules of engagement, we wanted to ensure this event will proceed without any difficulties, technical or otherwise. NinjaEdit: Time fixed!

  8. I've gone to start a map or two for APB in the past and wanted to remake one or two old fan maps fairly recently. I just never had the incentive to either get them to a good place or actually start work on an older map, mainly due to how much work goes into it when I have a game to finish myself.

  10. Sweet video. Digging that texture pack, though I'm torn on if I'd actually use it myself. Also lol Baltimore. Unfortunate I had to miss it, but I like that double kov we had going at the afterparty Voe, at least until I lagged right into the pillbox Got the sniper at least.

  13. My scoreboard screenshots didn't save for some reason, but I have something to make up for it. It was a fun event all things considered - next time we'll announce it properly so we can have way more people join in as planned. Plus, something extra in case anyone is wondering who our commanders were:

  15. Welcome everyone. In celebration of the new Delta release I wanted to give back and make something for the community. I hope you'll like it. What I have here is a replacement for all the icons in-game to be made into the original Red Alert Icons!! Nothing was left out as the Captains, Snipers and shot gunners were also given a new look, the color changing still works and you can tell which spy is which. Take a peek and if you like it download! If you encounter any problems, notify me and i will correct it immediately. As always, thank you! Purchase Terminal.7z
