  1. ModDB, once I get to breathe and organize them a bit if needed. It'll look kinda like this: http://www.moddb.com/games/star-trek-starfleet-command-orion-pirates/addons/sfc-op-gamefront-pack Renegade covered. I discarded the Media part (as with other games, it's less relevant) and things that already exist on ModDB, including RenAlert and Reborn (I suppose W3D Hub should have them anyway - tell me by tomorrow morning if this needs to be downloaded as well, as I'm out for most of the day).
  2. If they caught the main GameFront structure, you'll be able to use my list and links based on that to search through it. Some FileFront networks (the old ones) were preserved respectably, too. I also noticed something in C&C files - they mostly logged only 3 downloads in the past 2 weeks each. Guess not many people are even arsed to archive.
  3. I never said I'd cover most of it (if you re-trace my posts), I just happened to get lucky and cover from RA3 to TW in backwards order My priorities were always TD-YR, which are done, and certain SFC games, which I hoped to cover more. I'm underway with Renegade, Tore covered some Zero Hour mods. The rest of Gen/ZH will be kaputt, I just hope FilesNation, Archive.org and Gamefront.online covered it :/
  4. Did anyone get Renegade stuff? I'm about to snap after fighting the Tiberium Wars section, the amount of maps is inhuman.
  5. Getting it all on ModDB has been the end goal all along, was it not? I have more than enough storage for my part of the salvage. What are you saving, by the way?
  6. A bit stuck because of midterms, but I'm definitely not out. Count on me for Westwood titles. I've salvaged some Starfleet Command mods (even found the original author of some of them, and gave control of the pages to him), as well as C&C titles up to TS Firestorm. I still want to sweep some obscure tools from there in my next pass before I focus on RA2/YR.
  7. You needn't worry about those. You still have time to get them from Patches-Scrolls.de (note that the humongous ones include the next expansion's content, only locked). http://www.patches-scrolls.com/company_of_heroes.php http://www.patches-scrolls.com/company_of_heroes_opposing_fronts.php http://www.patches-scrolls.com/company_of_heroes_tales_of_valor.php
  8. I'm told this has actually happened: the Archive Team has been doing much of the archiving work since the FileFront network went down last year. Curiously, I tried to use Archive.org for testing whether I can get some files through there, and the Download Now button would be unclickable. Guess you have to pinpoint a file and a recent-enough date to get what you need. http://www.archiveteam.org/index.php?title=GameFront
  9. Break Media (today merged into Defy Media) was part of why GameFront was in terrible shape. Even prior to the purchase, things were pretty bad on FileFront, and even though Break saved them from closing in 2010, they did next to nothing to bring them back to their feet. The network deteriorated and sections were left unmanaged, and minor attempts at YouTubing were made, but didn't help. The Escapist is also owned by today's Defy Media, and their current video production is comprised only of Yahtzee Croshaw, while I hope the rest of their website makes up for that (don't actually follow them).
  10. From an ex-GF editor's Twitter... I'm even more fearful about ModDB, though.
  11. Archive.org doesn't behave well with the actual download handling from FileFront because the download system on the old FileFront network was pretty borked (as was, realistically, everything technically related to it). Also, finding a file page that was actually stored of the millions is the mother of all Russian roulettes. I've put some links here, get salvaging before it's too late.
  12. There are other vanilla servers, though. http://www.gtop100.com/topsites/World-of-Warcraft
  13. Hires version, plox (<--- Usagi Yojimbo comin' through)
  14. All mods do if you disable Origin for all TUC games and get Bibber's fixed launchers. http://bibber.eu/downloads/cnc-ultimate-collection-launchers/
  15. For a 9x-capable engine, that's ridiculous. Must be that the Scripts team just wants the newest VS builds just so they can say it's the newest (as it's not actually needed for the W3D engine). VS 2012 Update 1 has XP target support, and I'd love to see how many things one can do with that rather than VS 2026.
  16. Microsoft believes the common user is a total moron, which is why they make such warnings. Most of the time lately, they are right. I've had UAC disabled since I got this laptop two years ago and I didn't regret it one single time even for a bit. UAC does nothing but limit and annoy. Kill it with fire and it won't annoy you anymore.
  17. You're posting in a thread from three months ago without a valid reason. If you want to play W3D games online, try European afternoons and evenings (as most players are from Europe).
  18. WE'VE KNOWN EACH OTHER FOR SO LONG YOUR HEART'S BEEN ACHING, BUT YOU'RE TOO SHY TO SAY IT INSIDE WE BOTH KNOW WHAT'S BEEN GOING ON WE KNOW THE GAME AND WE'RE GONNA PLAY IT AND IF YOU ASK ME WHAT I'M FEELING DON'T TELL ME YOU'RE TOO BLIND TO SEE
  19. I don't recall this being the topic matter.
  20. Weren't all Westwood's source codes lost in 2003? Olaf attempted to get it for RA2/YR years ago, EA didn't have it.
  21. Renegade Wars - http://www.moddb.com/mods/renegade-wars-kw MOBA-style custom map with C&C heroes. Actually fun. 1.04 Big Bang patch - http://www.moddb.com/mods/kanes-wrath-unofficial-patch-104 More of a mod than a patch (duh), but has some pretty good ideas and assets. One Vision - http://www.moddb.com/mods/cnc3-kw-one-vision More stuff, more stuff, more stuff! Wall mod - http://www.moddb.com/mods/wall-mod Also worth checking are the 1.02+ and 1.03 unofficial patches. http://www.gamereplays.org/community/index.php?showforum=4015 Competitive KW multiplayer players use the 1.02+ mappacks (not the patch itself, but the maps are coded to have all the patch's changes).
