  1. You know what? Fine. Won't be super active during the first few phases (as of today's planning), but should be more active afterwards.
  2. Welp, happy birthday, even if I'm four days late!
  3. Don't yet know if I'm able to join. So keep me at a maybe for now.
  4. I'm not able to vote in the US. So yeah. But I do think that Bernie, even if he is an outsider, would have won the ellection against Trump for the simple fact that he is a more likable person for the common middle man than Clinton was. That, plus he, unlike Clinton, stood for change, something people have been calling for.
  5. Precisely. People are who are/were disillusioned with the current state of affairs have been/are being silenced by today's political correctness. Forcing this view onto people will only make it more likely for people to vote for the opposition, they feel heard, they feel that said candidate/option/whatever represents possible change and they are sick and tired for not being allowed to express their views lest they be branded as racist/sexist/homophobic/*inserreligionorminorityhere*phobic. There are more reasons, but this is one of the main ones. And the worst thing is that people haven't learned and continue to brand the voters like this even if they may not be herpaderpaphobic at all.
  6. I found the following kinda humorous. Shows how people underestimated both Trump and a large part of the US population. If anybody wants to know why I think he won and what I think is taking place in the world right now, feel free to ask. Just don't feel like spending time on the post if people don't think I should bother.
  7. Hopefully the Brexit and Presidential results will shake (European)continental political systems and non-voters to figure out that the current course won't do us any good, not with far-right victories, nor with the status quo. I honestly hope that the settleled parties will take these results as a hint and rethink their current course to at least please the majority (whom are generally part of the nation's primary culture) before continueing to help the minorities non-primary accepted and non-accepted cultures. Should they continue the current trend, the majority will likely throw in their luck with the populist far-right, which generally won't bring us any good. I'd also like the non-voters to actually participate in the voting process lest we want to see disasters like the Brexit vote (my opinion) and the Dutch Ukraine referendum again. I believe that it isn't so much that the voters thought that Trump is an amazing guy, but rather that they were done with the established system and wanted to throw in their luck with a different party/person/whatever. Unhappy citizens in a democracy have the tendency to do that. (And yes, both Clinton and Trump were terrible candidates, although I'm still debating which of them would have been worse.) The far-right gaining momentum is indeed worrying. Agreed. It's tough being a centrist these days. Well, the pound lost 1/5th of it's value although I've heard that it has risen again after the recent court ruling. Some companies are having issues, others are making financial gains compared to before the vote. I don't think we can say whether or not Brexit will be good for the British economy until (or if!) the actual Brexit happens and on which terms. However, as Jie told us, the vote did cause some UK unity issues.
  8. Should have probably told you guys about the man in my avatar. Willem Drees was pretty much our best prime minister of all time. He was in office from 1948 until 1958 and oversaw a bunch of key post-war developments: the reconstruction of our country (wederopbouw), the traumas of decolonisation, economic growth, the establishment of our welfare state, and the formation of the Benelux, OEEC, ECSC, EEC and Nato. He was a left-wing politician, but he strongly disagreed with the ''new'' left-wing ideas of the 1960s and renounced his membership of the party he used to lead (Dutch Labour Party/PVDA). One would wonder what he would have thought about the current trends in the even newer far-left and far-right politics. Besides, he has a great mustache.
  9. To be fair, there is a model that isn't really accurate. (Not including the placeholders.)
  10. And I keep telling you I don't have the funds available for such a trip, nor am I able to board a plane without experiencing a complete mental breakdown once in the air.
  11. Not here! One of the perks of living in an apartment block I guess. Nor here, one of the perks of living in the Netherlands.
  12. All Hallows' Eve, the moment when the true horrors reveal themselves. Sadly, I was stuck at home, being tired and all.
  13. Wait, could any of you link me the cutscene where it is said that Gradenko conquered east Asia? (I'm lazy.)
  14. This may be true for RA2, However, the Chinese Communist revolution didn't end until 1949. Though, it could be argued that it would have ended much sooner than 1949. And considering the fact than an American-Japanese war did in fact happen (screw you RA2 for not allowing divergence to happen too much), it's likely that US intervention in China would have continued to stabilize the region. Also, considering the fact that the U.S. was involved in China in order to gain and maintain a large, powerful ally in the east, they probably wouldn't have let China go as easily. Especially considering the U.S.'s much more limited involvement in the GWWII. Actually, if I recall correctly, during one of the later cutscenes, Stalin says somethinga about ''finally retaking the land from the Europeans and the Chinese'', indicating that China is, in fact, not communist by the time of Red Alert. The presence of the Allied expansion campaign that took place in Siberia is a further hint that China may not have been communist at the time.
  15. Thats probably why I don't know jack about it. I didn't care about consoles that weren't Nintendos.
  16. I'm going to be honest here, I don't know jack about Halowars. Although I have to say that it feels like I've seen that Blitz mode before in other games, can't name them though. Yes, indeed. Otherwise you guys might as well postpone the release date to 2030.
  17. I may or may not be able to make it, depending on the amount of work I'll receive this evening.
  18. I'm fine with this. Just don't know jack about the death note.
  19. If that was the case, then we would have had no way of killing you two. Ah, so they really did target Cat5? I'm glad I protected him then. And the log confirms this. Woop, I did something right! Hopefully this makes up for my not catching on to your "obvious War Factory" thing earlier on, Cat5. Although, it really wasn't that obvious to me. I had no idea why I received a heavy tank in the night, and I didn't connect it to a war factory role, especially considering war factories did not exist in previous mafia games. Actually, you should not have protected Cat5. The Chronosphere was unable to kill buildings. (Granted, neither party knew about that back then.) As for the game itself, I really enjoyed it and I would like to thank Verti for the experimental set-up. I also don't think people understand just how hard scum had it after the Visceroids were eliminated. We couldn't murder the veteran players, could only kill one person once every two days (and even that was not guaranteed!) and, as buildings, we were limited to the Soviet structure list. Meanwhile, the two veteran players, who we couldn't kill, had ways to prove themselves as town. Obviously, they didn't know we couldn't touch them, so them being careful was a balancing mechanic, but it was hard. And in the end, RNG kind off saved our arse. Some people also asked what I would claim, well, in the end, I decided to either go with a kennel (passive cop) or claim Neutral Chronosphere where a ''third party'' was after me, having accessed my control node on N3, building on my unwillingness to claim, the lack of nightkills so far. and the idea that town wasn't fighting the Allies. An impatient scumbuddy put an end to these plans. (Yes, I was really busy those days. I don't lie about that.) All in all, an enjoyable game. Also, the role of the Vortex was fun. Especially since I rolled a charge twice and didn't manage to do anything on the first two tries. The Vortex wasn't as dangerous as you were led to believe. (And I even made that clear.)
