Apocalypse Rising AR :: December 2017 Update
OWA replied to Apocalypse Rising Team's topic in Red Alert 2: Apocalypse Rising
Glad you like the idea of Reinforcement Bays Jack! We'll have Migs in the game already, but they are currently part of Boris' airstrike ability. We've got no plans for soviet air bases currently, but they will definitely be getting the Siege Chopper and Kirov Airship! -
Hi there! I've renamed your thread from "Funny Pictures" to "Image Macro Memes". Mainly because it's more accurate to what's actually in here. Whilst we don't usually like image macro spam, we don't really have an outlet for it either, so using this thread to contain these image macros is probably for the best.

Help Horrible luck: cannot get ECW or W3Dhl working on any of my OS's
OWA replied to Veyrdite's topic in Help & Support
Hey man! I remember your name from a while back! I just wanted to point out that all of the RenHelp tutorials should be re-hosted here: https://w3dhub.com/forum/forum/171-w3d-tutorials/ Let us know if we're missing any! Cheers! -
I have VR and was thinking of getting this. But lack of friends who own it and the steep price tag has put me off so far. Would be willing to get it if there was interest in putting a crew together though!

The bridge is looking good @Raap! I can't see the other stuff because the firewall at work blocks google drive for some reason though. If you want to upload attachments to the forum I think you should be able to do that. Edit: I also wanted to add that I have taken a look into enabling the forum source editor stuff and I might have a solution. I don't think it's a good idea to edit HTML editing, since there are some security risks involved. IPB switched the text editor to CKEditor when they pushed out IPB4, which dropped the BBCode source edit button. I think I may have found a way to get it back, so I will take a look tonight!

Apocalypse Rising AR :: December 2017 Update

I think it might be a little bit longer than that! xD -
I'll look into this for you @Raap, there might be something that we can do.

Apocalypse Rising AR :: December 2017 Update

It's a little box you can pop up where you can select a target for a something to occur and it then occurs where you select it. Like an overhead map of sorts. -
Apocalypse Rising AR :: December 2017 Update
OWA replied to Apocalypse Rising Team's topic in Red Alert 2: Apocalypse Rising
Spawning an AI was how we were looking to do it back when we thought it was a good idea to include the Cloning Vats. If we ever include the building, it will probably be in the form of a mission map or something similar. -
Awesome I animated a Fallout music video!
OWA replied to Squid Empire's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
This is great man! The composition on your shots is spot on! You've clearly got an eye for filming stuff. Carpenter Brut always wins as well. -
Good to see you around again Dave and thanks for posting this thread! I'll make sure that this file review gets put on our road-map for this year so that we can get it done. Our download section is looking a little bare after all!

A big congratulations is in order for the Red Alert 2: Apocalypse Rising crew, as we have snagged an honourable mention in the Indie DB Players Choice for Best Upcoming Indies 2017! This means that we actually made it into the top 5, but didn't get any higher than our previous record (3rd place). Check out the news on Indie DB's site right here! We should be really proud of this, as we are standing shoulder to shoulder with commercial Indie Games such as Mount & Blade, as well as games that have been crowdfunded. The fact that we're still here placing high on the awards roster shows that our project is truly special and our fans are with us all the way! This is a brilliant Christmas present and a great way to round out the year; so, from the AR team to you, the fans, we thank you! There's more results coming tomorrow, so we'll be keeping our eyes peeled to see if Red Alert: A Path Beyond and Tiberian Sun: Reborn have managed to win anything, as well as other mods from around the C&C community! Also as a side note, our friends over at Tiberian Sun Rising, won 5th place in the best upcoming mod in the Mod DB awards this year! Big congratulations to them! You can check out Assassin's long-anticipated project by clicking here! This should be fixed now. Cheers for highlighting it!

Hi everyone! We've been busy behind the scenes updating the forum a little bit, so allow me to quickly take you through the changes! The Tiberian Sun: Reborn skin was causing errors across several different areas of the forum, so we've re-made it. It should be a lot nicer to use now and should be less broken now. This will also pave the way to allow us to create more forum skins. (APB next!) We now have a forum calendar! We will be putting events on it (like game nights) so that you guys can easily see what's coming up. You can also subscribe to the events calendar as well which will notify you when new events are posted! Handy stuff! We've also got more plans for this feature in the future, so watch this space! Our Bug Tracker has now gone public! If you find any issues with our games, feel free to leave us a bug report! More projects will become available for bugging when they are released! Big thanks to @moonsense715 for creating and improving the bug tracker that we prototyped ages ago! We'll be providing a tutorial on how to post bugs soon, but feel free to have a go if you feel like it! There's now a link under the Chat menu tab which contains all of the TeamSpeak info! We didn't have this before, but we do now! There are now a few quick links listed under the Forums menu tab which act as a shortcut to the major discussion forums! The reputation system is back! You can now like posts again, which was something that a few people missed when an IPB update broke the visual styling a few months back! As ever, if you have any comments or feedback on how to improve the forum, please let us know and we'll be happy to hear them! [blurb]We've been busy behind the scenes updating the forum! Read all about it in this update![/blurb] [thumb]custom_thumb_ipb.png[/thumb]

W3D Hub Christmas Time Is Here! - Monthly Avatar Theme

That's right folks! Red Alert: A Path Beyond, Tiberian Sun: Reborn and Red Alert 2: Apocalypse Rising have all made it to IndieDB's top 100 for released and unreleased categories respectively! You also can still vote for us to be narrowed down even further and get a shot at winning some awards by heading here and voting for us! http://www.indiedb.com/groups/2017-indie-of-the-year-awards/top100 We've had a bit of bad luck with the awards in recent years, but thanks to all your dedication as W3D fans, we've shown the world that once again we can brush shoulders with the best of them. Every year the competition gets stiffer, but the fact that we made it just goes to show and there's still life in the old dog yet. Finally, a big congratulations goes out to other C&C projects that made it into the ModDB top 100 this year! Feel free to head on over and support our friends making C&C mods (especially Tiberian Sun: Rising) at the following link! http://www.moddb.com/groups/2017-mod-of-the-year-awards/top100 Cheers everyone! I was leaning towards auto-cannon as well for these exact reasons. Naturally we can give whatever damage values we want for the projectile, but there would definitely be more expectations there if the weapon was a Rocket Launcher.
-
That weapon reference is awesome Raap, thanks for sharing! I do like the idea of a low-damage auto-cannon or rocket launcher. I'll look a bit deeper into the sci-fi angle to see what I can dig up too. This has been really helpful, cheers!

Hey guys. I'm just taking another look at the Rocketeer and I'm unsure about what his weapon actually is. I originally thought that it was some sort of revolving flechette launcher, but I'm not so sure. Here are the details: In RA2 the Rocketeer's weapon is listed simply as "20mm" On the EVA Database page, the weapon is listed as being "Integrated twin 20mm assault rifles with suppressors" which I believe to be wrong, due to the way the Rocketeer only fires one shot at a time and the impact effect appears to display an element of spray; as multiple impact points are visible. Reference In the concept art, the Rocketeer's weapon appears to have a revolving magazine. The same kind of magazine that you can see on weapons such as the Milkor MGL. The question I want to pose to you guys is simple. What do you think the Rocketeer is armed with? Was I right the first time by saying that it's a Flechette Launcher or could it be some kind of Shotgun, Rifle or Grenade Launcher? Here's the original concept art by TJFrame: Here's also an additional piece of concept art that's a bit older: Cheers!

Hey Raap, good to see you around again! Things at APB have quietened down currently, but if you know us then you'll know that we don't give up. We have a couple of projects in development that should be able to help us get the game out there to more players. There is a vast un-tapped audience of players who we aren't reaching, but when the time comes and we do reach them, APB will be back and better than ever.
-
That's fair enough man. Good to know that there's some solid reasoning behind it. I can understand that infantry don't always get the best deal when it comes to map routes. I think that the changes you describe for Plan B would help the map to become less of a meat grinder for sure. Cheers for replying.
